I read this as ā€œ100% of the time, Auto loot does not workā€ And I was confused.

But yes, I get this issue at times.

I thought maybe it was broken after MoP remix either because they tried to do something to fix the intentionally not looting XP thing or because the auto-loot addons some people used changed a cvar or something that messed it up even after turning the addon off.

I couldnā€™t find a cvar that seemed like it would have been relevant though.

Guess itā€™s just a bug affecting everyone?

I find if iā€™m holding my right click button while looting itā€™ll want me to click on it. but thatā€™s the only time iā€™ve noticed it.

it worked 100% in beta but in retail works less than 50% - averages (for me) 30-40% maybe. sure feels like quite a bit less.

I think its some sort of lag issue. I remember back in BfA we here on Oceanic had this awful longtime lag while trying to pick nodes or loot corpses, etc. I dunno if they ever figured it out, there was a huge long post about it on the Oceanic forum where people were asked to report what server it happened on and when and on what toon, which we did over months. I even had a GM contact me ingame to try and watch my play live to see if they could spot what was happening.

This has some similarities to that but its a lot more intermittent.

60% of the time it works every time.

I donā€™t use auto loot. I shift+loot/shift+gather when I want it to be automatic. Havenā€™t noticed an issue going that route.

My guess is that it has something to do with the possible graphical lag/FPS issue people are also commonly experiencing this expansion as well

Sounds about right. Noticed this too.

When it doesnā€™t autoloot for me, I close the window and click again. The second time it will loot.

Iā€™ve noticed this. I thought I was just pushing buttons weird for some reason.

I donā€™t use that. I find that if I dismiss the window and click the corpse again, it always works the next time.

Someone a couple of weeks ago said that the sort of errors we have been seeing may mean that Blizzard has been downgrading server function to save money.

well yes re-looting the item is a workaround, you also get sent the items you didnt loot in the mail.

but the point is, its called auto loot. and it should automatically loot the items, as intended.

its clearly broken based on the replies here
