It is in fact asymmetrical which means different spots in the map favor different sides. But it is hard to judge the map a whole if 1 side is not trying.

Well let’s talk about the mechanic of cave spawn vs grave yard spawn.

I wasn’t aware of this but apparently the GY only spawns 10 players/30 seconds but the cave spawns more.

Alliance do not spawn in the cave unless both SH and SP are capped. For the horde it’s different, yes? You spawn in the cave under less conditions. Enjoying the bonus res of more people at a time. Is that true or false?

Yup, we’ve had this talk earlier in the thread. I want people to spawn at FWGY instead of the cave.

But the same advantage is given to the Alliance cave when defending stormpike

What I am seeing, is a correlation between queue times dictates which side wins most often. The side with the short queue times loses more often and has more AFK / Bot’s that lead to them losing. The side with the longer queue times wins more often because they come to play because they know when the match is done they go back into a 30, 60 or 90 minutes queue to enter.

The advantage of the cave is really the end of the discussion. There is more but that position and it’s mechanic is enough to mess up an alliance offensive.

The alliance cave is in the middle of nowhere and the ride to SHGY is a long one.

So i guess you are in the camp of people agreeing that people give up and are not there to try, but blame the map instead of the people giving up and not trying.

Ok, here are some issues that need to be fixed in order to really have some decent games.

  1. Move the cave

  2. blizzard revert the HK decay (it really makes people just fight instead of pushing or going for objectives)

  3. Move the cave or make spawning at GY’s if one is available.

  4. There is some fundamentally problem when horde can push and kill Drek with 5-10 people. Sure, alliance can also play defense… but they would rather push and lose the game while pushing instead of prolonging games. Why do horde have to defend with 30+ people? Its not cuz of premades anymore…

  5. Fix the wall jump. It is way easier to use at DB then horde base and for god sake give our archers the same respawn timer as horde archers.

I have two major issues… i can’t for the life of me figure out why horde defend with 30+ people and the cave making assaulting IBGY far tougher then it should be. SHGY is a joke compare to IBGY.

The map wasn’t made to be balanced / mirrored. It was made to reflect actual terrain to be fought over. When the map originally released it had a lot more NPCs that really made the map what it was and take hours up on hours to beat. When they removed all of that to accommodate people crying that it took forever to defeat it came closer to what we have today. I don’t mind if they move the cave further back as I have beaten the map on both sides as a Horde. It’s strictly a player issue, because the side with the longer queue times is the side that tends to win because it ferry out the AFK’s and Bots.

Why the hell would any sane player wanna skate uphill against a player who gets to skate downhill?

You switch to alliance and YOU try. That cave mechanic and position ain’t going nowhere.

Why the hell should anyone care about some random AV match anyways? I just told you, I won. It took over an hour and was exhausting and the reward for that effort makes it not worth while.

So you gotta fix that as well.

I will agree this is a small part of the issue. But make some changes and I will almost guarantee the win rate will not stay at 99.9%.

I have played on the map as Alliance, I showed you. We won as Alliance.

But when you say this:

Almost all the wins I have been a part of for the last 2 weeks have been games over an hour long. They have been hella fun, I dont want 10 mins, 30 mins games.

Yes, because i guarantee it people will call me a liar unless i provided a screenshot of my Alliance toon. I am sorry i don’t have exactly a 15 year old screenshot of me in AV I can grab offhand. That screenshot is what i had available without digging out my old harddrive.

How is that proof of you winning AV all the time on alliance when it’s just a picture of you in BWL? I got a picture of me winning AV in classic that doesn’t mean we’re winning equal amounts now does it?
