Ban RestedXP

Let me give you the history of this. MANY years ago when Zygor and RestedXP first came out, Blizzard examined the situation. They resolved that the addon was free and was thus not against the ToS. If you chose to purchase any extra guides that was entirely up to you. You were free to develop your own guides. Thus there is nothing for Blizzard to enforce. The issue was determined years ago.

That is the facts. Goodbye.

You haven’t played hardcore have you?

Chat there was littered with the restedxp spam. Which was using /emote channel.

By that same logic, botting is ok so long as it’s the mouse or keyboard that runs the bot. Since after all, it’s just a mouse and keyboard which is perfectly fine to use.

Breaking the ToS by proxy, is still breaking the ToS.

Are you being deliberately obtuse? What part of “Blizzard is the sole arbiter of what is acceptable or not” That is the bottom line. LEARN TO LIVE WITH IT.

I don’t know about chat, but there is an aoe around the person when they level.

“Soandso leveled from level 14 to 15 in 104 minutes with Rested XP!” (Something like that, the syntax may not be perfect)

I have a “/e spits on %t” macro for those moments.

I don’t care if RXP is allowed or not, I will spit on anyone who needs an indepth guide to quest. The game is not that hard.

I don’t recall paying for this addon.

Sounds like OP got scammed out of his wallet and is salty about it.

Thought spit didn’t work when targeting a player, just says spits on ground?

Or he’s just fed up seeing it spamming everywhere when it’s clearly breaking the tos.

lol

:mirror:

Apparently you didn’t get it since there are several guide addons and they don’t have the features I already explained to you.

wowPro is a free guide addon and it’s just a guide. By just a guide, I mean it just gives you a list of quests to do in a specific order. limeguides also just lets you create essentially quest lists to do in a specific order. That’s what most addons that are guide addons do.

What sets RXP apart from them is the more advanced features like the auto-updating macro, that was already explained to you. I’m sorry you didn’t understand why that was different from other guide addons that do not have the same feature.

Literally just post all of what you’re saying to yourself and try harder cupcake.

I don’t even know why you’re arguing such a stupid point. I wasn’t even arguing it should be banned, I was literally just answering the question of what the addon does.

It only breaks the TOS if blizzard says so, and so far, they have spoken by not banning them, these addons aren’t new, blizzard isn’t unaware of them and more than likely aren’t going to change stances on it.

I hate to inform you of this but Blizzard doesn’t seem to care what it’s doing.

/e starts the emote
“Spits on” makes the action
%t put the targets name in that spot.

So a player would read “Yourname spits on Theirname”

Only works for same faction

The auto posting of messages is on by default and clearly obviously doing so to advertise the addon because they want someone to look it up and buy the paid version of the guide.

I think that doesn’t technically violate any advertising rules though since it’s not directly telling you to go to our website that lets you buy things. It’s just posting your leveling time in an obnoxious way.

I would guess most people turn this off once they notice it.

how could you get in trouble for saying you can find free copies if you google it. i could say you can find free copies of expensive programs such as photoshop etc online too and i have committed no crime by stating that.

why are you looking for an argument? stop being weird. heres the attention you were apparently craving. advocating for piracy in blizzards forums likely breaks some type of rule, if you want to read through the ToS to debate me on it go ahead. I will not care either way.

Can we be honest and just address the fact there are people out there that find wotlk difficult enough to pay for add-ons…then we can just laugh at those individuals.

Neither was I but reading & comprehension is hard, keep trying you’ll get there eventually.

I understand perfectly that you were making a terrible point that all the features it has can be generically considered just part of a guide addon.

The first time I commented on the features I was actually responding to someone with a legitimate question about what the addon did. I assumed you might be asking a legitimate question as well, but as it turns out you were just trying to make a terrible point and didn’t actually care what it did.

If all of this makes you feel better about yourself

:point_up_2: :point_up_2: :point_up_2: :point_up_2: :point_up_2: :point_up_2:
then have at it.

You’re an absurd person and have said nothing of value at any point in this thread.
