dual-spec has some downsides and ain’t worth it, but I don’t feel like explaining why that is ITT
Paladins could tank in TBC. In fact in WotLK Prot Paladins were overpowered once they gave Ardent Defender a passive cheat death cooldown.
Private servers also have no issues with people running end game despite running static 1.12 with no buffing of Druid/Paladin tanks. Trying to be alarmist and claiming “but people will struggle to find groups!” wont help your point because it’s simply not true.
Plus Blizzard has said that they’re not doing any balance changes anyway. As a Druid or Paladin you can easily tank dungeons, and maybe get away with it in a raid if you’re lucky but if you want to main tank a raid: Play a Warrior.
do you realize just how many changes it would take to make it so non warrior tanks could main tank in raids?
Paladins would need a taunt.
Paladins would need a mana regeneration mechanic.
Paladins would need the talent Redoubt changed.
you would need to add entire gearsets to each raid for both Paladin and Druids.
oh and by the way. after all that is done, Alliance ends up with 1 more tank then horde.
Stopped right there because that’s false. Maybe not the cream of the crop, which is still wrong, but many raids will take hybrid dps in their raids. Just not a lot of them.
I’ve learned something today, Growlz. You are not allowed to want anything other than what the #nochanges people want.
You like the idea of Death Knights. I want my Goblin. That is high heresy, and we’ll get beheaded if we mention it a second time, okay.
Back away slowly. Don’t mention any of this again. We’re not allowed to have dissenting opinions or different ideas about the game. We have no place in Classic (doesn’t matter how much of Vanilla you played or how well or how long or how much you loved it…you have no place there! Learn it!). I learned that, too.
Seriously, dude. Walk away…slowly and without making any eye contact.
The whole goal is to go back to what was.
Not classic+
Not gonna happen.
What part of the word no, did you have trouble understanding?
lol no.
Nope. You did not.
Not gonna happen.
LOL… I can’t tell if you are serious or if you are trolling. Hmmm… definitely trolling.
no, you can’t.
The test results are in… and it was determined that you are lying.
wow this post is insanely dumb
You do understand how DKs and Goblins would cause major game breaking changes right?
First off DKs, yeah they start at lvl 58. They’re not attended to be anything lower than that. Talent wise they would be a major screw ups all over the place due to again, having talents designed around being level 80 not 60.
While not as bad as DKs, Goblins and their racials would be game changing with the limit resources classes have in Vanilla. That rocket jump would be so broken.
So take away the rocket jump. Problem solved.
The problem is how dismissive, ugly, and unkind the population on these forums are. I’m really blown away by it.
I was SO stoked to get my old game back, but the attitudes in here are beyond the pale. Why would anyone want to play with people who talk to others the way this forum does?
I’ve wanted vanilla back since a week into BC. I’m going to play and I’ll play with my old guildmates who are also looking forward to having the band back together. But the shrill brand of smug this population is projecting will scare people away, and if you want a thriving community that remains viable and hosted for a long time, then you’ll have to learn to tolerate people who didn’t play on a private server and adopt this idea that an added spell would “break the game.”
Because it wouldn’t. You know that, right? They added spells and changed rotations and talent trees in vanilla. Nobody died and the game didn’t break.
Question for you.
Why is it okay for people to come in here and ask for post vanilla changes being added to vanilla.
But not okay for us to say no?
The whole point of classic, even according to blizzard is to go back to what they did back then.
The point isn’t to make it classic +.
The point isn’t to make this like osrs.
The whole point is to make classic.
Even blizzard agrees with that.thag
I’m wishing more and more that Current and Classic WoW had separate subs.
From your low post count I can tell you’re new here. This is common across on the forums sadly. I mostly only hang out or take part in the Story/Lore section of the forums because that is what I find the most interesting, but since I’m looking forward to playing Classic I decided to participate here as well.
Trolls always exists, people with strong opinions will always exists, it’s best not to take it personally.
However your response about the game didn’t break is not true. Many times Blizzard changed something/added something then they had to quickly hot fix it. Look at Reckoning Bomb.
Taking away rocket jump would defeat the purpose of adding Goblins no? Than you would have to give them a brand new racial which could cause additional problems.
I feel like keeping things the way it was is not only is a way for Blizzard to market better to the purist crowd, but it also allows them to keep things simple for them. I don’t think Blizzard wants to make any changes that didn’t already exist within Vanilla to cause more additional problems down the line. I get the feeling Blizzard will release Classic and have a complete hands off approach unless major bugs occur.
You do realize that Goblins were not a playable race in Vanilla right? If you want to play Goblins that badly… you can already do that in BfA but I’m sure you know that already.
Continuing the discussion from Wow classic cost?:
His point was he wants seperate subs from retail. That way those who want to play classic have to sub to classic.
Basically he wants 1 sub per game as opposed to 1 sub for both to keep people from retail from trolling.
Yeah I honestly don’t see that happening. Unless I see something that tells me otherwise, to me it looks like Blizzard will use Classic as a way to try to keep the retail player subbed by having content they can do during a content drought in retail.
How they release Classic and the following “patches” later will either confirm or break this view point.
Oh I understand that. It’s just frustrating dealing with all these people who want to make classic not classic.
It’s like they don’t even understand (or care) about the point.
shutup and main a warrior of you want to be a tank. Generalizing roles is what gave you retail WoW today. Play retail or play a vanilla Paladin
Question for you.
Why is it okay for people to come in here and ask for post vanilla changes being added to vanilla.
But not okay for us to say no?
Because you don’t get to say, “no.” I have the same subscription you’re gonna have/do have. You don’t get to tell me what I can and can’t want/wish for/like. You can tell me you hope they don’t do what I said and give your reason. If you tire of explaining it over and over to different people, post links to your posts in previous conversations. Or–and this is a revolutionary thought–just let people have an opinion that isn’t in lockstep with yours and call it a day without comment.
But you don’t get to tell me “no” and expect me to just say, “Yes, Daddy. Sorry I stepped out of line.” Because you’re not my daddy and I didn’t step out of line for wishing Classic could include goblins…or transmog…or Fps without connections…or whatever other thing someone comes in and says they would like. The few civil people I read today gave really good reasons, and I enjoyed the perspective. The majority, however, are toxic, mean, entitled, and nasty.
Now, Matcauthon, I’ve seen you on forums today as I was reading through, and you’re not one of the posters who stuck out as particularly ridiculous/unkind, so it’s not you in particular I’m speaking to. It’s the community as a whole.
It doesn’t matter in the long run how put off I am or how utterly fire-bombed I get in this forum after posting this because I’m going to roll classic with my friends no matter what anyone else does. I’m there. I’m gonna play. I’m going to love it, and nothing someone on this forum says to me is going to affect that. I’m a guaranteed number on the spreadsheet.
It does, however, concern me that innocent WoW players expressing curiosity in classic get shot down and beaten to death for asking simple questions and not understanding why they get dog piled. When they get defensive because this is the internet, the lot of you gang up and say, “See?! he got mad. We knew it. He’s a troll.”
That guy isn’t gonna roll a classic toon because you guys went nuts on him, and if that happens enough, the servers will be deserts and Blizzard isn’t going to put any more money and resources into this. Which would suck. Because I’ve been wanting to play vanilla again as long as any of you, and I want it to succeed.
It’s okay for people to say what they like/wish for/want. It’s okay for you to say, “well that’s not what I like/wish for/want.” It’s okay for you to passionately explain WHY you don’t like it/wish for it/want it.
But you don’t get to say, “no.” That’s Blizzard’s job.
