Change the ranking system and MMR. Make healing enjoyable and not a miserable experience.
Iād start by revamping lfg and having a clear and consistent line of communication.
For all rated game modes, fill 3 lobbies simultaneously(or at least with some overlap) and mix who goes where, and start the match once enough players queue, dont wait until those that asked for the queue to also accept the queue, just gogogogogo. These two small changes could nearly end queue syncing and wintrading on their own. Let solo queued content have some mediocre level of prestige
Exactly this.
At this point, modernize the game. Evoker was a good start, but specs needs a redo to be more modern and fun.
Otherwise just make a new mmorpg at this point, but why would they do that? Classic and pve are still killing it.
prolly move glad to 2s or shuffle ig idk also revamp the MMR system so that one season your not 2400 and then the next season your hardstuck 1500 cause of deflation its literally the stupidest system in existance lol
$10 take it or leave it
Whatever people are charging for a carry to glad, the drake should be on the store for a quarter of that.
A PvP twitter would be awesome
No.
Give you the option to be placed in twos for shuffle, double dps only. So when you que, you could end up in twos or threes.
Also, give all rewards in twos.
Maybe make some type of stacking rewards so if you hit certain thresholds in each bracket, you get something additional. For example, you get a mount in your first bracket, but if you get the threshold in another bracket, you get accessories or recolors, etc.
OK. Letās just repeat the process forever of pvpers making threads about no engagement.
I see lots of suggestions about how to improve aspects of arena,ss. The issue is lack of engagement. People donāt care about the process that they are not engaging in.
Look at it like this, most players will pve to a certain point. Then they are done. You most likely arenāt going to get people to choose pvp over their pve. So youāre opportunity to get them to engage is in that window.
What will make these players try it before they are less active?
Gold/currency isnāt needed. Equipment that stinks and is only good at that aspect of the game (pvp), they arenāt gonna play for that. Pretty much the only thing pvp has to attract people is cosmetic.
Weird part is pvpers are the only ones who gatekeep past rewards. You can get almost any item to mog in the game.
So this is why you guys are where your at. You donāt want to do anything to get more people in.
Yeah and we can make more of those, including toys, pets, and do more vicious mounts.
But all you are going to do is alienate the people that earned those originally, losing more people.
So because people disagree with a singular one of your points we donāt want more people?
What i suggested has been brought up by others countless times.
Toys, pets are dumb. Mogs are more long term.
Dude letās not pretend a cosmetic set is world first achievement. I unlocked dragonflight s3 (i think) as a mainly pve player. First time holy paly. Mounts i understand, past mogs i donāt.
My suggestion is anecdotal, but i would pvp again for mogs for past seasons. This one is ugly. I donāt want it so Iām not going to play for it.
Reading is hard.
Recolors would be about the only worthwhile thing
See, thatās the thing. You really think blizzard is gonna design another recolor just for pvp? (On top of the one already) Thatās about the MOST unlikely thing to happen.
Iām not here to argue about it. Just throwing in my suggestion based on what would make me come back to pvp personally.
You donāt know how coding works do you? Have you not noticed how a lot of things are just recolors at different difficulty levels?
Notice how the elite PVP sets and then the raid sets at each difficulty are just the same color?
Itās as easy at changing the palette value, boom youāre done.
Aside from updates to base UI/DR trackers and obvious stuff, here are my ideas.
Remove pvp from old versions of wow and only keep pvp in retail (and sod since itās kind of a unique experience) Add in season tournaments/micro seasons. Change LFG/add rewards to it. Mix in special arena days.
In season tournament/micro season ideas:
Like a weekly/monthly reward for playing the game. Maybe players in the top 1% of each bracket get a wow token. (Top end of each rating bracket) sounds silly but could help. Just imagine the top 2-3 Players at the top end of r1, glad, duelist, rival, challenger get a wow token. And you can only get 1 token per season to avoid people abusing the system. Idk just an idea.
Or seasonal rewards for all players, but mainly a focus for new or improving players. Like each 100cr you push after 1k you get a loot box at the end of the week with a chance for rare cosmetics, random old mount, maybe even the pvp gems/high end mats for gold farming.
LFG/RAF idea:
Add a recruit a friend type system to LFG to incentivize higher xp players to help the newbs learn or just to incentivize people to play with randoms in LFG for more than 2-3 games. Could even be as simple as any win with a team from LFG gives a loot satchel, just containing gold and mats maybe a low chance for bonus trading post tenders idk just another idea.
Special arena days:
idk if anyone plays PokĆ©mon go but they rotate weekly battle leagues, it would be cool if like every Wednesday we got a time walking styled arena where they scale it down to lv70 tbc content and all the old tbc gear is relevant for that day. Would incentivize ppl to engage in old content and farm gear kind of like with what mage tower did. They could just rotate through all the different xpac/level caps. Maybe it would get all the pvp nostalgic seeking people back in the game, this could also be a way to incorporate some old seasonal rewards as it would be like a pseudo season of the original season. Could make it super grindy to make the system last a long time, ie on cata arena days you can get one piece of the elite set, so it would take like 8 cata arena days to build a full elite set and on a rotating schedule with other expacs it could take a year to farm the elite set. (This would probably take the most effort to implement and buy in from the community as thereās so many questions. what are the rewards, what is the tuning like, are pve items nerfed, what about old power systems, how would this affect normal cr/mmr? Is it the same rating or different?)
This is more to the general topic, and not directed at any one person.
I dont think Blizzard is concerned with RMT, but I would imagine any good reward PVE players want from PVP, would increase RMT paid carrys, account piloting, queue syncing and the lot of issues we already deal with, could be more prevalent.
I PVP because I like to pvp, I donāt need PVE player power rewards or cosmetics at all.
- Free-to-play (tournament realm styled, locked F2P players locked to a location like Ashran.
- Team size based matchmaking for 3v3 (how skirms work). Consolidation of game modes & ladders.
