Nothing changed for me except a slot on the mount page. No Angler’s Exalted = no free equipment. Not even going to bother checking the AH for obscenely priced crafted stuff.

Weird, I’m so glad I don’t have to see that awful mosquito every time I want to ride on water. Now I can see all my mounts, it’s awesome!

How much is the equipment without Anglers Exalted?
That’s what I didn’t understand. When I got it in the mail I thought, “Oh ok. I’ll, I better be mindful which mount I put this on so it’ll be my new water walking mount.”
Come to find that it was mount wide, not individual customized mounts.
So like… Everytime I want a different saddle I’ll have to go buy a new water walking saddle and reequip it, losing the old one? That just seems unnecessary.
Let the saddles be equipped onto one individual mount so we can further customize that specific mount. That just makes more sense.

If course you do, you’re a paladin, you already have everything else mount equipment offers, making water walking best in slot for your class.
Enjoy it while it lasts. Because once no one else cares about water walking equipment but you light loving helmet heads, blizzard will just change it so that it won’t work in 9.0 and there won’t be a replacement.

Exactly. But I guess blizzard really really doesn’t want anyone swapping them out frequently, considering the rep equipment is limited to ONE in your inventory… So despite being cheap, it’s really inconvenient to get another if you need one.

Why do they have to gut old systems to implement new ones? In a game that does promote achievement hunting, they should have been able to foresee the frustration this would cause.

Not to mention they sold flying mounts, which became grounded, and even had the nerve to try and kill flying altogether.

This is when I realized something was definitely up. “Here’s a cool new fae dragon in our shop that you can buy!” Get it and it’s grounded. A dragon that cannot fly despite having wings.

I nearly quit when Hati was stolen from me and now my water strider is useless. STOP telling me that I lost nothing! I could use it on all my toons and now I have to buy water walking for every toon. I have to buy what I already earned.
Grinding rep kept me from playing for fun. I’ve often said it was the most useful mount I own and worth the grind. I could use it for my new guys, the same as they can ride my other mounts when they’re high enough.
It was useful - and I EARNED IT!
I don’t care what you give to other players. Let them have one free water walking mount. That’s cool. Just Don’t. Steal. From. Me!!!

Tbh the change is positive. With mount equipment added the mount would have been broken. Yes you earned your mount just the same as every other exalted rep mount, but when there are a boatload of mounts in game and everywhere you go people are literally just riding striders…I’m sorry but I have to agree that there’s a problem. So now any of your mounts can waterwalk. To those who said they have 10 characters and only received one equipment, you can make more for your other characters…stop feeling entitled and just play the game…

Your strider can still walk on water, it just needs shoes to help. Nope, not seeing a difference.
I logged into two characters last night and both got the item in the mail, so I don’t know about that.
Still really frustrating but they’ve hated that thing since day one. And also screw the people who only did the garrison version, I don’t believe they got the equipment for only having that one.

I had all three of those with consumables before. You know, Goblin Gliders, Bardings and a bug that could walk on water. The choice was there already and I didn’t have to have Blizzard holding my hand to make the choice for me.
And I had them ALL AT ONCE.

Ive been warning about this for quite some time.

They are bent on removing, nerfing, overtweaking…whatever they feel the have to do so that YOUR game takes longer to play so the INVESTORS make more $$$.
Every single time they pull this sort of crap its for our benefit…but it aint.
I THOUGHT the changes to professions a while back was too. Cool, I dont have to level up crap I dont want to get to stuff I do. Daddy blizzard luvs me…

They did it for one sole reason.
Now I can level up BFA professions and never step foot into classic or MoP again to level them up like before.
They did it to ERASE the need for old content. It had NOTHING to do with MY game experience.
The strider is an obvious one. There was absolutely ZERO need for this equipment change crap. Tanks can ride right thru mobs. Why on earth do we need for ALL specs and classes to be able to?
People were screaming about homogeneity over the stinking strider…and I’ll bet that a long list of those players are right on board with the homogeneity of EVERY PLAYER having WWing and every other ability this gear provides.
The game you loved is dead.
Created by better developers who loved the game itself and then destroyed by those who clearly hate the game but have to keep it on life support because of all the $$$ it provides.
