And I explained that ruins my game - because earning the reward is important. If they make it account wide I will be doing all that for nothing.
And you still haven’t addressed how this just doesn’t result in people receiving all these for free anyway. What difference would it make to you if you just logged in and you had all the appearances but my game remained exactly the same.
Maybe they should just give everyone a cheater option in the game - click here if you want the rewards without doing the content.
simple fix: You log on and a message pops up
HELLO! and welcome to world of warcraft, we have detected you play alternate characters and some of those achievements earned by them are not granted here! Would you like to aloud account wide achievements so these rewards, items, and titles are shared across your whole account? Or if you like select which characters you would like to share these with! Once you share these achievements this is not reversible but if you happen to be unsure now and opt “no” you can always return to this choice later!
Simple fix.
I would rather not have that option. I would rather you guys just be given them - maybe have to go into customer service and tick a box and they get sent to you.
Alternatively, they can just make it account wide and you can just not use it on alts that you don’t feel have earned it until you complete the Balance of Power quest.

I’ll give a recent example. I did the Priest order hall campaign (I have all 12 done and the FoS achievement for it) on an alt, and later when BFA was coming out, decided to reroll and boost another Priest on an Allied Race.
Didn’t really think about it, as the Artifact weapons and mount were already unlocked. Then I decided to play him in SL, and noticed that the title didn’t exist. Which was weird, since after all, I -DID- that content and earned the rewards and stuff.
So instead of being an enjoyable process, I had to go back and grind out some Legion crap, work on leveling up followers, and basically redoing the EXACT SAME WORK I’D DONE BEFORE just to “earn” the same flipping title that I’d already earned the first time.
Grind for the sheer sake of grind is neither fun or rewarding. It’s just grind wasting everyone’s time.

← Did Balance of Power on 3 characters by now, 1 after Legion during BfA because I wanted that weapon look.
IMO Legion’s Balance of Power and class mount chain are beautiful exemples of evergreen content (content that’s always worth coming back for) with a purely cosmetic incentive. We need more of this type of content that incentivizes and rewards relevance in all parts of the game.
Making Balance of Power account bound would be a bad concession that obsoletes yet again good evergreen content in favor of instant gratification. Yes, the quest is friction between some players and immediately “getting what they want”. But it’s good friction.
That being said: it would make sense if it was class bound (i.e., you do it on one Priest).

I mean the outline for mine is to detect who wants this feature and not. customer service can not answer which surely will be over 2 million request, and they also can’t read the minds of this one wants it and this one does not.
Just because something is account wide does no way take from your precious little achievement. You can still feel special and unique regardless.

this is an ongoing problem - best thing would be to fix it in a manner that works best for everyone. I already told you your solution doesn’t fix things for me it ruins the game for me and I wouldn’t use those anyway most likely - just like most of you if you are trying to do them on all classes/spec.
After thinking about it a bit maybe they should have something on the account page - a check box that lets people play this game in an account wide manner or not. If they did that I would like the option to have almost all the current account wide stuff reversed. Probably even including mounts. I am not sure about pets but maybe that as well.
I like to play my characters as individuals and have them earn things by themselves.
see above.
It would probably cause problems if it came up in the game anyway because people would make a decision not realizing what they are getting into.
maybe if you would actually read my objection to this instead of projecting your attitudes onto me you might be less insulting.
If you took that as insulting than you have bigger problems than just account wide collections
I still hope they make it account-bound but that is a genuinely helpful tip, thank you

I’m currently hunting down a few reputation farms I haven’t done yet (close to 100) and I came across several farms which have been made easier over time. One reputation can be done, as an example, within 5 minute of work from Neutral to Exalted by turning in 22 items for 120 gold.
Doesn’t take this also the effort away people have done before? Yes, it does. But this is not about them, or you. These shortcuts have been introduced because it was acceptable at the given time to do these but are obsolete or just bad game design nowadays. You can complain all day and night long but you are not the target audience anymore. You did it when it was relevant to you (“first buyer”) and the game continues on with easier accessible content without you.

You keep preaching like you are talking for blizzard. Show me some proof that they don’t care about my business and they only care about the lazy people who want shortcuts all the time.
Your argument also tells me you didn’t even bother understanding my concerns about this or maybe you are just one that likes to project.
In addition, this thread isn’t about account wide rep.
that isn’t what this is - this thread is about giving people a bunch of free stuff for doing nothing at this point.
I see you’re still spouting your bad faith narrative.
Asking to do a questline once for an account wide achievement isn’t asking to be handed free stuff for doing nothing.
A lot of stuff is going account wide next expansion. Maybe you need to play some other MMORPGs and get with the times.
This achiev being account wide is no different than the PvP achieves being account wide for those skins.
Keep tilting at windmills, though.
The level of effort is entirely different.
You’re right. The PvP one is much more time consuming and an actual grind— especially for casuals. Thanks for proving my point.
I got Honor 70 strictly from Wardens Towers during Legion across my 12 toons at the time.
Getting 80 for the last appearance took very little actual pvp, and it was all done from level 10-50.
