I mean, I use the que times to farm mats for consumables. The. I use said consumables in AV. Further increasing the chance of winning.
When was the last time you saw an alliance use an invisibility potion to sneak past the horde as a non stealth class. Or a frost protection potion and then a FAP to demolish the frost mages in their way?
Consumables can make or break a game for victory, heck even using low level grenades just for the CC on healers can turn the tide of a battle.
You act like having long que times, giving horde time to farm for consumables does nothing to effect the win rate. It does.
Edit: it also increases motivation to WIN, there is no “welp I’ll win the next one” because that would mean 3+ more hours in a que. So when we go in, we go to win.
Ive played horde for 15 years and never realused. I thought we were just amazing, ignoring that the win rate was 50/50 on even maps.
Ive seen amazing ally teams with everyone doing their best and driving horde back across the field of strife lose because of the map. We drive into ibgy and snare it and ally just spawn 30 seconds away and kill us simply by re rezzing and killing us one by one til were dead.
Ive seen great ally team get spolued in summoning treezus til it bugs while horde summons in secret behind a hill.
Its almost funny.
I know you think you are fabulous but its the map. Ally doesnt care anymore.
Save yourself the time. Some horde will never accept any reason that doesn’t result in “horde good alliance bad”.
AV map is set up so that it’s almost impossible for horde to lose, but those consumables - that’s the key to overcoming those disadvantages and proving PvP prowess.
The better question is, WHY do you want to play AV? It’s the worst BG of them all. If queue times grow to 10 hours that means rankers would never have to do it. That would be great. Just play the more competitive WSG and AB. AV is garbage. Unless they put vanilla version of AV, AV will keep geing trash forever.
The idiocy of your post simply doesn’t deserve a response, but since we all have moments of weakness, i’ll bite.
First of all, highly classy of you to call me a moron 5 or 6 times.
Nobody told me the horde is “massively overpopulated”, instead i chose undead because it was the race i played 15 years ago.
I did not cause any of these problems, instead, if you actually read the post, I want whatever is plaguing alliance players in AV, causing them not even to queue, to be FIXED, so EVERYONE can ENJOY the game in this respect.
I dont CARE about your odd video-game-racism or your prejudiced sentiments towards four non-existent races of peoples. It’s a f***ing video game, and i want to play it. End. Stop. Finish.
Finally, if you are arguing that we have twice as long queues because we have twice as many players, then show me where the alliance have two hours queues. Because 2 (two) is half of 4 (four). Make sure you do that one on paper. I’m pretty sure the allies have queues under 10 minutes if they decide to play AV.
YOU are the reason the forums are a terrible place, and your lack of logical and reasoning skills is highly evident. I can’t believe i even took the time to reply to this, but like i said, we all do stupid things sometimes.
Quit being such a f***ing slug on the internet. I hope one day someone beats in your jaw because you accidentally said something in real life that was meant for a forum.
2-5 mins is the average queue for Alliance on my server for AV
Won’t be seeing this Alliance player in AV anymore, I got exalted on my main and alt and won’t be back.
Knowing non participation in AV pisses off horde is great, and it’s only going to get worse for you as less people need rep there.
Oh, and it’s not just “video game tribalism”… I never cared about horde/alliance nonsense in the past.
But now I legitimately hate your entire faction after the way they behaved in phase 2, you are scum, you had your 15 minutes of wpvp domination, but now its time to own your karma and enjoy your 3 hour battleground queues for the rest of the games lifetime.
I disagree with the assumption the player bases are the same. Even back in vanilla/BC/WotLK the player bases were different enough for me to notice, at least on the PvP scene, can’t really comment on PvE. It’s like saying piano players are the same as guitar players. Sure, there is some huge overlap, but you are going to find more of a rough edge on the guitar player base overall for various cultural reasons. Horde are the intimidating faction, the “badass” faction, and the faction perceived to have the better PvP racials and therefore the more serious PvP faction. I say this having got gladiator as an orc and having grouped with so many raging competitive PvP horde, even if they were rank 3 or challenger. The horde player base, on average, cares more and puts more stock into beating and humiliating the competition. If you have spent 250+ days over the course of WoW’s history playing the game and over half of that in PvP on both sides, you will come to know these general differences between the factions. Yeah, there’s a good 90-95% overlap, but the extreme ends are very different. Those extreme ends are enough to get the 5-10 rank 10+ horde coming back to wipe any alliance trying to do anything in AV, or camping the cave. They ruined AV.
So lets just say in a magical world, that blizzard decides to make a small change/concession to make AV more “fair” for the allies. I put fair in quotes because honestly i don’t know with certainty myself what the problem is, i just see the queue time on my end.
What is that change? What wipes out the 5-10% extremist horde PVPers from ruining AV for alliance?
I am genuinely curious to know how it could be fixed. And i think it’s obvious that i want it to be fixed because i could not care less about the weird, borderline racist ally vs horde experience we have here.
Any fix to it probably requires a re-balance of the map that has already occurred in future patches. I’m not really a fan of that approach and I don’t think it will happen. Even though AV favors horde overall, that would still be OK if not for the player base. Toxic player bases can change any game. Classic is very, very different right now than it used to be. For example, AQ40 isn’t even out yet and I played against a team that had three ashkandis and two hand of rags. Teams that spam invulnerability potions just to make sure our side doesn’t get a single honorable kill. Despite the fact I grinded out to rank 11 in the past and played on multiple servers, I never experienced that before, and now it is a common everyday experience.
The player base is more experienced, well researched, and as they say “try hard” than ever before. As people become more invested in the game, they see their victories and their opponent’s despair/humiliation as comedic, fun and desirable. I’ve been /spit on more times in classic than I ever was in vanilla despite 10-20x the playtime in vanilla, just for say, grinding mats in Blasted Lands. What does that say? The gaming community has changed, and you can’t code out toxicity. Supposing the map were 100% balanced perfectly, it’s likely horde would still have the more serious PvP faction with more high ranked AV queuers due to alliance’s instant WSG/AB. Even on a perfectly balanced map, the side with the greater skill or effort can still grief the other side into really bad experiences. The solution is a change to the player culture, Blizzard can’t enforce that, only the community can try to influence it.
I’ll tell you what can be fixed. Backtrack the idiotic Horde service change and let the Alliance premade again. #NoChanges to the rescue. It’s that easy.
