Balancing the Vote-Kick Penalty: A Call for Change

You’re literally posting on a Classic character lol.

Don’t know how to change it and received feedback that trying to change it could cause glitches or something, not sure. I rarely post on these forums. I posted the other day because I encountered the same issue, I didn’t know that many people were having the same issue. But my main is the same name on Proudmoore if you think I’m hiding something.

Sure bud, whatever you say lol.

Still waiting for you to show where I was defending trolling.

I wouldnt mess with it. You dont OWE that one anything.
This forum software is garbage and lately its been bugging out AT TIMES so if you swap alts or log out you cant get back in.
Its happened to me twice now.

People complained solo shuffle was extra toxic (it is), so it doesn’t take more than 1-2 reports for action to be taken. The first infraction is a 1 week silence. I forget the escalation schedule, but it turns into an account suspension pretty quickly.

Definitely not like trade chat where it would take 5-10 reports to silence someone and that would be the end of it.

Those are for infractions, given by GMs. Not automated. Only GMs or the Hacks team can issue account actions above the 24 hour or less spam silence.

Keep waiting then. Your opinion is irrelevant. You are either telling the truth and haven’t played for over 2 years and are still paying for a game you’re not playing because you can’t post on the forums without an active subscription, or you are a liar. Either way, your opinion is completely suspect and irrelevant.

So is yours.

Kind of what everyone has been saying, Blizzard has already deemed the vote kick system as working as intended. Everyone’s opinion’s are irrelevant lol.

How about option 3

Let people leave groups they no longer want to be a part of. Get rid of the penalty altogether, or allow 3 strikes per day before starting to penalise you.

This died with cross realm and LFD.

It’s working as currently intended. Players vote, they have no say. They literally changed how it works due to player feedback a couple of months ago, this is just more player feedback because their change clearly has consequences that might be other than what they intended. Hence the multitude of threads about the topic. When LFD was first implemented the rules weren’t as they are now, they changed. Incentives have been added to players, and penalties have been added. They have tweaked the system multiple times. The nuclear bomb worked as intended, it didn’t make Oppenheimer regret it any less.

The only thing that has changed is the penalty, the actual system is still the same lol. Unless they decide to make it 4 votes to remove someone, nothing has changed.

See right there. Originally it only took 3 votes even if those three qued together. That got abused so they made a change after player feedback and made it so you had to get the 4 person to agree. You’re making my point for me. But which is it? Are you still paying for a game you admitted you no longer play, or are you a liar? It can literally only be one of the two things.

It’s always been 4 if they were grouped lol.

Edit: Nope, I’m wrong. They changed it like some months or a year after, I forgot about that. Either way, that was back during Wrath or Cata and hasn’t changed since lol.

Personally with each kick on the account the debuff should go up 15mins or more up to a permaban.

With that said, there should be an appeal process re-installed about false kicks.

LMAO…under NO circumstances should PLAYERS EVER have ANY power to cause bans. lmao
The suggestion is BEYOND absurd

It has changed since. It wasn’t until a couple of weeks into the expansion they changed it so you get Dungeon Deserter if you get kicked. You also used to be able to leave after the first boss without Deserter. Also, they didn’t originally offer the extra bag of goods for roles in most need, and they added an extra bag for Oculus to encourage players to stay even after they implemented deserter. Since it was apparently one dungeon causing this problem because it had a pre-season BIS item that they made the most recent change in TWW, maybe they should have just added a bag of goods instead of penalizing players who can’t be kicked for any reason, even bad and unjust ones.

I already said the only changes since have been penalties, not the system itself lol. The system itself has been the same for like 13-14 years. Why? Because it worked and continues to work.

Really? Huh. When did this happen? Because relatively early into TWW — I wanna say mid to late September — I was in a run where the tank was being an absolute jerk; he flat out ignored our healers who kept dying to casters, and when we DPS and healer wiped to a boss (due to the tank failing to follow mechanics) at about 75%, the tank insisted on soloing the boss.

At this point, we were already on our 4th (!) healer and 2nd DPS. (Me and a mage stubbornly stuck it out. The 3rd DPS left… and another…)

After 12 minutes, the tank finally died to the boss. A vote was immediately initiated to kick the tank.

Here’s the thing: I didn’t even have a chance to hit “yes” before the tank was gone.

The vote passed THAT quickly, I didn’t get to react. It passed with 3 votes, not 4.

So I’m legitimately surprised to read this claim.

It takes 4 if there is a group of 3 premade in the party.
