No one asked for your opinion either. Everyone is allowed their opinion. And as I said you see more striders than any other mount in the wild. Blizzard has the stats for it. There is evidence, but you lot are just like “meh they took my mount I worked for”. They didn’t, you have the mount. They even have you a free equipment so you can keep your strider. Want more equips? You just craft then or buy them in the ah for cheap.
Do what I did…delete them all.
I deleted about half of my nearly 60 characters yesterday who are too low for flight and were using the strider to get over water…or to stride down the water ways to avoid mobs of trash out in the world.
Im not playing Blzzards childish games anymore.
They remove MY work, then I end up playing less.
My ESO account is looking better and better by the day.

Actually if I couldn’t use the equipment on the strider I wouldn’t have been the least bit surprised since it already had a special ability in the first place. Mount equipment should be for the mounts that don’t do anything special by default. I went through my list of mounts and made sure I chose one I wouldn’t mind always using to walk on the water. Jokes on me it works for them all. Okay why is that not clear from the beginning? This is just another stupid feature of this expansion that no one cared about or even thought about because it’s entirely unnecessary. Leave my stuff I worked for alone. Everyone is so ambivalent right now. Just wait until your repair mount gets replaced with a hammer you can put in your sea turtle or whatever else.

i got it on every alt i own.
only crappy thing is that the mount equipment is character specific so if my proto drake has water walking on toon A… toon B’s drake doesnt have that and i have to put the equipment on that drake again.
wish the mount equipment equipped on the mounts was account bound since you share mounts…

MOST of my characters are sub 100.
the ONLY ones who got the WWing gear mailed to them were 100 and above.
NONE of the sub 100’s got it.

That xmog mount you spent 150k on it however much? Well I can just grind a new rep for a week and get it for free on my headless horseman. You’ll care then.

I farm 4-6 hours a day, literally all I do is make gold to get my ah mount, when you’re out grinding as much as me you see things. So you telling me what I see is wrong when you aren’t me, yeah i’m going to defend myself. Blizzard wouldn’t have done it if there wasn’t a mount diversity problem.
So I’m not sure if this has been said yet, but the rep grind to get the water strider is NOT negated by this change. If you don’t have the water strider, you don’t get the item. In order to get the item after the fact, you need to buy it from Nat Pagle…which requires you to own a water strider, which requires the rep grind.
Blizzard thinks some animals just “forget” how to work.

Well… maybe once you get them above 100 they will get them? i dunno.
I got the WW equipment on all 7 of my alts so i could care less. people making a big deal over nothing.

While I’m only mildly annoyed at the loss for my water strider I am far more alarmed at the precedent this sets. They are spending far too much time taking items out of the game people are used to using. And in the next xpac I fully expect them to make getting any sort of mount equipment more difficult and time consuming.
Before they eventually remove them all together.
It would have been just as easy for them to have introduced mount equipment but have the water strider have that one built in already.
What will they remove next? Multiple hearthstones? Increased cool down on the flight masters whistle? Pathfinder 3?
It’s becoming more and more clear their “vision” of the game is getting narrower and narrower.

its something to those of us who did the work for the strider and were using it in the way it was ADVERTISED and got screwed by this asinine move by blizzard.
I’ll say again that attitudes such as yours make me giggly knowing they took master loot from players who used it every week.

Agreed. I think everyone going on about what a wonderful move this was haven’t fully thought about what else Blizz has up their sleeve concerning mount equipment. In my opinion, this is only the beginning for Blizz to see how well this system goes over and what else they can take away from us only to give it back in a different form and call it a “grand new idea”!!
Personally, I’ll be here waiting for the other shoe to drop.
