Please, this is your opinion. The support specs in MMOs are very popular, they just don’t work in WoW, because this game has is a spreadsheet simulator.
I don’t know why people are so afraid for this game to evolve?

I wonder what would happen if blizzard didnt report on any nerfs and just nerfed the outliers silently.
Once again:
If you have 4 players, then the following need to be equal:
I mean, wouldn’t they just bring another aug? Theyd need to lock that 6th spot to support only
5 slots -
Out of which you pick 3 dps reject 8
You will pick 1 tank reject 2
pick 1 healer and reject 4
No matter what criteria you set - bis , race, racials , social e.t,c, you can only pick 5 because its designed that way.
Whoosh , common sense is not so common after all
Ok so what is your point? You said people will only bring what’s mathematically the highest damage and yet there’s upwards of four to five times the variety in DPS for the hardest keys in their respective seasons on the front page alone…
Actually you know what. Show me the receipts. It is exhausting correcting you people and I am tired of being told what something I experienced was actually like by someone who did not experience it at all.
My point is there is no solution to this other than deleting every class and only having warrior and not requiring healing . Then you can’t complain about class balance anymore because there is only 1 CLASS
Their point is, the WoW player base is extremely invested in min maxing, so if they remove Aug, another group of top specs will replace them.
I bet some people would like this actually, no joke.
Except the season that immediately predates the inclusion of aug had significantly more variety because specs were closer together. This is about pretending to live in some fairytale world where everything is equal, something has to be the best clearly.
But last season what was best wasn’t best by much, and lots of other things were really close or had things to offer that the ‘best’ specs didn’t. The result was a season with a lot of variety even at the top end as shown by all the data we have for DF season 1 keys.
We can do better than season 2 of dragonflight, and arguing not to try by saying it’s never been good at all is genuinely irritating. Last season I had feral druids, moonkins, rogues, mages, locks, warriors, shamans, Ret paladins, hunters, demon hunters, monks, prot palas, blood dks, prot warriors, vengeance demon hunters all on my friends list asking for keys around 3400+ (Title was 3336 EU, 329X NA)
Now though? All rerolled to God comp or quit m+ waiting for better.
Um, DF season 1 had quite a few specs that had poor representation.
Survival hunters, Assassination Rogues, Frost Dks, Fire Mages, Arcane Mages.
Edit: Arms Warriors as well.
Nowhere have I said it didn’t, again you’re acting like this is all or nothing. The balance was better, there was more variety.
Funny you mentioned arms warrior actually, some of my best keys in S1 (27s) were with an arms warrior by the name of Gellyfisk. He was actually the rank 1 m+ DPS in the world in score before aug came out and then he quit because aug made God comp that much better there was no space for him anymore and he didn’t want to reroll.
Here’s some graphs that I think are easier to digest these seasonal meta class breakdowns - keep in mind, these are only the top 2000 M+ runs each week.
DF Season 1
so aug ruined everything?
arms may have a had a bad rep, but it was pretty dam good
Aug was tuned to the point it was going to be a defacto pick but no, I wouldn’t say that. There were other factors, namely the change in set bonus and ilvl increases pushing the value of mage and SP in early 10.1, the new bear tier set making it the defacto tank, and then ofc the reworks to hpal fire and shadow that came in at the same time as augs release.
Most if not all the variety we saw in early season 2 was in the 3rd DPS slot (For example my warrior friend Gelly). The comp was already Bear Fire Shadow Pres / Hpal X.
At least according to that chart there was quite a few different classes played in the higher keys, until the .5 patch that added aug evoker hit
There were, yes, but not all at the same time is the point. There was more tank and healer variety than I maybe remember but DPS comps were nearly always Mage SP X. The difference was the X could be almost anything.
again, that chart disagrees…
when looking solely at the dps section
Yeah it’s really helped me with my aoe dps rotation for sure.
