Well forgive me if Blizzard decided to deny the existence of veteran accounts and the perks they had in comparison to Starter Accounts, by erasing all their official posts. Atm the only remnant of what veteran accounts are is a wowhead post and some xpoff website posts.
Also i made a post in the bug report and people directed me to customer support instead. So do make up ur own mind.
This isn’t something that Blizzard has ever done. They wouldn’t be able to erase the post from the internet anyway, especially with all the fan sites like WoWHead that have Blue Trackers. The WoWHead post that was discussed in the other thread you have on this didn’t mention anything other than the Guild restriction being lifted.
It sounds to me like there may have been a bug in place for a while already, and perhaps it’s working as intended now.
I’m still not aware of any different restrictions that applied to “veteran” accounts compared to accounts with starter restrictions. So perhaps this was a fix and not the tinfoil hat version of “denying their existence” or whatnot.
But you’re right, if they think it’s bugged now, Bug Reports is the right place even if other players suggest that they post here. Good advice Eilis.
Well i will give u the biggest diference that u can see.
Veteran accounts (lapsed subscribiton accounts) are able to use wow tokens , but right now said option vanished from the menu even when u have wow tokens to use in your bags.
So wathever happened it isnt “working as intended now”, but yeah hopefully blizzard can acknoledge at least that issue in bug reports.
Hello Mr. MVP,
“Veteran” edition accounts were introduced back in the Warlords of Draenor expansion over 9 years ago to allow unsubbed players to keep in touch with their guild.
General
- Accounts with an inactive subscription are now able to log in with the same restrictions that Starter Edition accounts have with the additional perk of being able to join guilds that characters on the account already are a member of.

The term “Veteran” account was coined because of datamined internal strings that labeled the account as “Veteran” status. (Source: https://www.wowhead.com/news/veteran-account-mode-january-15th-hotfixes-6-1-profession-updates-245758)
I hope you find this enlightening.
Thank you.
It’s nothing new, no. Nor does it change anything. But thanks.
Well, congrats. your veteran account has all “the same restrictions that Starter Edition accounts have with the additional perk of being able to join guilds that characters on the account already are a member of.”
And even so you can no longer join/acess guilds that characters on the account are already menbers of anymore since the tab is greyed out.
And no matter how many “starter account restrictions” posts out MVP posts, theres not even a mention that banking xp is a thing.
I think this is the long-standing problem with the WoW forums because people prefer to post first with little to no knowledge of the game. But I am happy more people are being made aware of the issue at least.
Perhaps you missed when I posted this previously:
It could be that when people logged into their accounts with the promotion that it considered them to be a part of the current expansion and allowed rested XP gains.
At the end of the day, despite whether anyone wants to agree with anything or not, a GM is not going to be able to change any rested XP received, reset anything, change any character levels or anything else of the sort.
Do you mean the MVP, me or the thread creator?
So if we go by official posts, veteran accounts should be able to join guilds where they had characters in which they cant right now(so bug); banked xp is not a thing in any post(bug maybe?), even if u have wow tokens you cant use then on a veteran(lapsed sub account) which u could pre patch (so another bug).
That is a indeed a big “It could be” Perl.
But from my own experiences since wrath and free days, i can tell you that its the first time this happens, and that rested experience is not the same as banked experience, at least not how its calculated ingame.
Regardless posts were made in bug reports, though i see a lot more in customer support from other people with same issues.
Thank you, but right now that feature is broken. So now we are trying to get it fixed. Hopefully you are someone of importance or know someone who is important enough to get this fixed faster.
Thank you.
Posting on the forums, namely the CS forum, isn’t a contact point. If you think something is broken, bug report forum.
I thought there was a change (in the last year or so) where now you had to have gametime to use a token, as in buy gametime>token applied for the next month when coming off a free accnt (starter/vet whatever). I could be wrong, but I thought there was some hubub about it when it went live.
And yet this post has a Blue response not only 4 hours ago? I can't redeem my WoW tokens from the character screen without an active sub - #3 by Orlyia I’m not sure I understand your message
Blues don’t work for the QA team nor do they work on bugs.
It’s that you’re posting in the wrong forum to get the attention of those who can implement any sort of change.
We were in that forums, and somebody suggested to come here to ask a Blue
But yeah, thanks for the suggestion
She doesn’t answer for design/policy decisions of the Devs. She normally doesn’t pass on bug reports either.
If you feel it isn’t working properly file a bug report. Unfunded accounts can file bug reports and give feedback from the Support menu in-game.
Nah, until the free weekend hit u had a really nice button on the character login menu saying resubscribe and if u pressed it it would allow u to buy/use tokens u had on ur higher lvls of that battle net account.
If we go by official posts, the only thing broken is guild chat for veteran accounts as that is the only thing that distinguishes them from a starter account.
Rested XP and tokens aren’t confirmed perks of a “veteran” account. Their behavior prior to the free weekend could very well be the bug that has now been fixed.
