Makes the world feel organic and alive.
If you see a raid of the opposite faction filing into BRM are you more likely to attack them or /tickle /wave at them?

They think theyāre better by being ganking pricks and masochists. I actually look down upon them. I donāt get my kicks by trying to bully someone else and going out of my way ruin their day. I wouldnāt have come back if Blizzard didnāt host PVE. I was tired of the PVP nonsense from the private servers, which typically never gave you the choice. Now all you world ganking pricks and losers are off in your own world, out of the way of the rest of us. Iām finally free to enjoy the game again without having my time wasted by digital bullies.
This has nothing to do with skill. Iām among top skill for any class I play, and always excelled vs players. But when Iām trying to quest or farm, thatās what I want to do, not die to skull cons or groups of players looking to gang up on folks. Sometimes PVP out in the world is fun. But at least 90% of the time, itās junk. Very little was lost for me by cutting this right off. Iāll get my PVP fixes in the BGs (whenever they get here).
-Proud Windseeker player.
A certain subset of PvP players have some major insecurities. Donāt mind them sneering at PvE players, World PvP being more than just getting curb stomped by higher levelled players is a bit more myth than reality, anyway, from my time on a PvP server.
I think you can judge the answer for yourself from the standard of responses given here.
TL;DR PvP servers self filter out all the angsty, angry griefers and enfant terribles who get their enjoyment from dominating others rather than playing the actual game. As a result those left to play on PvE servers are a better type of player (and probably person, all things considered).
I have 15 minutes to play per dayā¦ maximum. I wish I had moreā¦ I donāt want to spend those 15 mins getting ganked or corpse campedā¦
Yes I am on a PVE server.
Back in TBC until Cata I played on PvP servers. Some people I know started playing in LK on a PvE server. I started a toon to play with them. For me I thought it was a nice break from PvP. I did still PvP but only in battlegrounds. This carebear has been going on for 15 years now and it is not going to stop. People that PvP believe that PvP is harder to Play than PvE. that is what it is all about.
If you flag yourself for PvP on a PvE server you must be like so brave
Those types canāt stand to see others play differently than they do.
Itās almost as if different players have different preferences.
PvP servers just feel pointless to me. If they were epic clashes of armies charging at each other on the open field, thatād be much different. Iād be hugely into that. Unfortunately 99% of the time itās really just some punk undead rogue waiting for you to weaken yourself to score an easy kill. Iām just not interested in feeding into the sociopathic tendencies of others anymore.
Playing RP-PvE and am having a blast.
World PVP is dead. It died 15 years ago and it isnāt coming back. Thereās no reason to play on a PVP server if you canāt get decent world PVP interactions. Iāve played PVP flagged on PVE servers, and on PVP servers from most of the modern MMO releases since WoW. They say āwar never changesā and neither does the sort of PVP you will experience on a PVP server.
Itās always someone who is either much higher level than you, or in a group with more members who engage. Typically they do this while youāre at half health fighting mobs. The most cowardly play rogues and they will actively wait until you fight a pack of mobs before the make their move. After āpwningā you with their ā1337 skillz lolzā they like to show how sportsmanlike they are with a good tea-bagging. Expect a corpse camp if they are particularly emotionally insecure or fragile.
Tarren Mill sets the standard for this behaviour, as the Alliance are generally 10 levels higher than Horde players here. It continues in STV but peters out later as people spread out more again.
If you like running around in a gang assaulting individuals and smaller groups then PVP might be for you. If you donāt mind cowering in the bushes waiting for someone to be half dead, then PVP might be for you. If you feel the need to wait for someone to respawn at low health and mana then immediately attack them again - then PVP might be for you.
The myth that there is great world PVP is much exaggerated and often recounted. Itās mostly just cheap ganks and raids running into each other at the entrance to BWL. Itās pretty boring and adds nothing to the experience.
You must of played a lot of comp stomps back in the day huh?
It is very difficult to do PvP well in a MMORPG setting - and WoW doesnāt do it particularly well.
In essence, PvP is a weird little minigame some people enjoy playing. However, unlike pet battles or fishing, you can non-consensually impose your weird little minigame on other people. Needless to say, the majority of the population doesnāt like that - and those who do like PvP are upset that the majority doesnāt want to play with them.
So many internet tough guys thinking courage has anything to do with WoW.
Seriously, who even wants to associate with people still telling mommie jokes.
Donāt believe the bad behavior is just on pvp servers. 3 horde tough guys felt the need to taunt me the other day.. of course, it was 3 of them, while I was drinking after killing a few naga.
No worries, we all know what happened to the pvp servers. It is already fast tracking to the same results.
Huh? Itās the normal version of the game, for people who arenāt sadists or masochists.
I played PvP for 10 years. Tired of that.
Nowadays if I want to do something competitive, I play Hockey.
PvE servers are anti-tryhard mode
If I wanted to play a pvp Iāll play a better pvp game like DAoC. Still a better pvp game then will ever dream of.
We pve players like to just enjoy the game. Chill and play. We also much nicer people, just look at the trolls above. ;p
Lol ādecadesā you sound like the typical dude that likes pvp but it is so bad ar it that it is forced to play pve and it is mad because of it so what he does is downplay pvp with silly excuses like the ones you wrote.
No itās fools like you trying to impose themselves on other people that should go away. People like you are exactly why iām playing PvE this time around.
Itās early days yet, too soon to really know names
The great thing abou pvp is thereās pretty much always someone somewhere in the mood when the itch strikes. I live and let live until provoked, especially now. And I see the possibility of being ganked (paying a tax on being lazy) as additional challenge
