Because dungeons and LFG changed, it isn’t realm based, they are cross realm… have been for years, and now they are cross faction.
The patron system isn’t a public order. I know that isn’t too complex to understand even for you.
Perhaps, but this is assuming both sides of the community would handle themselves in a way that idealizes this change. Who’s to say 5* public orders wouldn’t be filled by someone even if the request is coming from a someone providing no mats and no tip? Who’s to say that enough players would still engage with personal orders to make it worthwhile for crafters to advertise at all?
And both of these are still sidestepping the reality that this isn’t currently much of a problem when considering the community as a whole. This is kind of breaking something that isn’t broken. Well, it’s being argued that it’s broken for players who’re essentially solo, but I’m not sure how relevant that is in a game that’s still designed to be an MMO. I’m more of a loner myself, but I’m not gonna fault the game for having social features even if it’s stuff that might be outside my personal comfort zone like talking to other players.
Curiously, I already do this.
Yet I have no problem seeing how a system can be improved, even when it doesn’t impact me.
Do you not understand that people can understand the intention behind the way it is and think that it should be changed?
sure, your wrong, but yeah we get that.
you don’t in wow either. you can learn profs on your alts
I CAN, but it’s my choice about how I spend my time, right?
and the exact same arguments you are giving now, are the same that were given back then. It’s like deja-vu.
I CAN, but it’s my choice about how I spend my time, right?
of course! and if you want to waste it misusing the crafting system and then complaining about the results, you’re definitely free to do so.
verything I said in what you quoted was factually correct.
Except the entire premise being wrong.
Do you not understand that people can understand the intention behind the way it is and think that it should be changed?
Clearly you don’t if you think they just turned off minimum quality for the lols.
I understand how it works currently perfectly
You’ve demonstrated the opposite of that.
it would be better for a lot more people.
It would be worse.
Right. And remember when people were complaining that server trolls could infiltrate other servers and blah blah blah?
Then why even have the items in the public order system if we aren’t meant to use it?
You are meant to use it, Like I said. You use it for things you don’t care about the quality of. If you’re not progressing on content, you probably don’t care much if your weapon ends up being 616 or 619 from the public order system after you got your Story mode Ansurek Heroic crest. It’s not really important. If you’re just wanting PvP gear, the quality also doesn’t really matter on that. If you’re wanting crests or profession treatises, there is no quality. Or if you’re wanting a piece just for the transmog, quality is also redundant there too.
There are plenty of use cases for the public order system.
Think of it like this, if I want a suit in real life, I can go to the shop and just buy one from the shelf. It’s going to be (relatively) cheap, but it’s going to be made of low quality materials and it’s not going to fit me right.
If I want a proper suit, I’m going to go to a tailor, I’m going to be measured, sized up and then have the suit made personally for me, with all the embellishments (pocket squares, tie, idk) with the top quality materials. The suit will fit me perfectly and I’ll look great.
Public orders are buying a suit from a department store. Private orders is like getting a bespoke one crafted for you.
Well, change doesn’t happen by keeping it to myself, does it?
Are you afraid of change?
I’m not afraid of change. I am against your terrible changes being implemented.
They can do that without any of the systems we are speaking about, they just make level 1 alts.
Commonly used for crests, treatise and all other items which don’t require a rank.
But yea you should be able to put a rank on public orders, only reason I think they’re not is to inflate prices/cater to the crafter gameplay.
Right, so why have ranked items in the public system at all? If we are meant to spam in trade chat to find a crafter for those items then just remove them from the public interface menu.
Are you afraid of change?
no but you still have yet to give us a good reason for said change…
For anyone who is not particular about the minimum rank. As stated by Blizzard, they are fast and convenient but sacrifice the guarantee of quality that a personal order can offer.
Who’s to say that enough players would still engage with personal orders to make it worthwhile for crafters to advertise at all?
I say give it a shot and see which way works better for the community. They can change it back later if it’s a horrendous failure.
And both of these are still sidestepping the reality that this isn’t currently much of a problem when considering the community as a whole.
I don’t know, a lot of people don’t engage with the system as it is. Maybe more people would be compelled to farm crests to make higher level crafts if the system was more accessible.
Clearly you don’t if you think they just turned off minimum quality for the lols.
It wasn’t “for the lols” it was because they wanted to push people into personal orders for rank 5 crafts which I think was a mistake.
It would be worse.
I think you’re experiencing a failure of imagination.
Right, so why have ranked items in the public system at all?
you probably don’t care much if your weapon ends up being 616 or 619 from the public order system after you got your Story mode Ansurek Heroic crest.
they already answered this read plz

Actually it is. If you are doing progress content then you wouldn’t care I guess because you would replace it pretty quick. For anyone looking to use the weapon for a long time, they probably care quite a bit.
