What is the Community’s Goal in 2024/2025?
I genuinely want to understand what the community’s goal is. Lately, I’ve been seeing more and more players bragging about getting others banned. The game has been around for 20 years, so new players aren’t really a factor anymore. With that in mind, banning players who are actively engaging with the game only hurts the player base further.
I completely agree that bots and hackers should be banned—they’re a huge issue. However, when players are getting banned just because of a disagreement in chat, it seems excessive. Especially when we have an ignore feature that could resolve these situations without escalating things.
Some players are so petty that they’d rather report someone to Blizzard and have their entire account suspended instead of just using the ignore feature. Can we discuss whether this is truly helping the community in the long run?

There are some things that people need to be banned for. Extreme racism is one.

“Disagreement” umhmm. People don’t get banned for disagreeing. They get banned for forgetting how to disagree in a civil manner.
(See, I just disagreed with you, and I’m not going to get banned. It’s pretty easy, really)

If I get banned for saying I support dungeons/raids being more accessible similar to the treatment PVP is getting, then it proves the OP’s point.

Ive been here since 2005 and never had a ban or any other type of discipline taken against me. Sounds like a them problem. I just turned off all chat and been happy ever since.

No, it doesn’t. Anybody banned for verbal makes a new account within like 30 minutes.

It’s getting people who violate the rules out of the community. That’s a benefit. Nobody can get someone else banned, if you don’t break the rules you’ll be fine.
