The devs didn’t screw up. The players requested most of the changes.

You think Blilzz is going to do a entirely different expac for classic because we like classic and a few very vocal people don’t like TBC? Is THAT what you are trying to sell?
Cause you can cancel that, Christmas and New Years if you think that is going to happen…
True you may not be able to get anything productive done in the game while waiting that 10-20 minutes, but that doesn’t mean you can’t talk to everyone in your party about the game and ask what their spec is…find out whether or not everyone is prepared…IE making sure the hunter has enough ammo, or that the healer has plenty of water/milk/melon juice etc. Or even trading stories about your trials/tribulations in doing certain quests or having to hunt down a specific named mob…Down time doesn’t have to be boring or dull…the time you spend in the game regardless of what you are doing is what you make of it.
Lol yeah he’s hinting at Classic+ but he just doesn’t want to come out and say it. Guess he’s not as thick skinned as the rest of them and can’t handle rejection
What are you actually talking about? You want to min max for raids. Good for you. Some people don’t give a sh*t about boring, face/keyboard slamming content. Having to balance classes around content that not everyone wants to play or could care about is stupid.
Edit: My point. Not everyone follows the cookie cutter builds. If you’re good (at PvP) you can beat anyone.
But hey, if you leave Classic alone and get your own BC server, then enjoy. But I seriously doubt they’re gonna do BC. They’re not gonna make a server for all 10 of you asking for it.

I am sort of in the same boat. I wouldn’t stop playing WoW classic but KNOWING that TBC was coming would have definitely made me rethink my class choice. But then again, we didn’t know what to expect back when WoW first came out let alone what the first xpac would bring.

Lol… You make a decent argument though towards what the future holds. Just seems safe to say that a lot of “old timers” agree that TBC - early Wrath was the pinnacle. The hiding of subscriber #'s after this says a lot also.
Said it before, will say it again. Classic is a bone thrown to tribute the early players, the forum spewers Vanilla vs Retail (both sides), also a chance to give newcomers a taste of it.
BUT overall, it’s the most effective way to gather an enormous data set from the player base through all of those, guess its called opinions, above. Pretty much the best, and fortunately for them cheapest, way to wrangle it all up and get a larger chunck of EVERYONE’S feelings about. Especially when the community is split 10 ways to Sunday.
9.0 will bring back the funk because of this.

Sorry but classic balance is trash and what you said is utterly false. It’s rock paper scissors and once people get geared it’ll be a 2 shot fest.
It has to be done right, you cannot force Classic into TBC. If TBC exists it must not interfere with Classic.
One downside is further splitting the player base. If you get stable realm populations in Classic then offer TBC, even if 20% leaves to play TBC, you just crushed guilds and server stablity.

flight and arenas are trash that changed the way we explore the world and how classes interact (from individuality toward homogeneity). also fragmentation will become an issue at some point if we keep adding different versions of the game

Flight is great and it’s the number one cash item in their store. If they have TBC without flight I won’t play it.
If you don’t like it, don’t fly.
I don’t like Arena’s and guess what…I don’t use them as a result.

I doubt they would ever override classic and progress it into TBC. Just make a separate client and allow character copies of our classic characters. Blizzard keeps their subs and the players get to play the xpac they like. Even though classic will lose numbers I’m confident it’ll retain a niche group of players.

I loved TBC, I think it was truly one of my most enjoyable times in wow, I wasn’t a big fan of flying and still don’t like it as it ruined pvp, and made it to easy for gankfests by over geared raiders flying in groups and swarm attacking people on the ground.
I felt it was a good balance as Horde got Pld and Alliance got Shaman and new cool legendary weapons came out it was great!
