I don’t like it when Blizzard takes things away. The upside is that WoW is still under active development and these decisions are being made for the long term evolution of the game. Whether it works out in the end, only time will tell. Even with something like flying and Pathfinder, the player base is divided.
If you want a static game where you get to keep everything, then you are pretty much limited to Classic.
"ugh…then READ the thread before posting.
I had nigh on 60 characters…MOST of which DONT GET the free equipment.
I have to BUY it all for most of my characters…for crap I had just yesterday for the work I did already.
really not sure whats so hard to comprehend here."
sure looks like its for the mount? since it’s called mount equipment and it’s… attached to the mount. But yes… its character specific which i find dumb.
at this point i’m pretty sure you’re just a troll… no one gets this upset over a mount bud. Move on.
not really. i’m here to basically because people like you that get so bent out of shape are very funny.
I’m not mad, just… the mount equipment “thing” would have been an OK change if they made it a mount-based slot. But as a character-based slot that applies ONE piece of mount equipment to ALL of your mounts, that’s… just… I don’t think I have words to express how dumb that is.
go read the actually info or just stop talking.
100+ characters are the ONLY ones who get the equipment mailed to them. The others have to be PAID for.
Easy enough.
And speaking of ‘whiny’ …we arent the ones crying over other players choice of mounts
Give water-striders ww again and/or add/remove the equipment slot.
Make mount equipment slot unique per mount, not per toon.
I honestly have no idea why they made such a stupid change. If anything they should have leaned into unique mounts.
Frogs get double jump, striders get ww, yak has repair/mog, longboi ah, etc., etc.
The current system is stupid … an artifical system put in place to get you come 9.0, because WW is somehow OP (when crossing rivers/ponds I guess). As if WW isn’t completely dependent on zone design.
Gathering routes typical dodge most quest zones, if you were a farmer you’d know this and would learn the path to farm is one of the least resistance. You can make profit if all those questers are popping convenience nodes. Don’t @ me. You lost all credibility. All things considered, the other actual gold farmers in here say the same thing so I’m not alone.
You farm to fuel your professions, not to fill your bags and your pockets. We are on two different levels. There’s no comparison. So as I said when you’re out as much as me you would have seen them, so you’re not. Therefore you can’t actually say you see what I see.
I stated this earlier, I farm 4-6 hours a day, that’s my entire play time.
Striders, golems, and druids. Oh my. That’s what rides the farming yellow brick road.
I DID get the equipment…on the dozen characters who are 100+.
And I DIDNT get the equipment on the 50 or so characters UNDER 100.
just as the information we were given weeks ago stated VERY clearly.
So I am paying for WWing on characters that had it 48 hours ago just because I did the grind for the strider…twice.
This post makes zero logic…
you’d get dismounted off the water strider regardless of this.
So just do what you’d do be forced to do even before this change… Get the blacksmith consumable that makes you immune to being Dazed… being dazed off a mount in a new zone on first days of a new patch is nothing new… this has been a thing since forever… so many memories of beign dismounted numerous times on Isle of Thunder, Timeless Isle, Tanaan Jungle, Broken Shore, Argus, etc, it isnt until you start gearing up and building up your stats that the dismounting lessens
yeah…really? Because most days Im burning 8 hours upwards to 12 hours depending on how much website work I have to do sitting here.
And I run most of the major farming routes all over this entire game thru any given week.
And anyone who says that sky golems and water striders are out in droves is simply exaggerating, end of story.
I see druids farming FAR more than I ever see those mounts out doing it.
This entire change is rooted in the fact that they wanted to nerf the Striders and make them usable only in the expansion they were tied to (Azure, Mists… Crimson, Warlords) a while back.
Had they made the mounts each have an equipment slot (like the Champions on our mission tables) they would have had to leave the Strider alone, which they didn’t want to do. So they did the same thing they did with Pathfinder…
They dug in their heals and don’t care how much it’s disliked, they did it anyway.
The sad fact is that it took this change for even me to see the precedent Pathfinder set. I originally defended Pathfinder. But never again will I defend a precedent setting change like this. Pathfinder, frankly, is what lead to this change.
It’s a garbage change made by a group of devs who don’t give one pile of abut what they’re player base actually want, enjoys, finds fun.
I can’t wait to see the oceans of salty tears when the next expansion hits and we not only are stuck on the ground for a year, but we also have no mount equipment, or it’s so expensive no one can buy any.
