Boosts- unnecessary. We’re getting more ways to easily acquire xp, even straight up xp increases for old phase level caps
Professions- it’s like 5 gold to level a prof to max right now, really not an issue
Consumes- also not expensive if you go above and beyond you have to spend like 40s on a SPP
Mounts- are cheaper in SoD, not even remotely an issue

That’s a very judgemental way of phrasing it which speaks to your unwillingness to see the opppsite point of view, but you’re mostly on track.
It’s opportunism. Grinding takes time, and in many cases players can earn more gold per hour by spending money they earn working than they could making gold in-game.
So… how does banning GDKPs address that underlying issue?

I’ve never bought gold in any game in my entire life, but if I would buy gold I would want the best items in the game. Am I gonna spend $50 to buy a staff of jordan? A staff that is worse than the staff from BFD nevermind loot from gnomer? Hell no
