I’m saying that each toon has it’s own template for mount equipment. My DH has the water walking on the tmog yak, but when i log onto my paladin the tmog yak has no mount equipment on it.

So whatever equipment you put on your mounts on one toon, does not translate over to another toon.

Essentially if you use 1 mount (the same mount) on each toon, and lets say you have 10 toons, you have to buy 10 of the same mount equipment and put it on the same mount on each toon.

While I’m only mildly annoyed at the loss for my water strider I am far more alarmed at the precedent this sets. They are spending far too much time taking items out of the game people are used to using. And in the next xpac I fully expect them to make getting any sort of mount equipment more difficult and time consuming.

You’re statement can’t be true as only half of the population even has a Strider to begin with. So at best, if half of Area 52 has a Strider, only half of the people you see can be on one.

To name a few. All but Lothar are “high” or “full” every time I log in. I’ve never seen more than a few people on Striders until yesterday. I saw 5 (including myself would be 6) on login in Daz’aralor.

i got the water mount too, it was really really easy. it always loses effectiveness once flying is unlocked. and it’ll be nice to see mounts other than the water strider, because contrary to your unpopular belief, water striders are far too prevalent in the expansions… everyone uses them.

and i’m staying here because even though i could care less about the water strider, i have an issue with the mount equipment because it’s not account wide. being individual to every toon even though toons share mounts is kinda dumb… but w/e just a gme.

Its an attention post. People expect NO CHANGES from something they got 7 years ago. Water striders are everywhere not because everyone has one… 1/10th of the population could have water striders and they would still be everywhere because most people that are out there farming used water striders and the harvester for efficiency. those are the two most seen mounts by far.

Agreed. I think everyone going on about what a wonderful move this was haven’t fully thought about what else Blizz has up their sleeve concerning mount equipment. In my opinion, this is only the beginning for Blizz to see how well this system goes over and what else they can take away from us only to give it back in a different form and call it a “grand new idea”!!

This is exactly why it bothers me so much.

I have absolutely zero (for those who don’t understand “zero”, it’s 0, none, not even one) issue with equipment being implemented.

I have issue with the fact that they are basically saying that nothing has any value in having earned it anymore. Anything can be removed anytime some random guy at the “round table” has a light turn on his his little head.

This sets a terrible precedent that most of these “what a great change!” folks won’t see until it, literally, drops on their heads like a 100lb anvil from Acme Co.

As Ahlessa has just reminded me, this precedent was apparently set when they removed Master Loot. I didn’t take too much notice of it because their reasoning was sound and I’m not a raider. I used to be though and never once did I encounter a guild that used personal loot by default. Entire systems were built around Master Loot(dkp etc). Well played Blizz. You got me. Now that’s all gone. Here we are again with something more popular being taken away and given back as a feature. I wonder what they’re going to take away from the next group and give to the rest of us as a “feature”.

I totally agree.

They seem to forget that not nearly as many players have the bug(s) as they try to claim do, and that we could always use any mount we wanted to cross water…those pesky Elixir’s of Water Walking being a thing and all.

A lot of complaints seem to stem from what someone else has…

i mean… technically 90% of those characters didnt farm the mount… you did it on one toon and benefitd on all other 59… and it’s not even a time investment. Took me like… 15 minutes to get the strider?

if you have 90% of your characters under 100… that means you dont play them and would really have no big need for the mount.

and the speculation comes from the fact that maybe munt equipment requires you to be over 100? so if you take a toon and level it to 100 maybe you’ll get the WW gear in the mail. . who knows?

You forget to incorporate sharding and how most farmers use striders and/or sky golems for convenience. We are talking across all zones not just quest zones. So no you are wrong and biased. I really don’t care what servers you play on when you aren’t out in the wild like I am. Keep to your mythics and raids, I’ll keep to my farming and ah flipping. I see what I see, I have no reason to lie about it. I don’t raid, I don’t do mythics literally all my time on wow is gold farming and talking to friends via battle.net or guild chat. So as I said before, when you’re out as much as me you notice things. The top three things you see on farm routes were striders, golems, and druids.

My complaint:
I got an in-game mail from Nat Pagle telling my the waterstrider somehow evolved to become useless? Sorta like Garados evolving into a MagiCarp? He thanked my for my service and gave me a free trophy in the amount of “Anglers Waterstrider”. My question is; When will it stop blizzard? When will you stop short changing others achievements? I spent weeks! farming that rep during Pandaria xpac, spent 1000g to purchase it once i hit exalted. (with inflation im sure thats 10x the value now). When will you bring back the game I fell in love with where my time was rewarded and there was a “light/item” at the end of the tunnel that I KNEW i was going to get for my dedication? In the meantime i guess i’ll get back in the welfare loot line until Classic drops.

Wtf? When you equip the FREE item from your mail, your strider is exactly the same. And now every other ground mount can waterwalk now for basically free. You lost NOTHING. Spoiled child
