Sure: “angry mobs”
so, it boils down to some people just don’t like freedom of speech and not discussing things because it hurts their feelings, so I guess we just all become brain dead and discuss nothing, and hence why people don’t socialize again proving my point.
It all actually boils down to
You agreed to these rules, grow up and actually follow them
It’s not that deep
There’s no freedom of speech on private property. You agreed to rules, if you no longer wish to follow them, leave the private space where they apply.
and we can see where your point of view gets us, it gets us to a point of no socializing or people interacting, so you are dead wrong about your view points. or you could just let people talk how they want to and about what they want and watch the social aspect of the game flourish.
giggles
No, it isn’t. Plenty of people socialize and interact in this game. I see it all the time. I do it all the time, too.
Nah. That is not at all what most of it was. The pitchforks and fire were for witches, heretics, murders, etc. Often trial by public opinion and a horrible result - their life.
Shunning, expulsion from town, and blackballing out of an industry is an organized and thought out process based on accepted social and moral conventions of the times.
Those accepted social conventions change over the centuries obviously. Things are permitted now that never were then. I am thankful for that. I am not forced to worship a god, or praise a leader. The whole “be nice to people and don’t spew antisocial hatred” are pretty common still though. I mean, you CAN do it, but there will be consequences.
Lol.
We LOVE free speech, private property rights, and the Constitution in general. What we don’t like is people who never read it or took a civics class. They try to apply freeze peach to private property where they have rules to follow.
Your right to speak out against your government and leaders on public property without fear or arrest by the govt has not been infringed on. I promise. A private video game is not the govt.
Fun fact, private property owners can even set dress codes that you have to follow or get removed! It is not just behavior or language that private property owners get to control. Fun fun right?
Just sort of sits in the middle of two extremes eating popcorn as a chaotic neutral
True and real
I don’t get the point of posting a chapter to say " the rules are what they are at this time".
We know it isn’t really what is being discussed.
You can do that in private chat or private groups. Nobody is stopping you. Blizzard is not watching.
What you can’t do is use the global chat and public groups to do it around strangers of all ages and backgrounds. They WILL report you. They are not your friends who share your humor or interests. They are there to play a game.
Rules have always been against racism, sexism, extreme profanity
People get muted for these things, then act like the rules have changed
I am cutting veggies and about to sear a beef roast before putting it all in the oven. Making a tender, slow cooked, oven pot roast. To be served with mashed potatoes, gravy, broccoli, home made crusty rosemary bread. I have decided that is my holiday meal for the week!
Only reason I honestly hate Thanksgiving and Christmas, is knowing I’m gonna be doing the vast majority of the preparation for the household, as someone with two disabled older parents.
The letter or the law enjoyers vs the spirit of the law enjoyers.
There is so much me-first toxicity in this game any more. It’s sad.
Then again, you not thinking extreme racism should be banned is concerning.
The spirit of the laws in the US respect the rights of the people to speak out against their government and leaders without fear of arrest. They also respect the rights of the citizens to have and own private property. Private property they get to set the rules on without interference from outsiders, including the government (within some limits). That is why legal fights about what a business can do, and who they have to serve, exist. The Supreme court recently ruled in favor of the private business with regard to custom made items bearing motifs they don’t agree with value wise. Off the shelf pre-made things were not impacted, but they don’t have to make a cake with an offensive (to them) saying or design.
The rights of private businesses and private property owners are solid - and your right to speak out against the govt does not get to stomp on private property owner’s rights.
I don’t know your country of origin but in the United states they absolutely can. There was a whole thing about baking a cake…
Im sure you will run to exceptions but in doing so you already yield.
Im also not comfortable with the amount of power commercial entities hold in the modern day but that is a whole other subject.
Right - the baker as a private business owner had the right to decline to make a custom cake they objected to. Recent supreme court ruling backed that.
YES! That I agree with in spades. It is a very different topic though about how private individuals, and businesses, influence the politics that drive laws and regulations.
Not a topic for here though.
