The actual scoring system is the opposite of arbitrary. Points are granted based on the difficulty of the dungeon and how much time you took to complete it.
So timing a 10, where you have to properly manage your cooldowns is considered more difficult than going an hour over for an 11 or 12, because you’re lusting every pack that isn’t more than 1-2 mobs.
The only thing arbitrary about Raider IO is the baseline score for a dungeon. Why is 1 chesting a 10 worth 100(ish) points and not 200, or 400 or even 10? But that’s largely irrelevant, since the system works relative to itself.

So I dislike the website, I am on your side for that, BUT I don’t think anyone has said nup your io score sucks you are not coming in this mythic, and neither do I or anyone in our guild use it to decided on who to select…
I can see that anyone running really high keys might, BUT you can always just start your own group, and invite who you like, the tools are there use them.
The only time I think IO is stupid is when people demand a 1k IO score to run a +2 or +3. Its kinda needed for higher keys.
Also if people are looking at IO score rather than progression for a raid then thats kinda odd as well.

Raider .io helps a lot for players who already have some experience for more than he obtained 2 or 3 stars something that Blizzard does not do on his own page to qualify for everything you do in the game for recognition, but unfortunately he gets ELITIST knowing that it is only for them to win a gratz and worse to the idiot who shows his achievements all the time in general channels.
the bad thing that in the group finder does not help anything more to increase their raider. io points and everything is in vain, or that does not help new players without the need for a guild, apart from the carry business that does not change anything, and worse It doesn’t help if you just played this expansion having a good score in the previous expansion.
As an experience of mine, I stopped playing the game until 8.2 for reasons that I had a bad business when I bought the game, but I already had some score after Legion, which did not recognize that experience that you were in another expansion in which reconquer your position as the best player.
and I have a lot of trouble finding a group to help me get a +10 before the end season.
Its understandable tbh, if he only have 2 hours of playtime and can only run 4 dungeon but want to get +10 done for the day, He would need to +3 +3 +2 +1 the key.
Bottom line is its his key, if he’s asking too much then it won’t get filled.
Ban it along with ilvl/gear score. Those that tell you to find friends/guild can do the same thing.
Lmao you got me to click the start group link

Sorry to just take this part of your post but I think it’s the most important part to take away.
With how gear works in this expansion, doing content in line with your gear could put you in the +5 range, and this is the issue. People are chasing the gear instead of the experience. If blizzard could make m+ an actual progression system, or stop you from being able to skip the " training" levels then it would be better.
They would also have to ban the inspect feature, armory and achievements. Honestly, the only way your idea would work is to put m+ only in the lfd system. That would guarentee no one is being denied, but that would also guarentee the success rate of keys goes down 1000%.
So those who feel the need of an add-on and some that despise the LFD system cannot do the same as the casuals? I am not pointing any fingers but it pretty much sums up the exact response those give to those casuals as in “Find friends or a Guild”.
My response was also sarcastic but seems no one got it. Yet, I do agree with my response that the hardcore can do the same as the casuals to complete content.
I agree.
Blizzard should ban YouTube too as guides on there gives players an unfair advantage and foster an environment where it is expected you know the mechanics of encounters.
Blizzard should also ban icy veins and raidbots and anyone who is caught doing math, we cannot abide this elitism anymore.
Game should just be me and a few random people all queueing up to watch a cinematic together where we all are guaranteed a cache with epic loot afterwards.

Sounds like a plan! Then everyone can just find friends and join a guild.
Shocker, guy likes content you don’t. I see your guild flourishing with that attitude.
But it is, as I’m not getting mythic+ runners too much these days as that’s not what I care about.
Mythic+ has gotten out of control, it was meant to be an alternative only for progression, it was never meant to be made to feel mandatory like so many people are making it feel.

Sure they can, and they do, that is the difference.
One group uses the tools they have to complete the content they want to complete be it raider io, guildies or friends.
The other group expects someone else to solve their issues and get offended when other options are purposed to them.
Why is that a bad thing though? This response literally covers all the complaints that arise from raider io. There is nothing else that I or anyone else on the forums can do that will make getting into m+ easier for you, it’s a problem you have to solve on your own.
And the casuals can do the same thing the hardcores are doing to complete the content. The big difference is hardcores actually put the effort in.

Hey! make your own group and you have no concerns…
I don’t care about raiderIO one bit, and just raid keys with my guild, so it doesn’t affect me one bit. This in mind I still don’t see why someone wants it banned when you have just as easy ways to work around it. Pugs need a way to get some confidence in the people applying. You are no one to them and asking to risk their key. They should have a way of knowing your history. Restaurants have rating sites…businesses do too.
Pugs can do the same as you tell casuals to do. Go make friends or find a guild. LFD is known as the great devil by some of the hardcore. Why do you need a 3rd party add-on to play?
So there’s a add-on that shows you have close to no experience and you are mad because your lack of experience is visible to others? Do you want the other people in your group to pick up the slack for your lack of experience?
Really sounds like a you problem not a add-on
Besides blizzard literally increased their leaderboards so raider IO could access more data and blizzard has said during a Q&A that they would like to add something like it in game. Raider IO is here to stay and is blizzard approved
So here are your options
1.) Get into a guild and hop into any keys that they are willing to take you into. That will passively get your score up enough for you to start pugging keys
2.) Start your own mythic 0 groups and do all of them. That will help your score to get into lower keys.
3.) Make your own group for a mythic 0 and get a keystone. Put the key into LFG and be picky on who you invite by using the raider IO add-on
There are your solutions, none of them include making a forum post about it and all of them are a path to get into mythic +s

Interesting… sounds like both casuals, part-timers, semi, and hardcore can all do the samething.
I’m sensitive a hint of sarcasm in your tone
