What else could they possibly have thought he would do? Give up and go home? Again, this is not a huge issue for the forsaken in the first place. They have no issues killing their own.

I think those forsaken were trying to help the Scarlet Onslaught, as he remarks that they were captured several times.
There’s also the possibility that the Captain/Navigator/Jailer were also dirtbags, but their deaths will probably just get pinned on Baine.

He didnt murder any Horde soldiers in Tides of War. He believed Garrosh was going to move against Theramore immediately his warning was to get them to evacuate.

It was Garrosh who waited and waited for the Alliance to send reinforcements which made the battle costly for the Horde. You cant blame Baine for not knowing the future anymore than Nathanos.

Lots of ways to get him out without killing the crew.

Light the ship on fire or sink it with a bomb to get them to pull everyone off the ship. Then order the crew to hunt down the “Alliance” saboteurs and when they leave just take him.

Show up with counterfeit orders to take Derek.

Say an Alliance force is coming to attack and the crew needs to stop them. Then circle back and get Derek.

Just beat the crap out of the crew instead of killing them. Baine should have no problem just breaking their limbs and rendering them unable to fight.

Seriously, forsaken use to melt and kill each other left and right for all sorts of reasons. The guys play real fast and loose with unlife. Oops, melted my co worker. Better sweep that up! Part of the appeal imo.

Look nothing about any of this makes sense. Forsaken assassins sent to confuse their loyal family who should hate and kill undead on sight? Baine drawing the line at derek, not the tree burning or raising a ton of undead like Stone and Valentine. How about letting him go through with it to reveal his disloyalty. This entire cinematic should have happened ON the boat before he ever freed derek.

Still, sending the player with anyone and telling him to do whatever is necessary is obviously going to get people killed. Murder Hobos! We kill everything that moves.

Worst part is what Baine says after you kill everyone for the key

“I was worried I would have to bend the bars apart”…because Baine not hurting his hands is somehow more important than Horde lives.

I don’t know what’s worse. That the alliance pretend to care more about forsaken lives then the forsaken do, or that the horde still preaches raising people as awful. I don’t know how the horde is still like, :open_mouth: you raised undead?! How could you! And the alliance is like, I baked coooookiiiies!!

What’s even the point of her being warchief? She could have still done everything she’s doing now with voljin still in charge and then it would be her constantly justifying it to him. Basically being the general in the stonetalon story arc.

I mean. Garrosh can fill the spot too and we killed him for less. come on.

Here’s the path Blizzard can take from here

  • Keep the scene/narrative as is
  • Change the scene/narrative but still keep main storybeat (Baine getting jailed/exiled)
  • Completely change the scene/narrative entirely

Either way at this point, being unsubbed, I’m just here for morbid curiosity to see how Blizzard can screw up more. There’s a small smidge of hope that somehow this crap narrative can course-correct but I’m not sticking around with blatant emotional manipulation wrapped up in repeating stories that have already been told.
