You can make any weakaura that Fojji makes if you have the knowledge, you can make any profile that BillisOnyxia makes if you have the knowledge. Them selling their knowledge is in my opinion fine. Blizzard seems to share this opinion because they haven’t done anything to stop them.
The same applies to RestedXP, Blizzard haven’t done anything which means it’s fine to do. The base addon is free which is all Blizzard cares about.
Blizzard should not only be banning ILLEGAL addons like these “zygor” and “restedxp” but they should also be taking legal action against them.
They are breaking the terms of service, which last I checked, is illegal and bannable. End of discussion.
Addon “developers” are making crap for a 20 yr old CARTOON game… Its insanity they even try to charge money for something a teenager makes for fun in their basement. We dont pay for kids drawings and we shouldnt be paying for “addons” either.
You want to be paid to “”“Program”“” (if you can even call lua programming) then go get a real job building a house or something. Make something useful instead of stupid crap like this that just makes video games worse for hard working americans that dont want to pay for your dumb crap!!!
all addons should be removed but especially paid addons and blizzard needs to be punishing them with the full extent of the legal system. Loop holes in the terms of service are not an excuse to be immoral and break the law.

You alright mate? You seem stressed, take a nap and calm down.

Blizzard makes the terms of service and decides how and when they are going to enforce it. They aren’t even obligated to follow their own terms of service if they so choose because it’s not written law.

u cant pick and choose which laws to follow… its not optional.
They’re not laws, they’re guidelines/rules.

It’s amazing how you spin a comment that says no such thing. I don’t have to defend a thing. As I have said, if Blizzard are happy with it then that makes it OK. I do not have to justify Blizzard’s decisions and am certainly not privy to their discussions. And I say again: I have NEVER seen any spam from this addon. EVER.
Yeah like what does RXP spam? when it’s targeting macro changes? when you’ve leveled up and it tells you how long it took? I don’t understand what they mean.
When someone makes an add on that will ERP with you it will be the biggest seller.
The terms of service is not “the law” however.

I mean you literally don’t comprehend things do you.
Additional features = a guide.
Which flight points to take = guide
Which NPC it points to = guide
Which quests to take = guide
Which quests to turn in and when = guide
All of this is a guide.
So now we have that out of the way.
It was stated, it is much more than a guide. So tell us exactly besides being an over bloated guide “what else does it do that we are all supposed to know it does”.
Do not tell me more features of a guide… We all get it.
And just so we’re all on the same page.
I could tell you, this Orange I have is an orange, but we all know it is more than an orange.
Do we?
If you don’t get it by now, you never will.
To be fair, RXP does tell everyone around you how long it took and it is basically an advertisement for the addon.
If we’re going off that then Questie is more of an issue than RestedXP, then again you don’t pay for Questie which I guess is the line on what’s fine to “spam”.
And I really don’t know but does Questie announce in general chat (in the zone you are in) that you’ve leveled? I
No, both Questie and RestedXP only say it in party chat.
Actually, RestedXP says it outside of party chat. I’ve seen it in local chat for everyone to read.
I’ve never seen Questie announce anything even in party chat and I know for sure some of the folks I’ve quested with use Questie.
I’ve never seen RestedXP announce anything in general/world chat, might be an optional thing.

I don’t think the addon should be banned, but I do think Blizzard should start enforcing their policies against these addon makers that are directly trying to circumvent the ToS by making “optional parts” of the addon cost money.
Yea there is actually a free one called guidelime, it has tons of free guides for questing, professions, it comes with tomtom arrow, auto turns in and accept quests, the guides may not be as efficient as restedxp or zygor but still great guides and its all free

Imagine not having every quest from 1-80 memorized
Seriously though, who cares if the wide-eyed hayseeds pay someone else to essentially browse thottbot for them. Even if Blizz banned ALL addons, the youtube/streamer/reddit/bis crowd would just resort to paying guys like me for handholding sessions on zoom.
If guides and boosting are restricted, the lemmings start buying accounts again like in late TBC/Wrath.
