AV is now going to die within the next few days

This is not imaginary. I’ve been a part of this exact scenario multiple times, in fact. It is far more frequent recently since with the druid fix, alliance always want to rush IBGY or SFGY now instead of sitting back and farming HKs at SHGY.

You are clearly a strategic genius. Now that I think about it, is clearly obvious that alliance who can’t be reinforced and are facing a battle of attrition at a severe disadvantage should definitely split up into smaller groups and spread out across several objectives that gain them nothing unless they can be held for a substantial period of time.

As you all keep saying AV weekends we are right up there in wins! Lol

Still waiting on some kinda screen shot that shows Alliance have even a 10% chance on AV weekend.

It’s 6 vs 20…

I KNOW!!! LETS SPLIT UP AND TAKE 2 POINTS!!.

The alliance have assaulted FWGY.- 3 Alliance.

The Alliance have assaulted Rhgy- 3 alliance.

WE DID IT!!!

The horde send 10 to FWGY and RH.

10vs3 for both graveyards while horde just rez at cave.

The horde have defended FWGY.
The horde have defended RH.

Those 6 Alliance were never seen south again.

SOLID PLAN!!

These people are smart!

How is stopping at SH or stopping at IB working out for you?

It isn’t. There isn’t anything that’s working out for us. Hence the problems with the map. You must dramatically overgear and outplay to even break even, which is the thing you keep missing, repeatedly, over and over, as you troll these threads.

Nothing is really working, I blame the map.

This made me laugh. Thank you Misadventure, and well posted!

I’m pretty sure I detailed exactly how that works out…which you called an imaginary situation or something like that.

Let’s reverse all of what you just stated and see if the same is true:
If Alliance 1) takes IBGY and then 2) blocks off IB choke, then 3) wipes up all Horde north of IB choke before horde can hard cap anything, they will win, period.

Hmmm, sounds like the same can be said on both sides. So your argument doesn’t really make sense does it? If the exact same thing occurs for the other side and the ones that do the blocking wins, then where’s the issue?

My point is simple. You can “if” all you want it just doesn’t apply to making a good argument or case about something. “if” is exactly that something that could have been or could be. It doesn’t fit into making a good point.

The facts are that Alliance don’t discuss on these forums the strategy to win the Alterac Valley battle. The Alliance don’t even want to look at or mention anything about the guides out there that discuss how to win Alterac Valley. A simple Internet search for: WoW Classic how to win Alterac Valley
and discuss what is written and how it works or doesn’t work is your best bet if you want to make a valid point that something is wrong with the battleground. Simply stating the map makes one side win doesn’t work. Simply stating one part of the battle in regards to location doesn’t work for a good point in hearing your argument. You need to show how the objectives are the goal and how your side loses when you go to the objectives. All the while showing where players are on the battlefield using various strategies, what level the players were, gear they had, all that in order to show there is something wrong with the battleground. If you simply state the Horde starting position was pushed back in patch 2.4.3 of The Burning Crusade, then that doesn’t hold up because of the reinforcements that were part of the battleground.

Please exit the forums forever.
You’re a multiboxing trashcan who knows absolutely nothing.

You’re actually linking a guide that does not work and anyone with a brain can see it wont work. You’re going off of what happened 15 years ago before horde started to Hard defend. Nothing you can do in this version of AV will help alliance win, NOTHING.

Just leave no one wants to see your worthless drivel.

You’re missing one very important detail. SHGY doesn’t have a cave 22 seconds away where defenders spawn 20 at a time. That makes a massive difference.

And yes, if alliance can indeed cap IB, hold the choke and prevent any horde from going north (assuming no capped GYs north of that) they have a very good chance of winning, not least because if they’ve already gotten that far, they are FAR superior to the horde team in quality. About half of my dozen or so wins have come that way, and those were cases where we were tripling (or more) the horde kill count.

There have been many times where horde just steamrolled us when putting up a full defense at SHGY, and then basically did the same at SPGY. Those teams clearly outclassed ours. But I’ve also been in games where the horde team really, really sucked, but we still couldn’t take IBGY or move south of it. By really sucked, I mean they couldn’t take SHGY from us after well over an hour, when they had finally scraped up enough kill loots to summon Lok, and even with Lok on top of the SHGY flag and their entire team assaulting, they couldn’t capture it. That was the point where I said in /bg something along the lines of “**** it, we’ve milked all the honor and rep out of this we can, let’s just all go straight to FWGY.” And we did. And won. Because when they sent a wave of 20 at us, they all died and we would maybe lose 2 or 3, which was a low enough loss rate that we could replace at least some of them. Once we hard capped FWGY, it was complete ownage.

But we never were able to take IBGY, I’ll give them that!

IWB choke is probably one of the most game clinching chokes in the game because of how good it is. its up hill and narrow, plus there is no way around it unlike IBGy, but I mean we dont pay $600 a month just to win pvp fights.

The situation is completely different than you attempt to convey.
Lets say completely even skill, equipment, mount speed.

If the horde lose IGBY the will rez in cave. It is actually a superior position than them rezzing at IGBY, because they rez twice as many and are not in a position to be camped on spawn. They are 22 seconds away from reinforcements which is quicker than a full rez timer.

If alliance defend SH, they cannot lose it, they will rez at SPGY a full 58 seconds away. If they rez at SHGY they are rezzing 10 at a time in a single exit cave that can be fully covered by blizzard. SH can be flanked easily, and the hill doesnt block LOS only the little dwarf hut does.

The main issue you will note here is that the horde losing IGBY gives them an advantage. They rez twice as close and in twice the number when comparing the situation to the reverse. Losing IGBY for the horde is more than fine, they rez so close and in such numbers. Losing SH for the alliance is game over. Assuming all else the same and no other forward GYs. Now consider that the map is so imbalanced that the initial clash point is on the alliance side of the map, unless the alliance kill the horde at a rate of 2 to 1, in a completely even skill/gear matchup, the alliance should always lose.

The outcomes of the matches and the win-rates alone signal that the problem is structural. At the very least the imbalances have a disparate impact on Alliance players and if this was anything other than a game, if one group of participants had to suffer a completely unfair resource gains where one group of races reaped 99 percent of the rewards and the other group of races lose every-time, they would be calling lawyers to sue for discrimination.

The map must be balanced to give each faction an even chance of winning. That means making it as close to 50/50 win ratio as possible, anything else, statistically, is imbalanced.

It’s a horrible term.
It should be relentless back capping.
What the Korean horde do differently is not send 20+ back and full stop offensive progress to retake any objective the ally attempt to turn blue.

That stretch up the hill is entirely avoidable by jumping over the cliff by Jeztor, but alliance either forget or deny that fact.

alliance do use that hill, its just that horde seem to form a line even covering that area. with the 10 that res at a time, your not gonna do much against it anyways. you know they just made the choke even better by eliminating the little crevice between IWB and the western mountain. Once ally lose SHGY, there is little to no chance of a comeback. please stop trolling. its not worth it.
