Azure Waterstrider and my anger

of course they’re enjoying it.

they get to have something with zero effort, while laughing at everyone else who was stupid enough to waste their time earning something.

And the biggest frustration isnt even in game.
its coming in here having to listen to the knights parroting off whatever tripe blizzard spewed up for us all knowing that its crap logic and wasnt for our benefit in any way any more than removing Master Loot or portals was for the community’s benefit.

yet the knights will keep chanting the mantra and screaming that we all just ignore the back stabbing ways of blizzard towards their player base… put on that demented Mansioneque grin and pretend that we’re perfectly fine with having our work and time stolen from us.

Not true. I got one on each character.

Blizzard actively encourages strife and infighting within the community with decisions like this because it’s beneficial to them. The more time we spend squabbling amongst ourselves the less the anger is directed towards them. That means they can sit on their hands for 5ish years and by the time we reach a relative consensus on the topic another controversial change is implemented to stir the pot once more.

Round and around we go. Nothing is changed for the better and we’re all worse off. The only people that benefit are Blizzard.

Exactly.
I was on it yesterday the second the servers came back up around 1pm here.
NONE of my sub 100’s got the mail…as per the DATA we had already.
I went to buy the equip from Pagle…found I can only carry ONE at a time and it costs 50g, not 40 as someone stated it might.

I mailed it to a one sub 100…ran down, bought another…ran up to the mailbox…mailed the second…ran down and was about to purchase a third when disgust over took me.

I logged out, and deleted EVERY sub 60 character without flight I had.
Somewhere in the area of 23 characters Ihad been leveling here and there…deleted.

Screw this crap. I aint turning buying a flipping piece of equipment into a another grind to amuse blizzard devs.
So nearly half of my characters are gone now.
All because of this asinine change that I AINT playing along with.

Make that a NERFED consumable piece of garbage.

The new water walking is very fragile. Nothing like the water walking ability that water striders had. The original water strider water walking ability is GONE and replaced by a battered and less functional version.

Players who never had and used the strider may not be aware of this, thus they are “happy” with the dumbed down version they are now able to acquire.

I don’t know where this logic is coming from. They would not have had to leave the strider alone, they very well could have removed water walking from it and given it a mount equipment slot.

That they didn’t want to, you’re probably correct about.

But they most certainly could have.

After implementing the system I wish Nat Pagle’s note had read that the Water Strider population had a wasting sickness and to curate the population they need to collect my strider.

Yesterday, in Nazjatar, I was on my ground mount and I crossed a shallow body of water. Water that did not go further than covering my mount’s paws.

No splashing. My mount “glassed” over the surface. I have lost the ability for my other mounts to move through the world in a way that keeps world cohesion.

For those who look forward to the immersion. For those who swap mounts according to terrain and internal world logic - this system breaks the world 100%.

I actually like it so far from what i have tested - I got that item in mail and equipped it to my favorite Vicious Lion and after was riding across water, Will that work on all my Alli Alts now? didn’t test, If it does…I don’t see all the hate

I mean actually the change is kinda useless, but w/e

Instead of changing the mount to get the desired effect for free. Now I must change the equipment for the desired effect for a cost.

I will never like this.

I wanted to give this response a “like” but Blizzard doesn’t want people to be able to express too much dissatisfaction, so they now “shadow censor” our ability to like too many people that we agree with.

Why am I not surprised considering the overall direction of everything in this game now.

I haven’t checked the store lately to see if they are selling “likes” yet. :zipper_mouth_face:

Your experience is not shared by many of us.

And who cares if what you say is true? It showed a desire, a need for that functionally. Blizzard should capitalize on it, make new water walking mounts that are a challenge to get, and sell vanity versions of them in the shop.

There only value to mount equipment is that it lets the rest of us travel as fast as mag’har, dk & paladins. The rest of the equipment types only has any real value to them, not the rest of us.

There is a crafted version of the water walking equipment that people will be able to buy off the auction house without any rep grind.

I don’t have a problem with others getting it this way… I object to being forced to give up my striders buff to get the speed upgrade.

Would rather keep water striders exempt but still useable.

Every new alt is 50 gold and a trip to MOP!

They must all be level 100+ then. Lucky you had the blue strider, if you only had the red strider none of your alts would have gotten anything.

Highly doubtful.

Go do your farming. Your vastly superior method is probably missing you by now.

Would you enjoy playing a game if the ref arbitrarily deducted score points from your team because they just felt like you had too many? “Sorry, there was nothing really wrong with your score in the first quarter of the game, but those points don’t count for you now… Carry on”

It’s bs and you know it.

I don’t understand why they couldn’t have left the waterstrider out of the mount equipment eligible mounts like they did with the other thing that collects herbs. Simple solutions are usually the best ones, but somehow Blizzard never picks those.

Fun detected, fun removed. Situation normal.

Not only do they not see the irony in their change, but they make is worse by sending out a mail saying that the Striders “evolved” and can no longer walk on water “with a passenger” (hence no change to their name).

I mean, I was under the impression that “evolving” meant becoming better over a period of time. The dictionary seems to agree with my thought process…
