gms are human and have bias and will not agree on things and intrepid things. that is another reason you cant trust cooperations and anything they say.

plus if you work for a company pay or not you are obligated not to speak bad of them as per contracts otherwise you get replaced or disciplined. ban culture or rather cancel culture exists and that is what ban culture is on wow. all we the players want is the truth and not to be gaslighted which is highly disrespectful to the players, we the ones who give the company money the thing that allows said company to even exist in the firstplace.

This is a really good point. When someone says “that’s not true because this Blizzard employee said it’s not” is akin to someone on the Microsoft forums saying “Xbox is the best console because this employee of Microsoft said it is”.

The World of Warcraft community has changed a lot because many people now treat words like weapons. Blizzard seem so afraid of cancel culture that they often take the easy way out by giving in to those who are quick to feel offended. This has led to a space where open discussion feels risky, and strong opinions are avoided to keep from upsetting anyone. It feels like the focus is more on pleasing the loudest voices than on maintaining the spirit of the game and its community.

The alternative is to believe everything you read on the internet.
One’s own eyes make it pretty clear the problem is mostly imaginary. However the system actually works, if it was being abused, we’d be hearing way more complaints about it than random people saying “a friend of a friend on discord said…”
That is always the issue with people defending free speech isn’t it? You don’t really ever have friends in an argument.
Whatever political side snags power will always see you as a thorn in their side. To many champion their own preferences over the concept itself.
I think it’s just a matter of not being naive and checking your sources. I’ve seen Blizzard employees say things that were wrong, I’ve seen Discord friends say things that were wrong.
People who blindly believe because of who someone is, would be appeal to authority fallacy.
It’s almost as bad as all these people in my city who say something is truth because they saw it on tik tok.
