I farm… literally every time i see someone they are on a water strider or sky golem…

“Waaahh… Other people’s choice of mount triggers my bug & bot phobia! Fix it blizzard, fix it!”

A better one in regards to the Strider would be the ref taking away the gloves you bought only to give everyone the same gloves in the end.

Sure you bought those gloves, but you can easily play the game with or without them. By definition this isn’t game breaking.

I got the item on every 100+ Level character, but the few I have that are under level 100 didn’t get it.

Wtf? When you equip the FREE item from your mail, your strider is exactly the same. And now every other ground mount can waterwalk now for basically free. You lost NOTHING. Spoiled child

I wonder how many “spoiled children” will be upset when next expansion they require you to have a piece of equipment to make all of your flying mounts fly. And you’ll need a different piece of equipment to make your transmog mount able to transmog your gear. And a different piece for your two and three-seater mounts to accommodate two and three people. And a different piece for the auctioneer mount to have an auctioneer on it. And a different piece for vendor mount to have vendors on it. You get ONE free. Then you have to buy them if you want to switch between, let’s say, anti-daze and water walking when needed. They are single use. Yes, the price to buy the water walking equipment is reduced. But on Monday, I didn’t have to spend a single gold to walk on water.

I don’t know where this logic is coming from. They would not have had to leave the strider alone, they very well could have removed water walking from it and given it a mount equipment slot.

That they didn’t want to, you’re probably correct about.

But they most certainly could have.

It comes from the logic that says they could have left it alone with equipment exactly like it is.

They never have to do anything. They do everything because they want to. They can do anything they want to do.

My point was that because they already wanted to change the Strider, making the equipment “per mount” rather than “per character” would have invalidated what they wanted to do, which force a “choice” of “either this or that”.

It would also have made no sense, based on what they wanted to accomplish, to make the equipment “per mount” because then they couldn’t force a choice on us. They don’t actually want us to choose what mount to use, they want us to choose not to walk on water.

because the wowhead post says you need one 100+ on the server and then it opens up the equipment at 20 for the rest…

Now if you want the players on your team to run faster… They all have to throw away their nice gloves, even the special catcher’s mitt and switch to one-use disable gloves instead.

When did they implement a change so that characters could fly at level 1? I thought flight couldn’t be purchased until level 60?

Also, in 9.0 no one will be flying in any new content for a year (or more), possibly never this time around.

I’m unsure why it is so hard for people to understand that this change, as Pathfinder did before it, sets a precedent.

One day we’ll be walking on our little feet around all the stones and trees and up all the mountains with only one path all the way over on the other side of the world up it because Blizz will decide even ground mounts somehow ruin the integrity of their game and too many people use Mim’s Head or some goofy crap.

Now it is… 1-60 was classic. BC was to 70, Wrath was to 80, cata was to 85 Mop was to 90, warlords to 100, legion 110, bfa 120…

Where’s the link to it working as intended. All i saw on wowhead was you needed a 100+ level toon to open up mount gear on level 20+ alts.

it was 7 years ago, the mount is still there, and the ability is now global across all mounts… nothing was lost. the functionality was just generalized. And i guess the big message here is blizzard clearly doesn’t care about level 60 characters… oh well. move on.

I logged out, and deleted EVERY sub 60 character without flight I had.
Somewhere in the area of 23 characters Ihad been leveling here and there…deleted.

lol I have to spend 50g and 20 minutes of my life giving characters i never play the ability to waterwalk so i’m going to spend the countless days/months i spend leveling them and just DELETE them

Players who never had and used the strider may not be aware of this, thus they are “happy” with the dumbed down version they are now able to acquire.

seems to work the same… get in combat and you lose water walking and have to remount when you lose it. As an owner of the original strider… nothings changed.

i mean it takes like 5 hours to level to 60 to fly… and water walking equipment can be used at level 20… it costs 50 if they didnt mail it to you…

This is not what people are upset about. They are up set because Blizzard pushes rep grinding down our throat ever expac. We go do the rep grind and then they take away the reward for doing it. Besides Flying, there is no reason to ever farm a rep again. What would be the point, if the rewards for doing so will just be removed. If i didn’t want flying I would never farm another rep. there is no point.

i can get behind this a bit, but at he same time it was a rep grind in Mop… and it’s 7 years later… and if they did the rep grind now… like recently… it takes 5 minutes and is really super easy.

your telling someone to report a bug when there was no bug to report because you don’t understand how the “freebie” works and what characters actually get it.

Opinions vary from one whiner to the next. If I don’t know how it works then how I am able to have WW on at least 4 of my most played characters a few them under 100? Yes, that means HUSH and move on mister.
