Could he have put software on your computer you dont know about? I would ask

The only recent thing he’s done was to install a new stick of RAM. I don’t think he had to install any software to do that, but I’ll ask him x.x

Does your husband play games on your computer? It’s possible he has installed a program for a different game that Warden caught and is a red flag from them. Even if it wasn’t used for WoW specifically it can still get you in trouble.

Just so you’re aware, sometimes, it isn’t even cheat programs that can trigger it. Some general software un-related to World of Warcraft, or even software used for mouse/keyboards can also be a trigger.

Let me ask these?

  • Do you use any sort of software for work on your computer at home?
  • Do you have a macro set up on your mouse or keyboard that is set up by software of the devices?
  • Have you by any other chance may of downloaded another program for another game that the Warden would’ve picked up even?
  • Have you logged into a public computer at an internet cafe or somewhere recently?

Like there is a lot to think off. Downloading addons wouldn’t be a trigger to a ban, not unless an addon is using a 3rd party software outside of the addon to do stuff such as automations, which we know Blizzard would break the addon anyways as well if they didn’t like the addon.

Now, Blizzard would not tell you what they have detected, because if anything, for those who do hack and cheat and what not, there is nothing more than finding ways to getting around these things. So, you got to take into the account on what you do on your own computer.

Please speak to your husband. He may have downloaded something for another game or work that the detection system would pick up as “Cheat Software”.

This means you may never use it or even have it turned on. However the Warden (the cheat detector) would identify the program and flag your account.

I know it doesn’t seem fair, but cheating in video games is a multibillion dollar industry (crazy, I know) and so the detection systems are very sophisticated.
Just having a program that can do certain auto things that would be work related or used in another game could also be used to cheat in WoW, even though YOU didn’t do it. Just being on your system is enough.

I’m not saying your husband would be cheating, but he may have installed something in the past few months that would qualify.

They can’t be specific because the people that make tons of money doing this want to know how they get caught. And they will pretend to be innocent, hoping to get a clue. This means they just can’t take your word for it, even though you seem genuine to me.

Stay calm. Check with your Husband. Keep submitting appeals. I genuinely believe that if this was a mistake, it will be uncovered.

Good luck !

This in itself shouldn’t be an issue. Spouses after all.

My husband has access to my Laptop, as he should, but he doesn’t use it, he has his own.

Do you share a computer? He plays his games and you play yours? This is what could be important.

As mentioned:

I’m a blue collar worker, nothing I do for work involves a computer. I drive for a living.
The few macros I use are hand typed targeting macros.
The only other game I play regularly is No Man’s Sky, I don’t have any other software I use to play that. Everything I do in NMS is in game.
I don’t use any computers but my own.

I’m trying to think of all the other programs I use, but none of them have anything to do with gaming barring that I have a few other games. I have an old version of Photoshop, I have Cura, I have Blender, I have a handful of other games that I play from time to time. =/.

I remapped backing up to a mouse key, I don’t think that would count as anything?

Does your husband use your computer?

He has his own computer. In fact, we have the same exact type of computer, so he’d have no reason to use mine at all. We have our own computers, and we each have our own laptop.

We used to play WoW together, when he used to play.

Ask him if he might have something on his computer? On the same network it might show up while your playing

The only thing I can think of, and this is a stretch, but I was looking to see what Blender is (because you mentioned you have it) and apparently it can be used to change graphics and models in WoW.

When I google searched the questions “What does Blender software do?” and “Can Blender software be used to change graphics in World of Warcraft?”, this is the answer I got:

" Yes, Blender software can be used to change models in World of Warcraft with the WoWbject Importer add-on. This add-on can import models from World of Warcraft and apply game textures and materials."

Again, it’s a stretch, but it’s something to look at. If you’ve used it to change any textures or models in WoW, that would be a big no no.

I have Blender on my machine (though I don’t use it much at all), and I’ve had no issues.

I would happily delete it if it was the problem =/ I only even used it once, to fix a 3d trinket I was printing. I can find other ways to fix my prints =/ If they give me my account back I’d happily remove everything else off my computer. Just have WoW there and everything else on my laptop. I had no idea non-related programs could have an affect on an in game account. =(

And then, there’s still that I don’t know what I was flagged for because Blizz can’t and won’t tell me. I’ve been wracking my brain for anything weird I might have done over the last few months, the only notable thing was a stick of failing ram kept crashing me, so I had to keep relogging in until the whole computer would finally crash.

To jump off this: Blender is more a stand alone program used by folks to make 3d models and the like. The common one I’m thinking of, is used for things like movies, youtube videos and the like - think ToyStory and the like.

I see your appeal, Iorii. You should be hearing from it soon.

Yeah I don’t see a scenario where Blender would be caught up by Warden.

OH MY GOD THANK YOU! You don’t know what this means to me. Thank you so much, to you, and everyone with suggestions. I will be going through deleting my addons and removing my programs down to the barest minimum. x.x

Addons wont be the cause of it.

I wish I knew what caused it ;_; I’m still going to see what my game looks like without them, maybe carefully add a few back over time. The only other thing I saw people being banned for that was unusual was something about inactive scrolling. I don’t know if it was something to do with that, but I’ve turned it off, just in case.

If you download your addons from Curseforge and they go into the Interface / Addons folder, they wouldn’t be an issue.
