Auto ban needs to stop!

So since the release of the 9.2.5 ban agreement Blizzard has completely turned their ban system over to bots. Auto bans are happening left and right for reasons unknown to the players. When delved into the reasons are rarely something that warrants a ban, and usually a misunderstanding.

I agree that the toxic behavior on this game has gotten extreme and that Blizzard did need to take steps to curb that. However this Auto Ban policy needs to stop! When it takes a player a week to hear back from a GM on a ban ticket and by then the ban is over, just giving a consolation of game time for the time banned is not the equivalent of time lost! In the past 2 weeks members of my guild have gotten banned for actions that were NOT bannable offenses. Blizzard needs to have a checks and balances system that any action the bots deem warrants a ban must first go through a GM.

The WoW community as a whole needs to stand up otherwise this will continue and more auto bans will happen to innocent players.

Squelches are automatic.

Suspensions or permanent bans take a Blizzard employee.

Also, never stop on the Autobahn. Thatā€™s a good way to get killed!

For some reason,I think if someone is getting banned,itā€™s not for ā€œno reasonā€.

I agree with you, but Iā€™m pretty sure that is what theyā€™ve been asking for, for god knows how long. I tend to avoid speaking in chat these days and stick to discord. People are quick to hit report for issues that are a 1/10, and can be mediated or ignored. For the more serious issues, that do warrant a report (3/10) well, that is already lumped into the former report. Anything above that, well, thats probably a call to the police tbh.

As far as I know thereā€™s no automated system to ban

Donā€™t want anything to happen than donā€™t say anything explicit and donā€™t say anything too negative.

If you look into the recent events since 9.2.5 the majority of bans have not been accurate. People are being ā€˜apologizedā€™ to once their ticket finally reaches a GM and just given game time to cover the ban. At this point the ban is usually already over, and the damage is done.

No, this is what I want, I want the playerbase to turn against in game chat

And you know this how?

I havenā€™t seen any proof of this. I have seen a few posts but nothing on the epic levels you are talking about, and really I doubted a lot of the posters.

Have a source for this one?

It is actually illegal to stop on the autobahn for stupid reasons. Running out of gas when you knew you were super low, for example.

I disagree. Thereā€™s a few misunderstandings here and there. But compare that to how many people who do deserve a ban are being banned? Iā€™d say that its working as intended.

thatā€™s what authority wants you to believe

the ban system has been automated since at least mop/wod.

Woah, majority of the bans? Do you have the statistics and such on this then? I doubt bliz would release that even if it were the case.

It hasnā€™t, but keep thinking that.

Based on what? If you know something we donā€™t share. If itā€™s based on feeling yeah I guess Iā€™m not that interested

Isnt it agaisnt the forum tos to talk about personal bans or bans against a specific player making proof really hard to do?

Thereā€™s a difference between being banned and being auto banned. How do you know which one it is?

Like I said Iā€™m fairly certain thereā€™s no such thing as an auto banning. Maybe they have one for bot detections?
