There’s plenty of material to work with on Tauren, all the lore exists, blizzard just simply ignores it because it’s not a human, orc or elf.

Something else that should be mentioned is that the Horde pre-council was dictatorial in nature. People keep forgetting that Horde players are made to swear an oath of absolute obedience to the Warchief in the opening quests in Boreal Tundra. Baine openly rebelling at the time would have fractured the Horde in a way not dissimilar to what happened during Garosh’s reign, and he to a degree knew it.
Given there is an entire plot about the fighting betwen light and Dark, you could easily have some lore related to the Tauren Religion surrounding An’she. The Masculine Deific representation of the sun.
Alternatively, you could make Tauren characters actually do things. I’m told I missed some Baine content in Dragonflight, that I need to review to see if it was any good. But something besides just sideling them would be nice.
Could also touch on the plot between the fighting between them in the quillboar, given the Quillboar aligned themselves with the scourge. Same alongside the Centaur. There are some very minor quests revolving around these two factions that are largely completely irrelevant these days because no one even quests in the zone anymore.
Alternatively you can focus on Tauren that might not be fully connected to their roots, some explainations on why the Tauren’s allowable classes expanded with some actual lore reasons for some of them would not go amiss.

Nitpick, but I don’t think Horde players do that but are leading/directing the Taunka in doing so.
But the Blood Oath raises another question, does it still apply if the Warchief changes or does it need to be re-done when that happens?
Cairne made a blood oath to Thrall, no one made a blood oath to the cry baby or the emo witch.
Something people also keep glossing over.
That was my point, for Garrosj, if anyone made the Blood Path to him, it would be the Goblins and Horde Pandarin, all others before made their oath to Thrall or one of his predecessors. For Sylvanas, it would be any of the Allied races.
Blood Oaths aren’t eternally binding like a devils contract. Otherwise Situations like the Mak’gora would be completely infeasible.
Not sure about the Warchief but Baine talks about it being to the Horde.
But, by that token, would the oath not mean doing what is good for the Horde and going AGAINST a warchief that has gone loco?
I just hope one day we get the war chief we deserve. GAMON. the man charged in during siege of org. he was ready to throw down with his halberd and cloth gear.

Dude, this makes no sense.
There are plenty of other tauren in TB that can take over being the leader and none of them have killed their own the way Magatha did.

They shoulda made Baine go full Sunwalker, and made him a Retribution Paladin and Herald of An’she.
The shock of the Maw sure could have caused problems (Trauma can be a great story motivating factor for characters), but I personally believe he should have rebounded hard once getting home and getting some spiritual advice.
Baine’s been playing the Soft Side of the Tauren for too long. The whole point is slow to anger, but I think he seriously needs to break some baddies, and threats against his people.
Lok’tar ogar! Victory or death - it is these words that bind me to the Horde. For they are the most sacred and fundamental of truths to any warrior of the Horde.

They can’t do anything with Tauren because it’s like the most insensitive to IRL people piece in the entire game. All American Indians are Minotaurs? First Nations are Buffalo? Like, what? Love the Tauren though, honestly it’s the best race, I’ve even come to appreciate fem Tauren.
