I’m just saying. we had raid-geared tanks, with MC shields tanking Drek and everything. It was really cool. But Horde didn’t like that, they weren’t winning enough.
No he wont, he’ll simply continue to not q like the rest of us. Face it, horde is going to have to make a sacrifice somewhere if you want bgs to continue.
Blizzard made the changes to AV for a reason and they aren’t about to revert the coding they changed intentionally so I’m not sure what the RIP is about but ok.
And alliance cannot do the same thing at IB, because…?
They are just not your desired changes.
Alliance win rate during vanilla shows that none of these things are the reason for your win rate now. And please do not suggest that horde were not defending during that period of vanilla.
LoL, wut? The jam packed alliance NPCs in their base “do not fully engage”? What exterior NPCs engage when the alliance stealthers are inside a fully enclosed flag room of a horde tower?
You cannot stealth at IB half the time unless sub if horde are riding by and there is LT’s that patrol there. There’s a huge difference in position on the map, the bridge isn’t half as good as the IBGY choke point, especially with the 20 per rez issue from the cave. We cannot 20 per rez at Aid station.
Exactly, desired changes that would actually fix major issues with the map. It’s funny blizzard made 4-5 non-vanilla changes but waited this long to fix the Galv issue. If you’re going to make changes at least make some that actually change something.
Vanilla stats are meaningless, how many guilds were clearing BWL/MC like they are now? We have had a ZG, all priests clear which didn’t happen in Vanilla. Times change and so do people.
The NPC issue isn’t one sided, for a BG where NPCs play a part, it’s ironic that they do so little to help.
If you were right about racials being “the root of the issue”, then all the BGs would be screwed, not just AV. The racials are not different for each BG. In fact, they are more relevant in smaller fights, and less relevant in larger fights. This means they are at their best in 1vs1, and most useless in 40vs40 (AV). Like many people, you’re looking in the wrong place.
If you’ve played enough AV, it should be obvious where the problem is. The alliance can never get past IB. Each time they try to go south they are overwhelmed by a flood of horde counter attacks. 1 look at the map should reveal “the root of the issue”. When IB is gone, the horde revive at the cave. The cave has 20 revive slots, double that of any graveyard. You’re trying to fight an enemy that has a 2 to 1 revive advantage. It’s also closer to the front line than the alliance cave, which isn’t used until AFTER SP is gone. By then, it’s too little too late to defend the map.
Redesigning the map isn’t necessary to plug this hole. All they would have to do is remove or nerf the cave respawn. If horde were sent to FW like they should be, suddenly it would be an even playing field at IB. But they’ve ignored the problem all year and did a bunch of other irrelevant changes instead.
I didn’t say racials were the issue. I said PvP faction population balance was the issue. Meaning the fact that all the PvPers rolled horde, and any that didn’t switched to horde when Blizzard made it very clear that they would be favoring horde with their changes.
You literally have 2 towers covering an entirely exposed bridge that has to be crossed before a bunker can even be soft capped, and a L60 elite at the end, and a roving elite that rides right up to the north bunker, in addition to the alliance in a constant stream traveling past them to the druids hidden behind and then across the bridge to return south. Still think that IB is harder to get past?
We say Population balance is the issue you say “no its because the alliance dont try”. We tell you why we stopped trying and you say “no its because you have a bad attitude”.
THEN you want us to somehow have sympathy for your long q times? Entitled.
Really? Says the person who’s part of a squad of alts who post on any thread with AV in it within minutes spitting the same false nonsense over and over? That’s rich coming from you.
The tower archers are rarely up because stealthers kill them. Also We. Cannot. Rez. 20. At. The. Aid Station. This is why IB >Bridge. You get teleported to ally cave if you die on the bridge. You’d know this had you played alliance and paid attention to the complaints.
You can also gather inside the main bunker without pulling Van. The fact you do not understand how good IBGY choke is shows me either you don’t actually play AV or you’re just a biased horde alt. But how can you when you’re on the forums 24/7? If you spent as much time on the game as AV threads you’d be rank 14 by now.
Yea I think you and I are on the same page. This is what I’m saying… in that changes to AV would probably get me to queue again and give it a try, but…
… this.
Because morale is low, and my own patience is stretched so exceptionally thin, it wouldn’t take a lot for me to get frustrated and stop playing. Logically I know this is just a reaction, but it’s also how I feel and saps the fun.
It’s too bad too, because I’m the “positive” guy. I spent my entire rep grind trying to view every game with a fresh face, jumping on board whatever strategy people suggested, or trying to motivate people with my own.
It just got so defeating on towards the end knowing that whatever we tried, we were going to lose. Any effort we made to try to get past the wall of Horde was easily shut down, leaving the only strat left to hole up at SHGY and hope you got a “stupid” team that let you run around to FWK after they took Snowfall. Most teams weren’t stupid and so every game just kind of blended into the next.
It’s at that point that I just kinda gave up. I certainly don’t mean I just AFK’d my way to exalted, I despise that type of player, but I do mean that I just kinda stopped trying to communicate, followed the mass until the inevitable happened, and then stealthed up to try to snag a few LTs to be a good human before the game ended.
I admit, AV kinda broke me… I think it happened somewhere around the 75% revered mark, but it happened.
Just listen to them- they refuse. There’s a reason even now with their queues this long they go into AV with the mindset of driving even more Alliance to stop queuing by forcing turtles, sending groups back to prevent the killing of LTs for that small bit of honour it can get Alliance, and the staunch opposition to balancing the map itself.
It’s been half a year, and Blizz is finally putting out a few more AV changes- none of them aimed at encouraging Alliance participation- people here need to just accept that Blizz doesn’t care about this. They made the changes they wanted to, it resulted in what we have now, and now that they’re revisiting the BG and still have zero interest in trying to fix imbalance we know beyond any doubt that the reason they haven’t done anything isn’t because they’re slothlike in reacting to things, it’s because they don’t consider a 1% winrate BG with queues lasting hours to be an issue.
Yeah, I understand it. AV is my single “most favorite” thing about wow. It’s the reason I came back to Wow classic after quitting 12 years ago.
Even that first week of AV when horde was losing most of the matches, that was one of the best time I’ve had playing this game.
It’s just disappointing to me that it’s become such a mess, and I do think it has to change so that we can get more alliance queuing.
I’d rather have a situation where horde is losing 40% of the games but with shorter queues than the current mess where I think queues will reach 4 hours while winning 99% of the games.
Until alliance can capture IB GY without facing waves of cave defenders, I don’t think any other change matters.
