Ban Culture of 2024/2025

I’m glad they’ve gotten better at cracking down on these people.

Yawn.

Just no nuance, huh.

Rules have always been the same.

You mean a condensed reminder of the ToS? that also hasn’t changed? The code of conduct was new rules. It was repackaging in a shorter format because, as this thread demonstrates, nobody reads the ToS.

I echo Kennie, you are wrong.

Interesting mea culpa but I’ll take it - cheers.

No they were not. GenZ and after have to be by far the most coddled generation. Ask any Genx about softness and they will tell you.

I mean I said the rules didn’t change

and they didn’t

You’re trying to nitpick over formatting or w/e which isn’t relevant

Throw more reddit argument starter pack buzzwords at me, please

I thought you said you were an adult when the game came out?

Cuz you’re really soft in regards to the concept you get disciplined for breaking rules you agree to follow

Entirely new paragraphs were added in the diff I provided, feel free to read. It wasn’t only formatting. And that’s the last available diff from 2017, let alone the terms of service from launch.

So back in the day you couldn’t slur people or verbally abuse

And nowadays you can’t slur or verbally abuse people

So where’d it change, or did it not

Take your time

And yet you’re so coddled that you’re here whining about not being able to say awful things to people on the internet that you would never have the cajones to say to peoples’ faces.

Come on now buddy. Quit being a lil baby and just be an adult and don’t be a jerk like the rest of us instead of throwing a tantrum about how you can’t get away with bullying people on the internet.

The only “soft whining kids” I see are the ones upset that their crappy behavior has consequences.

I’m still waiting for someone to point out this crying and whining from people that are supposedly offended by what someone else said.

Yes, there are some major changes to the terms. However the rules that cover behavior have remained essentially the same since 2004. Here is the original from game release, with some of the key language rules quoted. The core of that has not changed.

Original User Manual from 2004 https://bnetcmsus-a.akamaihd.net/cms/template_resource/LO0VQ46XB1281555957773363.pdf - which has the EULA at the end. It points to the requirements for accepting Terms of Use with the website for it. I selected the first archived Wayback Machine TOU for WoW from 2004. I have copied out the relevant sections for you. Yes, it included hateful names and speech.

Show me where I have been whining please. I stated that people are soft for not being able to take conflict and a bunch of bleeding hearts have done nothing but quoted me. I told people to move on use the ignore if you are offended by something somebody said.

You can still be a jerk, just don’t pretend you’re some kinda victim when you get punished for it

Why are people purposefully breaking the ToS to insult people? Nobody should expect to log in and face verbal conflict from another player, there is zero reason for it.

People dont have to be offended to report something that is against the rules. Grow up lmao if you are from an older generation then I would expect you to understand the importance of tact, politeness, and keeping your word.

By breaking the ToS you break your word. By Insulting others needlessly, which is pretty much what all online insults are, you show you have zero tact or level of politeness.

Or is the greatest generation still sitting there not knowing how coddled they were? Easily the once generation that benefitted from what would be called socialist policies today.

Thank you, Mira! I just mentioned that you had these links a few minutes ago. :dracthyr_heart:

Literally your first post whining over the concept you can get punished for breaking the ToS you agreed to

Care to source an instance of that change? The social contract wasn’t a social rules change, it was a reminder.

The question was did or did it not change, not that minutia. It changed, you are wrong. If you have anything new of substance to argue I’m happy to reply, but otherwise this’ll be my last reply. Cheers

It did not change. The social contract did not introduce new rules of any kind.
