Except, you can only use the launcher on one PC at a time, and to change accounts on a single PC you have to crash out of the game completely.
This is not a desirable situation, and if it persists the result will be people cancelling additional accounts since it’s untenable to use multiple. AKA Blizzard losing previously stable money.
If you think this is an effective way to combat bots… you have no idea what you’re talking about and are just plucking random nonsense from your navel.

Actually you can go into the settings and check “allow multiple instances of battle.net”
It’s not a fix, but it is a work around that I’ve regrettably been using.

As a quick update, the bug tracking for this is still open. I’m seeing lots of updates from dev and QA on here so hopefully that means the fix isn’t far off! Once we have more news we will post here.
In the meantime, please continue using the Blizzard Battle.net application to open World of Warcraft. This should bypass any authentication errors when manually logging into the game.

its the same client and code it shouldn’t be this hard, i can’t even launch the game via the launcher anymore it forces me to put in my password and i can’t bypass it.

Where does it state they have to give you the option to log into WoW without the launcher? Is it somewhere in the ToS/EULA? Like I said in an earlier post, when you hit accept, you’re agreeing to them changing anything at any given time. Switching PCs isn’t a big deal with the launcher, you just confirm when you do it and it takes <5 seconds, 3 of which are grabbing your phone.
Footstomping about a very minor inconvenience is childish… They will either fix it or they won’t, but it’s not actually stopping you from playing the game.
I mean log in with the LAUNCHER. The people complaining refuse to use it with BS excuses about switching between PCs. I proved that it’s not a big deal and tested back and forth between two of my PCs. Signed into Bnet on one, lauched WoW from Bnet, logged into a character, went to second PC, logged into the same Bnet, hit approve on my phone, first PC was still connected and logged into WoW, no issues, alt tabbed into Bnet on first PC, hit reconnect to Bnet, no issues.
Moral of the story: For now, log in using the launcher to launch WoW. If the inconvenience of hitting approve on your phone is too hard or encumbering, you need to rethink what you’re doing switching PCs to the point where it’s enough to be an issue. Again, they will either fix it or they won’t, and either way, you’re not entitled to continue being able to log in without launching from Bnet, they simple continue to support it for now. At any moment’s notice, they can change that. Footstomping on the forums and mocking Blizzard isn’t going to accomplish anything.

Though they will likely fix it soon, they are under zero obligation to do so. The product is sold as is and is subject to changes, without warning.
Again, for those having issues logging into WoW from WoW.exe, use the BattleNet launcher for now.

Most of the professionals on these forums are just customer service reps that have very little technical knowledge or internal insight of the problems that arise, like this one. We rarely get posts from the actual devs here. Basically, the average CS rep’s guess is as good as ours, in a lot of cases(no offense blues, you guys still do an awesome job here).
Right. They’re paid to deal with customer issues, hence professionals.
You’re coming in here being an ahole to everyone because they won’t just conform to your twisted view of a workaround being a resolution to the issue. It’s not, it’s simply a workaround that is completely unacceptable for a good portion of the player base because of how it handles in game settings when you launch the game in that fashion and them being multiboxers or just having multiple accounts.
People play the game differently than you.

You mean a very minor portion of the playerbase. Again, if this was such a widespread problem, you’d see posts with thousands and thousands of replies in them, but you don’t…
The beauty of being a human being, with a statistically average intelligence, is that you can adapt to playing the game differently; if the circumstances alter your typical obsessive compulsive rituals. Also, logging into the game != playing the game. But have fun not playing the game in the meanwhile, even though nothing is holding you back from using the Bnet launcher to log in lol…
You know what they say about assuming.
The workaround works, but its not the ideal or even a permanent solution.
Again I’d advise you to leave the support to the professionals, because at this point all you’re doing is trolling.

And the professionals already gave you the temporary solution. If you’re having problems accepting the workaround, or if it’s hindering your life and mental health, I highly suggest reading up on coping with change. And no, I’m not trolling. I’ve personally known of people that have inflicted self-harm over changes to things like video games, so I take it seriously.
This is acknowledged. That’s why it’s called a “workaround”.
The developers are continuing to work to resolve the issue, but harassing them here is futile because they won’t see it. Nothing posted in any of the Support forums goes to the developers except bug reports, and a random player angsting out is not a bug report and will also not be forwarded to them.
Rants belong in General Discussion. You may even find an echo chamber there.
You have a weird way of interacting with people if this is the case.
