Yeah and I personally think that’s a bad way to structure rules that lead to account actions, for whatever it’s worth, which I know isn’t much.
I would rather choke on my own vomit (jimi hendrix) than have my wife murder me and make it look like suicide (The Nirvana guy)??
???
Nobody with any sense is going to guess that the trigger number of leaving is “2”. How do you think “a great many” would be defined in other contexts? What is “a great many cats”? One?
You. Can. Leave. A. Key. When. You. Feel. You. Need. To. The. Problem. Is. That. If. You. Leave. Keys. A. Day. For. Weeks. On. End. You. Have. Chosen. To. Do. This. Thing. That. All. Sane. People. Would. Guess. Will. Trigger. A. Suspension.
Um… do you not realize that leaving a key by definition ruins the key? Please tell me you aren’t that dense.
I think it really boils down to what you define as a “waste of time.”
Do you leave keys that will clearly be completed, but a couple minutes over time? (Let’s say upwards to 5 minutes over max) If so, you’re part of the problem and you deserve whatever punishment Blizzard deems appropriate.
Or is the “waste of time” the keys where something bad is happening every pull, there’s multiple wipes on bosses, people aren’t learning from mistakes and it’s quite obvious the group cannot do this? If this is you, I’m sure you’re fine.
When I read the post about punishing leavers, I read it as they’re targeting people who are leaving more keys than they’re finishing. I really doubt it’s impacting that many people, otherwise all the socials would be exploding.
This whole thread is hilarious with these kind of people talking with such certainty all while using vague limits they conjured from nothing. You don’t even know if anyone was actually suspended or of this is just a way to placate a vocal group.
You should absolutely leave keys if you can see clear signs that your time is being wasted. No kicks, bad dps, dying in fire, tanks flopping…cya!
If you’re leaving more groups than you’re finishing clearly you’re part of the problem. There aren’t that many bad groups, but there are many many impatient arrogant players.
you. literally. do. not. know. this. you. are. speculating.
Why do I have to stay for a key that’s running over time if my goal is to time a key?
As a dog kicker…
As a dead beat dad…
As an abusive neighbor…
As an anonymous member of the church…
As someone who takes advantage of others for my own personal gain…
They need to do that with PvP too. No reason why people can cuss at you in PvP but not in a Mythic. And these people get suspensions, not bans. Bans are permanent. If you got banned because of a key, that would mean you were out of being able to play WoW forever.
It’s called being a decent human being by not wasting everyone’s time. If it’s a couple minutes over there’s nothing wrong with that, you still get credit for the vault and loot and some crests.
You only get IO once, the only thing you’re losing is a couple minutes in the scenario you replied to. A couple minutes isn’t much to pay to be a decent human being and helping other players out even if it seems miniscule to you.
I mean I do because I’ve left the keys I felt the need to. There just hasn’t been a lot of them.
Don’t sign up if you aren’t willing to see it through to the end. Don’t want to do that? Host your own keys, making sure to note mistakes = disband. Easy peezy. You’ll still occasionally get trash tier players no matter how hard you try to filter them out, but at least this way you don’t have to sit through the whole thing.
Sticking it out is common courtesy. If the rest of us can endure a bad key, so can you.
So close, it’s actually you who is taking advantage of me for your own gain if you expect me to stay and carry you through a key that you’re botching <3
oh man, you got me so wrong.
I don’t care about M+ to have a real opinion.
and NONE of those were directed at you.
I found humor in the thread title. and I imagined it sort of presented as if “Hey, I leave keys and I am proud”
So then I kind of imagined a ring of men, of course, standing up and saying those things.
I’ve only botched one key and you weren’t there.
That… you’re the kind of person that should get a temp ban. Finish the key. It’s not just about what you need. It’s also about the other people in the group.
I guess this is the beginning of the afk randomly in dungeon meta.
Maybe what those other people need is a lower key, more in line with their skill level.
Essentially, if you inform the team you’ll be leaving as soon as you don’t believe the dungeon will be timed there shouldn’t be an issue. Of course, don’t be surprised to be uninvited.
You’re absolutely right.
If people have expectations or criteria- they should make their own group or communicate clearly that they intend to leave without at least a +1.
It all boils down to communication. No one is going to be upset if they’re all on the same page.
