As someone who stayed on Vanilla, I feel abandoned by fresh Classic

Understandable dilemma. But you should chose the spirit of classic or the progress of your character. Sadly having both won’t work because of the unfair advantage.

Not if a merge only happens after stage 6.

Honestly, it would be insane not to consolidate realms at that point.

Stop worrying about your pathetic life and watching the Batchelor no one gives a Sh!t Remember you had the same chance as we did to go to TBC instead you paid to stay knowing full on well that no one would stay and now you’re complaining that your 60 can’t xfer to a classic fresh server because you don’t want to level. If people are able to xfer 60 level toon that would defeat the purpose of classic fresh. Blizz go ahead and bump this guys post its stupid. HERE IS YOUR TROPHY move along…

Not everyone plays to acquire new shinies. Perhaps start playing it like a MMO social experience if you run out of things to do. I honestly have to wonder why the majority of WoW players are in an MMO.

Well said Pastafarian. MMO means friends and community. Getting nice gear is so you can help and enjoy a fun challenge with friends.

you were fooled by all of the #nochanges artards. They wanted a museum because vanilla was the greatest version and every change made, including those in tbc, ruined the game.

Until TBC classic launched. Then they quietly hoped that nobody noticed the, " they thought they did, but they didn’t". So rather than admit it, they try to keep the mantra going by sticking to #nochanges for tbc, by throwing out some of the most rediculous arguments against stuff like dual spec, and lfd tools. They will claim they need a tbc museum so they can play in it forever.

Until wotlk classic, then they will flock to those changes.

I know that originally the game progressed (no going back) from Vanilla to TBC to Wrath but there really has been a pretty cool meta in the Pserver community that made playing JUST vanilla or JUST TBC / Wrath whatever an enjoyable place to pass the time.

Personally I have ZERO interest in TBC and ONLY want a nice “museum” as you call it Classic #nochanges server. I know I’m not the only one. Bliz needs to CLEARLY state a few designated Fresh servers that will not progress to TBC so we can all go there and build our FOREVER home and be left alone to play Classic as much as we want as long as we want.

My point about 3 hours per week is that during raid farming that’s really all the time you need. When you have huge content droughts like that people tend to log in for raids and then log out for the rest of the week. It’s extremely boring, and we don’t want to farm MC for half a year just to cater to extreme casuals that take a year to level to 60. Lol

Perhaps start playing it like a MMO social experience if you run out of things to do.

So you’re in the group that plays for a “social experience”, but you also think raids should be catered to you instead of the people that do raids. Makes perfect sense. I guess if there’s more content in the game that somehow prevents you from hanging out with your buddies. Big brain

i agree with this. I know there are many people that want that same thing. But many in this case is not a large number. I am seeing now that blizz realized it also. What they didn’t realize was the overwhelming amount that wanted the classic gameplay and not the ridiculous limitations that classic had. I still don’t think they get it. People are leaving left and right. Now. Not when tbc launched, and certainly not when they announced boosts and cash shop mounts. They are leaving because they are fed up with simple changes that if implemented would make the bad parts of the game better overall. The stuff people really really dislike and they know there are solutions to. This is what is causing people to leave. But in a year, all you will hear is that tbc failed because of boosts and cash shop mounts.

i totally get some people want original classic. Good for them. It shouldn’t matter to anyone that people want this. I really do hope they consolidate them all into a server that is hopping. I just wish that small amount would have stayed in classic and kept thier mouths shut about changes that could take place in tbc and beyond. Changes that the actual Majority want. changes that keep the spirit and playstyle the same. they just make it more enjoyable. What a shame. oh well, it was a good experiment. I have a few days left in me probably. barely logged in today so we will see.

Here’s the thing, as I said in another thread:

Classic Fresh doesn’t have to be the enemy of Classic Forever. They can work together.

I hope that Blizzard takes this as an opportunity to create seasonal servers that eventually either carry on towards BC or merge into classic forever.

Abandoning classic forever would be a disappointment and I hope that the seasonal fresh addition adds to classic forever/tbc forever/etc. eventually.

if you’re talking about dual spec and other such retail nonsense, I can assure you, that wouldn’t prevent people from quitting.

If you want a tantalizing gimmie gimmie gimmie sprinkles and sparkles and explosive level gains to attenuate your goldfish attention span… maybe Vanilla wow a 14+ year old game that has had every corner explored explained min /maxed and all the adventure farmed out of it is not for you??

People who were tech savvy grabbed the data for the Vanilla version of wow and started playing it online with friends (when retail had moved on to TBC and Wrath etc) It’s really that simple. Stop trying to make it something that it is not… it is slow, the leveling is kind of grindy, but you can pretty much do anything you want in this game. It’s not the fault of the world designers if you can’t find something to do in an endless possibilities open world sort of game.

Casual is the only way to play. Even if you are a competitive player. Casual means relaxed, having fun, enjoying the game. There’s no need for constant hamster wheel grinds for gear that will soon be obsolete.

Lol, literally “you can do anything you want as long as you play the way I say”

Seems like you only come here to troll. Try harder. Produce something instead of just mocking those among us who do.

Paying for a clone made you that angry ?

After phase 6 of a classic fresh is 6-8 weeks in, merging the classic fresh servers that won’t be continuing to TBC makes sense and then start new ones a bit later.

Lose the argument, look like an idiot, call troll. Lmao okay dude

Produce something. If all you can do is tear down what you don’t like then the title still fits. Go troll someplace else

I wasnt dumb enough to do it my dude.
There is no possible way having the clones would be a smart idea.

Sorry, but no, Wrath was the bottled lightning. It’s where the money was and is. They’re only slogging through TBC Classic to get to WLTLK Classic. Subscriptions will explode when it comes out, just like they did with the original.

It is where subscriptions were highest they have ever been. While I think it’s fun for them to have vanilla servers, and agree they should continue to have them and should have a few special servers that are on a reset cycle, you are in the minority of the player base.

If you base subscription numbers on what the majority of people actually like and want to play, then vanilla was one of the lowest points. A foundational period, for sure, and I love the nostalgia of it, but, in terms of subs, it’s down there. Granted, we don’t have subscription data past WoD, but the only time subscription numbers dropped back to Vanilla-levels, was toward the end of MoP and during WoD. TBC, Wrath, and even Cata had higher subs than vanilla ever did. And wrath, by far, is what put WoW in popular culture as a phenomenon. Has any game come close to subscription levels like that? I don’t know, but I remember those days at its peak and it was crazy how popular is was. Felt like anyone you met irl was playing it.
