Authenticator

My authenticator is reading low battery. How do I go about replacing it before it fails completely. Ticket process is as clear as mud.

Just google “how to remove blizzard authenticator”.

Done that already. Looking for a replacement now. Been a while and don’t remember how i got it originally

You just go into account, remove old one and add new one

The original authenticators have been deprecated in favor of the battle.net app on mobile devices. Chances of you finding a physical one are probably very slim as they were no longer manufactured as of 2019. I don’t recall if adding a physical one is even possible anymore.

I believe that there is no choice but to do it through your phone now. In the Battle.net App if I’m not mistaken.

There are authenticators available to purchase on line, but i highly caution against this, since many purchases, have negative revues. Happily, bliz has made it ez to choose your response via text if you enter data on battlenet

I’m assuming you do NOT want the bNet app on your phone for whatever reason, but if you didn’t consider that, it includes an authenticator (no need for some fob generating codes).

Two potentially relevant discussions with solutions…

They did not design them to have replaceable batteries.

The one I got in 2008 at Blizzcon died last summer, which was far longer than I expected. You can look up some videos about the trials of trying to replace the battery.

If you want to keep a physical one, you’d have to get another. Otherwise you can swap to digital or SMS.
