Are we really going to go live with another god-comp?

that shows mage was played less than ret, druid, shaman, warrior and rogue

Looking at top 2000 keys you’re right as I look at the chart. A lot less keys total were being run at high end early season so top 2000 covers a much broader percentage of the playerbase. My focus was always on what was going on where I was playing which is too small a sample size for the graph to show.

If I remember rightly fire kinda sucked outside of top top keys before the rework, but it was incredible if pulls were big enough and stuff was living long enough.

This is such a foolish take. Of course you can, it just takes effort and money. During WoW’s supposed peak in Wrath the game was taking in more money than the annual budget of the Large Hadron Collider and balance was hilariously bad (early Death Knights).

It doesn’t matter enough for them to put forth the effort because of people like you making excuses for them.

Anyone saying S1 and S2 where balanced did not play a tank. War dominated S1 to the point that most other tanks where not even viable until late season.

I think what your missing is that fire lines up with aug and bear tanks CDs well, making a class that was optional, required

now i dont do 30 keys, i stick between 20-25, but my tank for the past 3 seasons who quit when aug came out was DK and we didnt have problems

It wasn’t just aug, the others got huge buffs and Spriest was already good. Fire Mage and Hpal in particular were hugely buffed. Even after several rounds of nerfs they were still by far the best.

Thanks for the anecdotal evidence, if you think DK was on par with war in S1 you should not be taken seriously

If you think playing prot warrior was required to do keys outside MDI you should seek help

If you think any class is required to do that you are delusional

when did i say that?

Point being when I say war dominated S1 it does not mean its a required tank, it means it dominated S1 and tanks where nowhere near balanced.

I didn’t say it was balanced. I said it had more variety, and yes warrior was strong early season then rest caught up but it’s representation was still never really close to what bear druid has been this season.

nothings representation has ever been close to this season

with aug in the meta alone, the classes that will thrive are the classes that work well with aug

War was pretty close to where bear was early S1, i would say very close. As the season went on things got a bit better yes but this idea that things where well balanced in S1 I think applies mostly to DPS. Just my 2 cents on it.

DPS and heals mostly I do agree. There were still a lot of top tier players running their pet tanks even through the season though, now most either rerolled or gave up.

All those Brewmasters!

I don’t think Blizzard will ever be able to balance there game properly, which is why i dont think aug is healthy for the game, as long as its tuned to be good, the classes taken in M+ will be whatever works best with their buffs, does the biggest pulls while the CDs line up in some way, ususally in a season there are 1 or 2 classes that can fill each roll, as alot of times in higher keys DH rogue and monk get swapped out for the melee as they share very similar damage profiles and have different unique utility, some seasons mages and hunters have been swapped in and out as they are both lust classes that depending on the spec can do massive uncapped aoe, augment removes that factor of swapping classes by making the one that synergizes with them the best, the one that will be taken

Why wasn’t shadow meta at all in shadowlands despite having PI and mass dispel then?
