Oh, that meme’s back?
PvP servers are where people roll in an attempt to establish their tough-guy alpha cred. Then after a month or two of getting repeatedly corpse camped, attempting to avoid world pvp by layer hopping, alt-logging or rage quitting, they eventually pay Blizzard $30 to transfer to a Normal realm.
So I guess the answer is, no?
Just old and tired. PvP is a young persons thing
I do not care what PvP realms think of PvE realms. I do not get a lot of time to play, so I would rather enjoy my time questing, exploring and working on my professions without interference from gankers.
Not everyone enjoys nor plays WoW for PvP. I respect their decision, they should respect mine.
Are you really that old? because if so then I would understand.
How else do you expect me to show random strangers on the internet that I’m better than others random strangers on the internet?
I’m 45, and I’ve damaged my hands a bit in my life
My lunches are nuclear.
Of the same mindset here. Used to be all about the PvP servers back in the day. Sullon Zek in EQ, then to PvP from Vanilla to BC.
Over the years though I just lost that fire in my heart and I’m more interested in taking it easy. Even when playing BfA in Warmode I’d more often than not just wave at the other person rather than ganking them (was just in it for the rewards).
I really do think it’s a “young person” thing nowadays.
I don’t know why but the best pve guilds tend to be on pvp servers. While I enjoy world pvp myself I do admit to not understanding the logic behind why the best pve players flock to pvp realms.
Pvp servers just add a layer of tension. You are never safe out in the world. Also pvp takes a lot more skill than pve, way more skills to use depending on the scenario. In general strict pvers are definitely worse at the game. Boss mechanics are scripted and just require memorization (i still love raiding though). World pvp is dynamic and rarely goes down the same.
I once transfered a character off my pvp realm to play with a buddy on a pve realm. Dueled some of his guildies while waiting for a raid… man they were horrible. They forgot like half of their class skills.
What skills are really involved in a rogue jumping out and ganking a priest after a tough fight where they are left with 25% health and no mana though? Does the rogue prove themselves a better player by ganking that person? Does anyone give the priest any regard for fighting back with whatever they have left at the time?
It just all seems pointless to me. I’d just rather not give that rogue the satisfaction in the first place.
yOu MuStS Be a PrO pLaYeR
The people who say this usually suck anyways makes no sense.
Some of the best PvP happens on PvE servers, actually.
It’s part of the typical PvP server players mentality, they just want to get easy free kills by farming low levels for lolz.
Heaven forbid they roll on a PvE server where plenty of PvP happens, but it’s all consensual only, so there’s no easy lunches.
Because PvP brings out the worst in people. I don’t want to deal with that anymore.
Also, I don’t care what PvPers think of PvE realms. Why in the hell would I need their approval?
I agree. It’s better to play a game which is specifically designed for PvP.
The fear element is removed from adventuring when on a PVE server. You could be attacked at any moment in contested zones either by a group of players or by one by surprise. You literally have to watch your back and you can watch other players backs as well when higher level. If I saw another player getting ganked I would try to help if there was a chance of a change in the out come of the fight. Theres so many factors that kept me hooked to PVP servers. I came from UO/Shadowbane and wanted that same world again.
I use to always warn fellow Alliance/Horde of where players were ganking lowbies in general chat like in Ashenvale or Hillsbrad.
I have nothing against players that don’t like PVP some just don’t like it and thats okay too.
There’s something about us PvE folks really enjoying PvP but preferring to have control over when we participate that strikes the PvP crowd as amusing.
