How are people dropping world buffs every week for literal years?

I think you didn’t play on Whitemane in 2021 or 2022. There was no GDKP, the population was much smaller, and yet… Era grew.
GDKP is purely from a lack of moderation. If Blizzard were moderating Era, it would have been gone a long time ago.

It grew, and now the vast majority of raids are GDKP to the point you’re complaining about it.

You mean how would life go on if GDKP was banned? Im guessing SR pugs and raid guilds to go with guilds teaming up since all those things already coexist with GDKP as an option. Although I don’t know why Im supposed to be wondering about where the raid population is.
I mean, its still gonna be Classic Era if GDKP is removed so literally nothing would be changed.
Yes, players found out they could buy gold without consequences, which led to GDKP spam.
That is a lack of moderation. Not GDKP being a better loot system. It is an exploit and nothing more.

Okay, so, there’s no GDKP, and now 80-90% of your raiding population has no interest in any raid below AQ40. How long do you think it takes for raiding to dry out?

They are gold sellers running bots trying to get the system banned so they get their customers back.
20,000 Era raiders don’t buy gold because they get all their consume needs from GDKPs.
Imagine if GDKPs are banned, they are lazy players, they don’t want kill ogres and farm flowers, they all buy a little gold each month to perform with consumes - say $50 worth.
20,000 players buying $50 of gold is a $1,000,000 / MRR on the table. It isn’t a huge amount but it is enough to have them troll the forums and create a anti-gdkp movement.
With GDKPs they have no market from 99% of raiders.
It is 2024, disinformation is the name of the game.

GDKP is not only so beyond superior for anyone with a functioning brain, it’s quite literally keeping people who would otherwise raid log their Naxx/AQ40 lockouts going to MC/BWL/AQ20/ZG
If you can’t see that you’d lose 80% or more the raids, and I mean the raid group forming period, 40 people per group suddenly looking for a guild that works with their schedule, then I’m not sure you’re worth discussing anything with because you have no concept of consequences.

Not even a little bit. Buy gold, raid log Naxx. There are no consequences because Era is not being moderated.
Gold buying will never be fully eliminated. Removing the main incentive to buy gold (GDKP) is the only solution that works.
Why would you raid log Naxx once you’re BiS with no GDKP? Come on, you know how WoW works, we all level up and get on the gear treadmill to raid and get more gear. Now what happens when people reach the end and have no incentive to do anything else?
Also, AH is, was, and always will be the end all be all primary incentive for gold buying. The same way it has been for the last 20 years you actual brainlet.

Do you use that gold to gear up an alt in GDKP? …wouldn’t it be a lot easier if you could just play that alt and get gear, instead of needing to raid on 2 characters to gear up 1?
Do you use that gold for consumables? No GDKP would lower prices and would make it actually possible to buy items without farming raids.
Do you just like seeing number of gold go up? My friend, that’s called addiction, and you have a problem.
When the raid takes a fraction of the time to clear because everyone shows up to farm the raid and not prog it it’s actually very easy to raid on multiple characters.
I’m sure since you must be used to spending 4 hours twice a week raiding you can’t comprehend what it’s like to knock out a naxx in an hour, but trust me, when you can do that it saves you a lot of time.

This is you admitting that GDKP makes it impossible for fresh players to compete without buying gold.
If you need to raid on a max geared main to fund your alt: that is a serious problem and not how the game should work. And it’s caused by GDKP.

So do you farm on your main character that has gear? Or do you farm gold and send it to your alt? When you need to buy consumes to raid on the alt.
