Bad Idea, RDF is needed in 2022

Had a boosted tank yesterday, it certainly was a struggle. I considered leaving several times.

I’m not saying any of the content is hard in the slightest, but there are players with relatively low skill and no gear.

Also, I leveled through Wrath back in the day lol. Hence why I’m burnt out before starting.

People were being entitled ever since tthe release of WoW back in 2004. Don’t start this false lie when it was like this all the time.

Dungeon Finder wasn’t a mistake.

  1. The game wasn’t just designed to be for the most hardcore of players.
  2. The hardcore of players shouldn’t decide on the development of the game either.

Yeah, nice trolling. Providing feedback about certain aspects or stuff is not whining. Big difference.

That’s really not true. The game had no growth for the first 13 months of wrath. It had no growth for the next 10 months after rdf was released. In the last couple months of wrath the subs rose 500k. The decline didn’t start until a few months into Cata.

If Blizzard created a realm with RDF and JJ, even a fresh realm with no transfers, that’d make everyone happy tbh but the reason people don’t want to suggest new realms with those is they know how popular they’d be lol

And I think you are wrong. My main was always a healer in og and in classic. I played from vanilla through wrath. I did lots of dungeons both because it was easy to find a group as a healer and because I think dungeons are fun. My experience with pugs is almost no one chatted in almost every pug is was in. I saw no difference when rdf was added. You could claim I’m antisocial. Let’s hypothetically say that I am. That still wouldn’t stop the other 4 players from chatting up a storm while I stayed silent. I’ve had seem them chatting away. But most people most of the time seemed exactly like me. They weren’t chatting in pugs either.

In my experience with Wrath + RDF, it was like, every 5th group or so was nice and social, more so if you initiated it yourself. And good groups that all performed well would decide to stay together and keep doing dungeons, and friends were still easy to make.

Now it feels like… everyone’s tired and just want it to be over because of how tedious it was to get to the dungeon with a full party

It’s fine to have that opinion, but many of us disagree. I’ve talked to a lot of pvpers who claim retail began with flying which ruined wpvp. The line for me between retail and the original game is when they made the changes to the talents in Cata. I don’t see any of the changes in wrath as leading to retail.

at least we agree that the scr00bzors shouldn’t decide game direction. it’s a start.

I agree. When Heroic+ becomes a thing leave it out so the non RDF people have their harder to form groups.

It isn’t nice to talk about yourself like that.

I’m basically given up about posting threads about wanting RDF, since Blizzard likely doesn’t read this. So yes I am for RDF 100%, but I’ve also stopped caring since Blizzard doesn’t care about us, they know we’ll just play the game regardless, Wrath is that good of an expansion, but I feel like these Northrend boxes could ruin the game/economy or at least Alchemy and Elixirs.

If they actually did “listen to feedback” they’d know that a lot of people do want and enjoy RDF. And yes I know a lot of people also don’t want it.

It’s all about getting people to just boost to 70 because they will get burnt out or bored of questing or not be able to fill a group on the lower pop servers. This is why Joyous Journeys buff I think was a great change, and its unfortunate that its gone now.

Also they might be waiting to see if people actually do quit the game and then add it in to get anyone who did quit to resub.

It’s very unlikely that anyone that is Anti-RDF will unsub if they added RDF. There are threads of people saying they will, but honestly I said I would unsub if they didn’t add it, but truth is I still want to play the game.

Although I will argue that Blizzard’s reason (social experience) is complete BS. I’ve been playing with 3 friends that just started playing on Wrath release. We’re playing in Discord and having a great time. We started as Night Elves, have done every quest in Teldrasil, and are now Level 16 in Darkshore doing those quests there. We queued for a couple BGs just to see what’s its like. It was okay but we are really more focused on PvE content. It does really suck that we can’t just queue for a RDF dungeon while out here questing in Darkshore. Instead we would have to basically stop what were doing and waste an hour traveling there, and then go back to a main city every two levels to train.

I’m beginning to think no RDF is more about slowing players down so they’ll stay subbed longer. Or just forcing boosts for money.

They added these Northrend Supply Boxes or whatever to try and increase tanks and healers, but you still have to travel extremely far on a ground mount or fly first on a flight master to get there, wasting a huge amount of time. For someone with not alot of time to play the game, this likely means you will have time to do about 1 dungeon and then not feel like doing another all night.

The RDF how it used to be, with rewards for roles that are needed and badges given/gold given would still boost tanks and healers, but it would allow them to actually do things while waiting for the dungeon group to form, so you could literally remove the boxes from the game, and just allow people to go farm/herb/explore or whatever, and actually be out in the world.

LFG how it is right now really just means you will spend just as much time traveling to the dungeon as actually running it, and be way less effective when it comes to doing quests/grinding or farming for professions. In a way you can argue it actually makes the game less social since you’re just on a flight path not seeing anyone out in the world and then you just summon and run in.

tbh i barely think about rdf leveling in game from 70-80

definitely thought i would care more than i actually do. i was a boosted character and i got into random groups pretty quickly when i wanted to. idk

Some good arguments here and some good ideas as well. Seems like most do want RDF and its understandable.

I like the idea of leaving current heroics out of RDF, that is high tier content that should feel rewarding doing.
I agree, REMOVE the buff or make it not as strong.
Creating a specific realm could be an idea, but I do not think it would work with how current servers are.
As for adding it later on, I agree and disagree. Wrath is the last expansion for most people, many will quit WoW for good after this.
RDF doesn’t make the game “easier”, faster, yes. But why is this a problem? Most of us will just level our alts, not our mains.

Doing dungeon content from 1-70 will be near impossible now.

Umm could we please have our proper dungeon finder… what are you doing?
What are you being paid for?

Enjoy your abundance…

The world cruds on us enough, you don’t need to add more crud to our day please.
Just add the optimal, ideal, logical, proper Dungeon Finder please lol you are being regressive can’t you see?

Its not “back in the day” anymore

I’m 32 years old married and a father. I’ve been playing since this game came out… RDF is 100% a great feature to this game as not everyone is unemployed rotting in a basement suite on welfare because they are a loyal purist to classic wow… some of us don’t have time to run to a dungeon or start a dungeon and have someone leave 5 minutes in then waste more time searching for a filler… people who complain about RDF need to lock their doors, shut off the internet, turn out the lights and save the world from their unruly incredibly annoying existence. They are likely the same people who cry about the additions diablo 2 is adding(which are totally awesome too) and cried for refunds at launch. RDF needs to come back. I agree with you 100%

As a Community, we do not want RDF!

Time: your personal schedule is not a basis for game design

Social aspect: the social aspect is because you are less likely to interact with people on your server

Content: this is a blatant lie, and both classic and tbc history disprove it

“Feel”: Agreed. But this is an argument against hypocrisy, and doesn’t address why RDF would be a good thing.

These are terrible arguments. With that said, I want RDF. Instantly teleport to dungeons, I plan on charging dps to use my tank insta queue, and I can still vote kick anyone that underperforms.

Me? I am for RDF and also want it ingame if you read my full post.
