Asked for T5, got T4. Now I have to waste acuity for a recraft

Where do you think people go to find the crafters for the personal orders?

The intent of a public order is to be convenient and quick for the patron, while allowing anyone to fill it without need for a particular rank. Removing that use case and making them have the exact same use case as a personal order falls apart and is inconsistent with the stated intent as well as the current function.

you can write anything you want in the comments field when you submit the order. you can write “give me 500 gold and mail me a puppy”. that doesn’t obligate the crafter to do that. what a weird suggestion.

I did as many others have. Don’t use the public system. Wonder if that was Blizz’s intention? Hmmm…

for certain crafts…

You can choose not to use it, but you’ve clearly not learned the intended use.

That’s quite the leap of logic.

And again, you are defending a system that people don’t currently use due to this exact flaw, yet you think the flaw being in place is critical?

It is not productive of Blizzard to have a system where you cannot specify a rank of quality you want. I don’t really think that’s reasonably arguable. It makes the public order system not very useful for most crafts.

I’m not sure why you’re going after me for otherwise agreeing that OP misused the system but giving her some mild sympathy. I have the ability to disagree with someone without utterly disagreeing with them on every level.

That said, jesus christ 600 posts since I last looked, wtf.

lots of use this system, because the “flaw” isn’t a real flaw.

once again i use it for things that dont have ranks attached like crests derp

Absolutely fewer private orders with strangers would be happening if you had quality limits on public orders. This is not a bad thing. This does not ruin crafting or make gear-professions a waste of time. In fact, it makes them better for a lot more crafters who aren’t willing to spam trade chat waiting for customers.

You’re suggesting this is bad because of the increased competition essentially. It being a wider market may mean the minority who spam trade make less gold, but overall MORE crafting is being done and more people are engaging with the crafting system.

Public orders have a weekly limit. Concentration exists. People can’t just spam craft for hundreds of customers like they could in DF where that one dude on your server got 90% of the lariat private orders from people who didn’t know someone with it.

People looking for public orders will have a gold amount in-mind that they’re willing to fill for their limited weekly orders.

You can still spam trade chat trying to compete with whatever amounts people are putting orders up for. You can even whisper people with orders up that aren’t being filled and offer to do it for a different price I think? Not sure if it hides people’s names since I don’t bother with public crafting at all currently.

The crafting pros that focus on it a lot will still have ways to make gold. It will be a different world but they’d absolutely adapt to it and make it work well.

Rare recipes may also still find a home in trade chat spam as they aren’t filled as quickly. Not many good examples in TWW for this, but DF had lariat.

You’re either being intentionally obtuse or have no functioning critical thinking skills. It’s not worth engaging with either way.

  1. Not a flaw.
  2. Plenty of people use it, depending on what you want.

Incorrect.

You think all the people spamming instead of using the public order system is because they prefer spamming?

The reason this thread was created wasn’t because people aren’t using it, it was because someone used it wrong.

Great, then we all agree then only certain crafts should be listed in the public system.

I go into store ask for winning scratch tickets and i don’t win should i demand my money back.

You can use it for whatever you please. If you want a particular rank minimum, then don’t use it for that craft. If you don’t care that much, public order away.

no because there are people out there that dont care about max rank on any of their crafts they are just sending it to get an item in that slot.

Take some responsibility OP.

The simplest solution to the “problem” in this thread.
