Ban Review Process Inquiry

Good Evening,

Last night I’ve received an email indicating that my account that I had for over 10 years has been perm banned. As many have shared, I have not had any bans, suspensions in my tenure playing wow. Per the email, the offense was "Unauthorized Cheat Programs Hack"s, but did not provide any details of what I did? What I think possibly happened was being mass reported for using a 10/11 to run TW dungeons as they are really powerful and can blast through dungeons for TW badges or even Bronze badges.

I am writing this to see if anyone else encounter this recently and if tech support could please help with additional details please? I’ve sent out my appeal last night after receiving the email, I’ve received one automative email " his action has been taken in accordance with our Terms of Use and our In-game Policies ( https://blizzard.com/support/article/42673 ), which all players acknowledge and agree to prior to playing. These policies and conditions allow us to maintain a fun and safe game environment for all of our players."

But still no details, on what hack I was doing. Truly never thought being banned could happen, until it happens. Really hope to have my appeal approved.

Truly appreciate the wow community and the great times I’ve shared with this community, players, GMs, and blizzard support.

Thank you all.

Not a thing. A single report is enough for action.

They are not required to give you this or botters/cheaters may adjust their actions to evade the various anti-cheats in the game.

Your only option is to appeal and keep appealing.

You probably won’t get much in the way of details as you mentioned, if it is for cheats and hacks. Trust me, those people who do make these programs would like to know how their programs were detected also.

That said, if you need instructions on how to appeal, we can do that.
If you have already appealed, good luck.

I did not think about hacks/cheaters using these forms/threads to evade potential hacks. That makes sense. I appreciate the information. also, I did send my appeal earlier this morning, unsure if there is a proper format and information I need to share?

Nope nothing unsay or do will affect the apeals they go by logs and logs alone

Gotcha, so basically I am submitting the appeal for them to review the logs?

Pretty much.

Yes. It’s just for another set of eyes, other than the original GM, to review the data to make sure a mistake wasn’t made. You can send in appeals until they tell you to stop. It gets escalated each time for further review.

Excuse my ignorance, what is a 10/11?

Just as an aside, I believe appeals are taking several days at this time so just be patient and they’ll get back to you.

Sounds like a pretty standard protocol. 10/11 are experience locked characters you can gear up and use to run dungs, pve content, pvp content, achievements, etc. I think its more popular demographic are unsub accounts/players. If that makes sense.

It does, thank you.

In the meantime, you should probably start looking for any program on your computer that could be used for automating the game. Anything that allows you do do more than 1 action per keypress. One of the popular ones was AutoHotKey that was used in the past by multiboxers to be able to switch easily between screens and allow 1 keypress to effect multiple characters on multiple accounts, but it’s not the only one. Even if it’s just on your computer or used for another game or work, Warden will pick it up. Using your mouse or keyboard software to automate any actions is also a no no.

I see you have an appeal open, you actually have two which will likely be merged when they come up in queue.

Were you by chance multiboxing? If so, you do know you can’t streamline that in any way, yes?

I can’t say for a fact that’s what this is, but a semi-educated guess based on the number of accounts you have and it’s not hard to run afoul of the newer rules on that activity.

Ignore people claiming mass reports = ban they not you throw it around to make themselves sound important and claim its some grand conspiracy.

Thanks so much for the quick reply and response. I have not multi-box nor used any software to do so, as I know that can be a bannable offense. Sorry for creating 2 tickets was unsure where to submit the tickets. I really appreciate you looking into my account.

Just to be clear, Multiboxing is NOT an offense.

How you do it can be.

I have seen people used software like that and heard it was bannable so decided to never do so.

You dont use any programs outside of wow for automation donu.

Understood - I think I just get confused on the term Multi-boxing. As I think multi boxing is having a software that links your characters abilities together and runs them all at the same time by just pressing 1 key.

I was under the impression that having 2 or more wow windows open at the same time, not linked to any software, is NOT an offense?

That is correct, and it’s a more accurate definition of multiboxing.

The use of any software or hardware to make it easier on the player is how they define streamlining, and that is what’s against the rules.
