With the ilvl increase that still means WF/TF can give you max level gear in M0 dungeons ???
Had a guildie who got a 385 cloak in M0 where it is suppose to be 340 gear… are they capping WF/TF? Or it will be more so the same casino roulette?
Nope. Big part of the reason I unsubbed lol.
It’s no worse than the deluge of legendaries that people got in Legion, I had so many I didn’t really know which were good to equip or not, and it really didn’t matter since i couldn’t raid.
As far as I know they are not
I read this to mean that most drops have a small chance to forge up to the new max of 425. I say small because I know odds decrease the higher an item forged, but I dont believe anyone but the dev’s know the precise odds or formula for forging rates.
Honestly, yes. I find it far more demoralizing to have each patch completely invalidate everything I’ve done up to that point, than I do to have alternate gearing paths.
I don’t care what other people’s that I don;t know gear is, I care about the content i do with my circle of friends.

They are increasing the difficulty, so as I go from +2 and up in season 2, I am progressing. You can’t expect to take your M+10 toon into season 2 and do M+10, there is new progression required. M+10 in season 2 is not the same thing as M+10 in season 1.

The point of all these systems is to get you to play! I’ll be playing, so it’s working. Outside of that, what would possibly be the point of games anyway? It is all a system to get you to play and have fun, that’s it. I think you are over-thinking this lol.
They are also adding a different M+10 affix to shake things up. But if all you are really saying is that you want more “new” stuff… yeah I’m with you there. It is my opinion that the entire raid should not have been a raid, but instead 4 new M+ dungeons. That woulda been better for the game, imo.
Then the content isn’t hard enough and the rewards aren’t great enough to entices you to achieve them.
Edit: Blizzard’s game design has gone to lazily be centered on the Skinner Box of game design.
where did you get all those trinkets at? I haven’t seen a single 370 trinket in 4 months let alone 3 in 13 days. can you fill us all in on where you are getting this gear without running raids or mythic dungeons.
I’d like to see this deluge of gear for my toons. Ah, well.
I like invasion to be top at 365 and emissary at 365. Most world quest at 355. Not for any reason. just that the number makes scaling obsolete. the problem is new gear and scaling come back. I am hoping get right. hate to go out and hit a mob like a wet noodle again.
Gear can come from a lot of sources.
Where did I get my drops from? Good question! I don’t very well know where a lot of my general armor (boots, pants, bracers, ect.) came from. None of it stands out in my memory and quality alone doesn’t give you any hints anymore, it’s all just so very random.
But trinkets can sorta be deduced.

370 (socket) trinket
Dread Gladiator’s Badge
It dropped with a socket so it didn’t come from the recent conquest reward quest. Probably came from the weekly chest or an end of match reward with a McForge to 370.9 days ago

380 trinket
Lady Waycrest’s Music Box

Lion’s Grace
Arathi World Boss
Yeah, 0 raids on my alt.
I do try to run at least 1 M+ on my alt weekly. Though that doesn’t always end up happening.
Next week Ilvl 400 will be the new 370. Heroic raids will drop 400 gear which are not very hard, maybe it will take the players a couple weeks to get use to it but yea we shall be showered in 400 gear soon.
Holy crap, teach me master? How did you do this? I can’t get past 356.
Even in previous expansions, running ‘Normal’ perpetually is just a recipe for burnout if you’re ultimately a Heroic progression group. Our group has always moved it to a 3rd (completely optional) day once we get a few bosses into Heroic so that we can have a solid amount of farm in Heroic and then full progression after that on the required days.
In BfA, we canceled that 3rd day once people no longer wanted/needed Normal. That hasn’t happened before, but at the end of the day, why run it if it’s not giving you anything? Use that time on your actual progression instead, especially if you’re not using an extra day for it like we do.
Also, as a bit of a tangent, G’huun in general is just kind of idiotic in terms of design. It’s not incredibly hard in theory, but it puts a huge amount of personal responsibility on way too many people for a non-Mythic encounter, becoming immensely easier with certain specific classes available, another thing usually reserved for Mythic.
Don’t have 1-2 warlocks? Might as well call the raid.
Don’t have at least 3 solo-running classes available? Might as well call the raid.
Trying to do it without those things makes it soooo much harder.
Our group killed it ~3 times to get everyone who came semi-regularly their AotC then just stopped after Mythrax for Heroic farm after that, it’s just not worth the headache as a group that doesn’t naturally have all the needed specs/roles needed to make that fight manageable.
No, this is a pretty big problem in the game. Add that to aggressive item level scaling used in the open world, Islands and Warfronts, and you get an expansion where gear feels meaningless at times.
The game’s been in a gear inflation death spiral for some time now.
I don’t think they could correct it at this point, honestly.
People are conditioned to get gear upgrades from burping, or going #2.
It’s ridiculous.
My guild is a normal level raiding guild. We have people that can’t perform at higher levels so we stay casually in normal. The fact that we downed 3 bosses in heroic I find astounding.
All this said, I got my first upgrade from the raid 3-4 weeks ago. I’ve never gotten one before or since in the raid. Like many have said, I outgeared it almost from day 1.
I don’t have a problem with it. In fact, it fits the way I play just perfectly since I still have a bunch of slots under that ilvl. Not sure I will be lucky enough to get them all up there but I hope to get as many as I can.
I don’t know how you could compare them in terms of difficulty since the difficulty of mythic 0 is totally dependant on the groups ilvl. I think a mythic 0 run with my friends in the guild is easier/quicker than a warfront. And warfronts can fail.
