Banned while leveling in dungeons , Anniversary realm Dreamscythe

Greetings, everyone. I got banned on the anniversary server Dreamscythe for the following reason: “Exploitative Activity: Unauthorized Cheat Programs(Hacks)”
Has this happened to anyone else? I’ve seen a few posts on Reddit and the Blizzard forums where people mention being banned for leveling in dungeons.
Personally, I ran a lot of Zul’Farrak because it gives the best experience in the game , around 40–50 minutes per level. I started at level 40 and got banned at level 52 .
How can I prove that I didn’t use any programs? I submitted a ticket to support, offering to provide any proof of my innocence, but they responded with a standard reply, ignoring the content of my appeal. I can upload a video of me making a 7minute run in Zul’farrak which shows I’m a sweaty gamer , not a hacker .
I would appreciate any help, and feel free to share your stories as well.

To be blunt, nothing you say is taken into account when an appeal is looked at - they don’t take outside information as it can be easily edited to show whatever the person wants. All we can tell you is appeal until they tell you to stop.

This won’t help anything as the forums isn’t for this kind of topic - talking about account actions is against the rules.

Realistically, what you were doing at the exact moment the account action came down is not related to why you were actioned.

You can appeal till they tell you to stop.

I can tell you, however - having a fake name on an account registered to a country that you don’t appear to be in - is not going to help your case.

If you do manage to get this sorted, you’ll want to address that.

Nobody is banned for “leveling in dungeons”. Nobody.

They are banned for using cheating methods like any form of automation - including macros to automate skill casts, crafting, gathering, etc. Exploiting bugs in game for gain. Botting.

They also sometimes multibox, which is ok, but they can’t use ANY software or hardware to streamline it in any way. Nothing at all to help them. Totally manual.

You can run all the dungeons you want, but you have to do it with the basic tools the game gives you.

People also break the rules by buying gold or in-game services for real money, or account sharing.

Further, there is nothing you can submit to “prove” your innocence. Blizzard does not accept outside files because unfortunately they can be faked or edited.

There can be false positives with the anti-cheat detection system though. They do recognize that. That is what appeals are for. You can submit a polite appeal until they tell you further crosses into the line of GM harassment.

I have never been penalized for anything in any game, ever. I only once got a forum penalty but it was very much an accident and quickly reversed. They meant to remove a flag and hit the wrong button.

Thank you for your reply , I appreciate ur time . I bet i’ll be unbanned one day because i didnt used any sort of hacks and I respect Blizzard’s efforts to maintain a fair gaming environment . I’m also willing to confirm account ownership at any time using my passport information if it helps Blizzard support resolve the situation.

I love that you doubled down on this.

That you might have a passport with a fake name on it and playing from a different country than that listen on the account… impressive.

Best of luck with your appeal. Posting here will not change the outcome of it unfortunately.

I didn’t read it like that, Perl. You may be correct, I perceived that as they are willing to ‘fix’ it with correct info.

In any case - folks, don’t do this. There are reasons that we insist you use your real legal info. If something happens, it’s very important we can confirm you - are indeed, you.

Only, they don’t. The fact that you added this is just icing on the cake though.

/Hugs the panda.

I can see what you mean. It certainly could have meant that.

Best not to make inaccurate comments like this. There’s no automated system banning people like this. Nor is levelling through dungeons going to get you into trouble.

This is a great example of why these threads are against the rules. Appeal your account action. That’s all you can do.

Hi Perl, I already did that but I got an automatic reply instead of resolving my ticket. Would you recommend me to send an account action appeal again to get an automatic response again? I just wanna clarify what u mean .

She means; what you’re posting isn’t something what the forums needs - basically tinfoil hat theories about something that’s been proven wrong time and again. More so when it’s wholey unrelated to the issue at hand.

She means exactly what was stated, Arcanepumper.

These aren’t automated bans, nor are the appeals automated. Both done by humans.

We see that claim here a lot, it’s not true - and it does tend to get old.

What you got what a template reply, Not a automatic reply!

Your videos can be edited, so there is that. Nobody, and I repeat, nobody is just getting banned for no reason. They may not tell you what is detected, and when, but they don’t just ban for no reason.

That conspiracy does generate a lot of drama and views though, which a few streamers have tried. Like, having their followers report their chat, getting squelched (been in for over a decade for spammers), then getting an actual suspension for abusing the reporting system.

Don’t cheat or exploit and you have nothing to worry about.

While false positives can happen, those are not “for no reason either”. The software is picking up something close enough to actual cheating that it flagged it. Incorrectly, but still. That is what appeals are for.

Threatening Blizzard does not work one little bit. Not at all.

If appeals were automated, you would get all replies within 1-2 minutes.

Depending on what your questions are, the policy they have is to not answer them.

They will not give you any info on how or when you triggered the anti-cheat, as there’s nothing the bad actors would love to get more.

If you were asking for any details about what was detected, when it was detected, etc - they don’t tell you. That is info the bot makers would love, so they don’t release it.

They also do not debate or argue with you. An appeal is a simple yes or now. Is the account flagged for a violation - if yes then upheld. If no, or the GMs have been given updated info about false positives, then they may overturn it.

Again, it is a yes or no and depending on the results you will get a template. They will NOT argue or discuss it with you.

I think there technically is a 3rd option, which is escalated for advanced review.

Which just tells you that you’ll have to wait a while longer before you get the yes or no.

Yes, there is. It is uncommon, but exists

Regardless of the answer, the OP will get a template. It won’t be a custom crafted reply arguing or answering questions.
