This looks suspiciously similar to a troll thread someone posted on their 3k main yesterday. I’m going with troll.
Now I’m not the best player. I’m 1k on my main and I do plan on pushing it but regardless, the amount of times I’ve said f it I’ll invite you with 0 score or a couple hundred has never ever been worth it. They are always under performing.
Yes there are people who are exceptions to this but should the player take that risk when it’s their key?
Translation: “Good players like playing with other good players, and have created metrics to help filter out bad players and I find this personally offensive. How dare they find ways to avoid carrying me.”
Unless you’re trying to get carried you shouldn’t have an issue joining keys in line with your gear and work your way up. Or you can make your own group. If I had to guess you’re reaching beyond your current status and trying to get carried. That’s why I like raider io, helps cut down on the leeches.
carried
I think we need to agree on some kind of consensus as to what this means…
See, my general view is this…
It depends purely on the berserk timer of the boss for dps, I generally don’t care if 1 or 2 dps sucks if the overall group is beating the beserk timer.
But it gets more complicated then this sometimes, as in a lot of fights I’ve had groups that get the mechanics totally under control, and I am very impressed with the way people pay attention to mechanics, and then suddenly the berserk timer goes off lol, so that’s where it’s a bit of a grey area to me as I would sooner have people that know mechanics over those that just blast spells in every direction standing in crap all the time.
So for this reason, I don’t know what an actual ‘carry’ is, like for me a carry has to be someone that both doesn’t know mechanics and is very bad on the dps/heals or whatever to be officially a ‘carry’.
I’d sooner take someone that tries, does their research and so on…
At the end of the day, I dont like the system but it shouldn’t be banned if say you are doing a 17+ key and you need someone who knows experience on that said dungeon and their performance in other dungeons. However if I bring someone who has literally no experience in the dungeon at a high level, its going to lead into a bad experience for you and other 4 people who want to plus a key. doing a 15+ is relatively difficult and you need to put the effort other than leeching off others and being carried.
Not trying to be an elitist but I’m going to say this to you, OP and some others that are against this is make your groups, get a guild, build your raider IO score and you can get into a key that you want to do, learn from low level keys.
Not good advice if most GM’s are like me.
The last guy that joined my guild today that kept talking about mythic+ I told him maybe go somewhere else, as it’s not my main focus, I just prefer to raid only.
To me dungeons are a just a means to get the minimum gear you need to start raiding, they have no purpose beyond that to me.
Create your own groups. No I’m not bringing you to my 15+ shrine without checking to see if you can handle it, and your word on its own isn’t enough.
I feel like you’ve posted this before…
If raider io (or the information it pulled from armoury) wasn’t available, high level key pugging would cease to exist. It would turn into cliques where someone has to personally vouch for you before you can join. Raider io and the ability for every player to loot a key and make their own groups are what make this content accessible.
Further, until you understand the scoring system, could you please stop spreading misinformation by calling it “arbitrary”?
based on random choice or personal whim, rather than any reason or system. being the definition we’ll go with here
Seems you can get into 4s, 5s, and 6s.
Than make it higher? Run your own keys.
I WANT GLUE!
Pugging stuff for me is a horrible way to experience the game, do yourself a favor and find a group of frequent dungeon crawlers that you can run with. You’ll be in a better mood.
I would hazard a guess and say no. No one is as extreme about it as you.
The advice still holds, though. “Get a guild” could just be expanded to “get s guild with shared interests/goals”
I am just really against the go, go go timer thing is all, to me it’s breeding ground for elitism. In raids it’s no big deal if you wipe, you can always try again, last night I had half the raid leave, then new group came in, and we were done.
Simple.
-
If you’re not pushing the dps that you’re meant to be doing. You’re getting carried
-
If you’re below the ilvl you need to do the encounter. You’re getting carried
-
If the team consistantly trying to keep your a ss alive because you keep standing on dumb stuff. You’re getting carried
If you’re not pushing the dps that you’re meant to be doing. You’re getting carried
But some classes suck more than others.
All classes can easily hit a certain metric, just because your a enh shaman doesn’t mean you can’t be as strong as a DH (to a certain extent). Balance is not so far out of whack that a spec isn’t strong enough to be useful just not OP
all I see here is an excuse. You’re not playing for top 100 guild.
Shocker, guy likes content you don’t. I see your guild flourishing with that attitude.
Oh… I see.
Translation: “It forces me to pull my weight to succeed, unlike raiding where I can be carried with ease.”
create a group or do the work to get a good score
