Here’s a different question for you.
If I’m a fresh 60 with no gold and no gear and I want to raid MC am I going to try and get into an SR or a GDKP? Which raid do I want to get carried in?

You won’t be allowed in the GDKP.
Follow-up question:
If I’m a fresh, naked, MC-attuned level 54 with no abilities trained and 45,000 gold that I bought online. Which raid am I allowed to join? SR MC or GDKP MC?
Assume you are allowed. Which do you choose?
Either works. If you want to GDKP you go GDKP for the cut only, if you want to SR you join the SR.
They’ve cheated. Who cares what loot system they use? Ban them.
Buyers join GDKPs under certain assumptions. They main one is that they will bid on pve upgrades and have at least enough gold for min bid - which is usually just a few hundred in the entry raids. An amount easily gotten from leveling and getting pre-bis from dungeons.
If one goes to a AQ20 on a fresh warrior and slime kickers drop and they won’t pay min bid, they should get cut no cut.
This is also a problem for mages that join raids, don’t perform, don’t buy upgrades, and thus they lose their cut.
The point is that those players want to get carried and bring nothing, by cutting them and keeping a list of constant offenders, the entire ecosystem benefits. Real buyers that actually will bid on gear have spots, and carries are not giving handouts and wasting their time.
The feature of GDKP is to push those players away unless they actually begin to perform at a level that is useful to the raid.
not if you run as a guild!!! pugs sure thats the case but the game was meant to be played with guild memembers who support and help each other. Not some self entitled children that perverted the ORGIAL GDKP for there own personal gain.
It is very amusing to me that you say someone is “dragging the raid down” to mean failing to whale out on the bids as opposed to causing deaths or doing their role poorly. And you’ll still sit here and say it’s not a paid-carry system from retail.
Buddy GDKPs are a pug system.
There are plenty of guilds on whitemane that have closed guild runs. But they are unrelated.
yeah but theyre a toxic pug system. And should be removed from the game entirley unless they are ran in the Traditional format. Not in todays format that heavily benefits the RL. While also promoting RMT.
A buyer not bidding on pve upgrades is dragging the raid down. Especially if it is min bid.
They will not be better next raid, almost every-single-one of those players cannot do their rotations properly, and have the lowest uptime.
A player performing exceptional but doesn’t have gold will generally be given gold by others just because they see the performance and it only takes a few thousand gold max to get a toon started.
The point is to bring people that help the content get cleared and keep the raid happy.
Lol - in my experience, out of all the anti-gdkp haters, only a very tiny percentage have been non-toxic or decent players.
I think we all know where the issue community is. I’d love a server in which no anti-gdkp players are allowed.
Era was basically like that until y’all pushed away all the remaining players from SoD and now you’re back to infest Era…
Lmfao. Not feeding the pot = dragging the raid down. These are apparently the same thing when you are a disgusting, selfish, greedy RMT shill.
Next raid he will have more gold to spend on what he wants. He could actually be fast-tracking his total DPS. In reality, you don’t care at all. You lie constantly and talk about “hurting the raid” when you actually mean “hurting your bank account”. Actual lying filth.
So, you’re saying a new player needs to get geared AND ALSO farm significant amounts of gold before they can enter AQ/Naxx.
Whereas if GDKP were banned, they would just need to get geared.
Do you not see how this creates unnecessary barriers for newer players?
Their role as a buyer is to come and buy upgrades (while performing at the best of their ability) given their gear.
If they are trying to ‘save gold’ to skip upgrades or just there to get gold but in trash gear - they aren’t a buyer they are a leech trying to get carried.
There are plenty of players that will pay min bids for those upgrades and raids benefit much more from those players.
Most of us will be and have been playing together for years, the desire to group long term with people matters a lot. If a raid leader is brining buyers that don’t buy, and items rot or go under min bid, they will never get carries and thus never form raids.
All buyers eventually become carries, so if a buyer sucks as a buyer early on (they don’t dps properly, have bad attitude, refuse to improve, don’t buy clear upgrades), they are likely to continue to suck for future raids - better to end the relation early and let someone else deal with them.
Is this different from 2006 vanilla? Is this different from 2019 classic? What were you expecting?
And have spent thousands of gold on consumes that they magically farmed while doing it?
And naxx raids would be like max 10% of current because all the carries would stop raiding when they are bis.
Without GDKPs there would be no naxx raiding scene outside the few speed runners who most mostly buy gold, and like a guild or two doing progression until they collapse when officers all get geared.
Makes no sense, because it’s another lie.
“Only people who whale on items and bid the way I want them to do good DPS”.
More like a completely insane conflation to try to say you’re not just selling carries to RMTers.
You wonder why GDKPs are banned in sod and more and more people are pushing for them to be banned in the game in general. This is 100% the reason. all the toxic behavior that you listed here. the contradicting arguments the hypocrisy all of that trash.
Bro we are talking about 200g items in early raids.
If you can’t buy 200g slime kickers and are wearing greens you don’t deserve to be invited into GDKPs.
There is no near-term upgrade for those boots and if one doesn’t get they are showing they will always be a leech - we’ve seen hundreds of those sorts of players.
