As someone who stayed on Vanilla, I feel abandoned by fresh Classic

We don’t need ‘many’ we just need ‘enough’ to play Classic FOREVER servers. I agree the Fresh rush is pretty exciting. Everyone fighting for materials and trying to get ahead of the pack. World PvP is epic in these first 2-3 phases!!

Give me at least one good PvP FOREVER server that doesn’t go to Classic + or TBC just LEAVE it alone!

Level 1-60 as a certain class in Classic Era… then in 2 years try another class maybe mage first time and warrior 2nd time. Then when servers merge you have after 4 years your decked out Warrior and Mage that you can Raid or PvP or enjoy taking new to the game friends around for the grand tour.

There’s no reason we can’t have this enjoying the game casually and living life at the same time doesn’t sound like too much to ask. For some wowcraft is a lifestyle and a way to unwind and relax.

Sorry, I’m not sure what you are saying.
Leveling characters over a four years, gearing them, merging them with Era? What is a grand tour?
Are you requesting a longer cycle or?

Go go go go. Oh yea. We don’t need to anymore.

this is what warmane does (one of the largest and most successful pservers). They release a seasonal fresh wotlk server every year and once they finish the season they transfer the characters to the eternal server and relaunch the seasonal server.

Having played a bunch of PoE in recent years, this is actually a pretty good system. Don’t care for the $19.99 part, but having a “forever classic” server where your seasonal toons can retire but still be played off and on has been a selling point to me. I realize it is a lot different with PoE because trying new things is actually a legitimate style of play on that game where in wow…ha! But even saying that, I still think this is a good way to handle it.

Classic Fresh is for “purists.” Fun is not a design objective.

The $19.99 nah, just sarcasm. But yea, I’d be down for a setup like that.

this seems fair.

thats brilliant

I’d be fine if they merged the classic forever servers with fresh classic forever servers after a few weeks of Phase 6 starting.

Anytime before then is just going to be messy tbh unless you remove Naxx gear.

This is what needs to happen here. Sucks but people will have to wait 1-1.5 years to use their BIS toons.

what is classic plus?

I think they will do this btw.

I think what the guy above mentioned is most sensible. Merge the classic fresh servers with the forever servers after phase 6 and then start a new seasonal fresh.

Classic Clone was always a scam to get money from vanilla die-hards like us (they secretly hate us btw), I didn’t buy one and knew it would be a waste of money, so idc.

That said, Classic realms will never be merged and you’ll never get to transfer to them either, you’re on a dead end realm, that’s it’s purpose, to be a “forever” server, transferring your giga bis toon kind of defeats the whole purpose of “fresh” classic doesn’t it?

Just think of it as Retail-

I would actually prefer a longer cycle. (3 years from launch to Naxx, give casuals a chance to max gear without playing 24/7! Progression is WAAAY to fast for anyone who has a family or a job or hobbies other than wow… like working out)

But maybe my confusing statment about 4 years is the assumption that you played 2 years already; have at least 1 lvl 60 in Era and would like for the player you roll in Fresh could rejoin the original 60 after Naxx is released. If for example you mained a Shaman this time around you could roll with Warrior and once servers are merged into / from Era you’d have 2 lvl 60’s and would be able to play either as you like.

Damage is done, they’re not going to fix it until Fresh Classic, reaches Classic Era Phase 6, and they merge the 2 for Classic+ which is Lv.60 raids like Kara/Emerald Dream in Lv.60 world.

Hopefully you’ll find what you’re looking for. I haven’t much confidence in the fresh start. I feel like they will do the exact opposite and make very short cycles. That’s not something I’d be interested in.
In the meantime, my sub is up at noon. I’m out of here until fresh, depending on how they handle it. There just aren’t enough people on Era at this point to make the game interesting for me. GL!

Not everyone enjoys 6 months of farming a single raid over and over. Even if you play 3 hours a week and only for raids you will have everything you need long before new content comes out

3 hours a week means /played 10 days would take: 240 / 3hr = 80 weeks or aprox 1.5 years JUST to get level 60 on ONE player…

You don’t just jump into a raid at lvl 60. You’d have to farm Pre BiS gear to be able to go to MC or Ony to have any kind of reasonable expectation of success.

I’d suggest that 3 hours per week is completely unrealistic even for a ‘casual gamer’

Assuming 168 hours in a week - 56 hours of sleep - 40 hours for work - time with family - shopping - household chores etc maybe you could get 1.5 hours a few times a week and 3-8 solid hours on Saturday/ Sunday. You could do 11 hours a week
(a reasonable expectation for anyone who is not 16 years old anymore and living rent free bills free at home)

between 8-12 hours per week playing games online it would take 24 weeks to get your first player to lvl 60 (A full 6 months of dedicated leveling just to ding 60)

And by bliz calculations you’ve already missed Phase 1 and 2 and 3 and are just now starting phase 4 by the time you get your first 60 with NO gear?? If players go with the ludicrous speed of 1 year cadence.

Sure once you have pre bis and are ready to go go with guildies into Molten Core the gear will start to drop and you’ll have something to show for your hard effort and dedication only to have all progress deleted by the time you complete your Cenarion set. Sounds really stupid NOT to do a 3 year cadence.
