Why can’t we ask for a specific tier level when doing a public order? Now I have to waste 20 Acuity which I was going to use on a recipe to get a recraft (I have 160 Acuity as of today).
I asked for a T5 in the comments and got a T4. Person said “you shouldn’t make a public order”. Uh, ok, but if someone asked for a T5 and you can’t do a T5, don’t make it.
yeah I don’t use public orders for a reason and I think the refusal to allow setting ranks when putting up an order has just kept public orders useless rather than making them useful to crafters who aren’t yet at max skill.
No, that would be blizzard.
Also it’s still your fault for not using the system that guarantees you a certain crafting quality when you want it at a certain quality.
I get where you’re coming from. Unfortunately, the honor system doesn’t exist anymore, so hoping people will honor your request to just do r5 if able is nearly futile. It’s sad in a way and there are no safeguards other than using the systems that exist, ie, trade chat.
Because public orders are meant for anyone to be able to fulfill. If you want a specific tier of something, you gotta ask a crafter for a personal order. This is designed in such a way that if you want a consumable or an item you don’t care about its quality, throw it up as a public order.
If you want specialized and high quality stuff; ask a crafter personally who will also tell you how much in commissions you should pay 'em.
You could’ve gotten a tier 1. It is a public order. You don’t dictate what quality you get from them. That’s literally the point of 'em.
Then enjoy getting anything but max tier items. That’s the risk you are purposefully choosing to take, so live with it.
OP is coming from the entitled position of “I want to be able to use a system for what it isn’t designed for, and avoid another system that means crafters can ask for a commission that’s reasonable.”
Has nothing to do with any kind of “honor” system. OP is literally just using the wrong system and blames everyone but themselves for it. For what reason… well, with how they are behaving here we can all be sure the commission that they are willing to pay is less than a pittance.
No, I’m saying there are instructions that will inform you that you can only specify quality on a personal order.
You ignoring them is you refusing to follow your own advice.
Your rule is for others, not yourself.
