Since the new auction house has come out, I havent sold a single item. I usually sell items for a fair price for 48 hours, even if others are massively overcharging. As soon as I list there are 6 or more others listed for the same price shortly afterwards… One solution would be to fix prices for items (perhaps 10x what an npc would buy for?) and then have the item sold based on RNG, I know bliz loves this concept.
At this rate I dont expect to ever sell anything again, my only reason for listing is to keep prices low so the no lifers dont get too much profit out of others.
What you need to sell atm is to keep reposting your items.
If someone equalize your price theirs will sell first.
Either that or cut prices down way more that nobody will follow you.
I personnaly think they should switch back the, last in first out to first in first out. So people can undercut more naturally.
i really hate LIFO, and using it just shows how out of touch with reality blizzard devs really are. that being sad, i use to undercut anyway, and i still do. when i want to sell something, i just want it gone. i’m not looking to squeeze every last copper out of what i’m selling. wait until high traffic times, or evening to list auctions, and then undercut the lowest price by 5 - 10%. you don’t want to be on the wrong end of first in, last out.
Then post significantly lower. This is a market force at work. There is a threshold these people will not want to pass… how badly do you want to get rid of your junk?
You can still undercut. Before you HAD to undercut, now it’s optional. And changes absolutely, literally, and completely nothing for a seller since the last seller was ALWAYS getting the first sale anyway because of the undercutting. The whiners who claim they can’t buy the one that was some coppers or silver higher are both the minority and full of it, so no one is affected in any meaningful way.
Except, sellers dont HAVE to undercut now, therefore prices don’t HAVE to drop every post. It’s a slight improvement, for the sellers. For sure. For the buyers, the interface is a major win.
I’ve yet to see even one single negative of the current AH mentioned on these forums that wasn’t spawned from either disingenuousness or ignorance.
So im disingenuous and ignorant? thanks lol, i disagree but meh. Edit: oh and apparently a whiner for leaving feedback. You sir need to work on your bedside manner.
1 silver less is only going to catch the bulk buyers.
If you really want eyeballs on your stuff, you need to make sure your is set apart from everyone else.
If the lowest price is 75G, sell yours for 70G. It may not seem like much, but you’ll have a better chance of selling your stuff unless someone comes flooding the market with a TON of whatever you’re selling.
I sold some hardened leather (the BfA stuff, whatever its called) for 5G under the previous guy and I had 2 full stacks. Took me 3 listings but I ended up selling all of it in one shot.
It’s about timing and knowing when and how much to undercut.
But, I guess to be fair it does kinda irritate me when people that are as absurdly dumb as you are talk to me. You’re gonna open up your post with an insult then talk as idiotically as you did? It’s gross how dumb it was. Fortunately, I recently learned about mute. You’re bad at the AH. You’re bad at communicating. You’re bad at thinking and you’re a bad person. I don’t need you in my bubble.
This is actually worst because the sellers think they will sell because they have the lowest price, but they won’t because they’re getting dumped on or people are keeping putting items after you. With undercut, it was clear that people were selling under you. As for the buyers, this is causing some strange price stagnation because people just don’t buy much if it’s overpriced, which it is for some servers for a lot of items. So it’s just worse for everyone.
If you think people are disyngenous about you’re probably one of those people that feel advantaged by this because people feel less inclined to undercut because they don’t understand the current system because it doesn’t make sense.
So, its worse* because sellers are too dumb to see they had sales go in after theirs? Just look at your sales if you care that much. If you don’t check, it’s just like if you got undercut. It literally and actually changed nothing. Again, nothing changed. NOTHING. How is this hard for you people to get?
It’s still clear. Click on the auction.
Market does market? If the items are overpriced, they won’t get sold, so the price will get lowered. This, again, like everything else, is exactly the same. If the price isn’t going down, then there aren’t enough sellers. Probably one person posting the item and not wanting to move. There’s not some big host of commodities that are just sitting there 10x overpriced or something because sellers are too stupid to undercut.
Some people are disingenuous*. Some people are ignorant. I don’t really care if people undercut or not. There’s no functional difference between someone undercutting me by 1c or someone posting after me now. None. There’s no difference. I think some people are disingenuous because I’m one of those people who wants to think that not everyone who acts like they think something changed in this AH regarding the actual practical application of how sales function are actually that dumb.
Again, there is NO functional difference. None. I post, you undercut 1c, you get sale. I post, you post, you get sale. It’s always been last in first out, the only difference was the market slowly moved down 1c until it got reset. The amount is insignificant to everyone, buyer and seller.
Well we clearly disagree.
This system is more complex and less functional than what we got before.
For you there’s no difference, for me there is.
It doesn’t work the same way first, that’s a clear difference.
This new auction is way more work for sellers that “abuse” the ah because they basicly get to undercut at no disatvantage and way less advantageous for buyers than before because prices don’t drop as fast, which lead to even more auction houses dominated by AH players that mainly do that all the time.
And there were and are still people that are ready to buy a product 1c more before because that’s a cheap undercut.
The system is objectively simpler than before. If you cannot even understand that much, there’s nothing I can do for you. This is a fact. This isn’t opinion. The interface and the function are simplified. Your utter confusion and ignorance doesn’t change reality. Sorry you don’t think well. GG.
You’re talking about menus vs systems.
The menus before were just disfunctional. (and are kinda still not that great, theres a reason why everyone just use ah addons and still do)
The system was better.
