Don’t sugarcoat it. Tell us how you really feel.
Nothing wrong with pve servers persay. They get made fun of for playing safe, and leaving out a massive part of the game that is open world pvp.
classic wows end game is pvp so being on a pvp server gives you alot more to do in classic wows endgame.
on a pve server one you kill nax all thats left is bgs.
Wpvp too, just has to be more organized
You know how people get smug because they play Classic instead of Retail?
You take it to the next level by being smug about your server type.
World PvP just takes so much time for no gain (except maybe fun if it is fun?) and when BGs come out it won’t matter if you are on a pvp server or not. If you have all the time in the world then I guess pvp is for you.
To be fair even most PvP servers changed into PvE servers over time in retail. Players moved to the dominate faction once Blizzard allowed that and you ended up with Horde population over 90% servers and Alliance population servers over 90%.
The reality is that most players did not really want to PvP. They just liked to stomp the other faction so they moved to whichever faction was dominate so that they could always be on the winning side.
Which is why even PvP servers in retail changed into PvE servers with Blizzard paying people to try and get some players to get stomped by Horde in Warmode.
Most people like PvP because it feels more like the real life, it’s a threatening world full of danger, the first time you put step on a contested zone you feel anxiety and observed, then someone from the opposite faction jumps on you and you defend yourself from getting killed (our ancestors felt like that when they were out hunting) then you win the fight and then dopamine triggers, you feel great killing the bastard and have a great tale to tell, then people on PVE servers, well they are just in their safezone, they never have great stories and their biggest danger is pulling 2 or more mobs, and that’s ok they just enjoy the lore or are just afraid to engage any PvP. I played both PvE and PvP servers and in my opinion PvP create stronger bonds with the players. I remember many stories saving or getting saved from gankers or road kills and you get known by that, and on my PvE server well… nothing interesting happened there.
There’s a limit for a reason.
Years spent being one of those sadistic mustache twirling villains. Takes one to know one.
idk about noob and carebear, but PVE servers are just like PVP servers with part of the game functionality turned off, so for some people it may be equivalent to riding a bicycle with training wheels, or swimming with floaters.
Exactly!
I play REAL PVP games
Tekken
Soul Caliber
Street Fighter
Mortal Kombat
Street Fighter vs. Marvel
Dead or Alive
Samurai Showdown
Fatal Fury
Counter Strike 1.6, Source & Go
Call of Duty
Gran Turismo
Need 4 Speed
Goldeneye 64
Doom
Quake
League of Legends which is incredibly unbalanced but fun. But even against an unbalanced champion that has more gold and levels than me, my team & I can still outplay them 5v1 and turn the game around. If the entire team is fed, we can still win if they play bad and throw the game.
Insert Other PVP Game I Left Off List Here (PUBG, Fortnite, Apex Legends, ect)
WoW
As you can see, I LOVE PVP games. But what is the difference between the average WOW PVP player and the other PVP game player I listed? I actually have a chance to win and the other player has a chance to lose. But in WoW, too many players will only attack players who are 10, 20, 40 levels below them. Or they will only 5v1, 10v1, 20v1, 20v5 because it means they can’t lose.
That isn’t PVP. That is the equivalent of somebody (lets say over the age of 18) who can’t win a PVP game of Street Fighter or Tekken. So, they go find a 5 year old, beat the 5 year old 20 times in a row. And then they proclaim that they are all the sudden good at PVP.
Come beat me in some balanced PVP game. OK, except LoL. I might lose at that game. But I’m still ranked Bronze IV in LoL. But I might be Bronze IV forever because I pretty much quit LoL to play WoW Classic.
I’ve been debating whether or not to reroll on a PVE server. 8 alts ranging in level 12 to 16. And I took my time and leveled cooking, first aid, fishing, and their 2 major professions too. I guess I should just bite the bullet and reroll now. I rerolled 11 alts in Legion that were all level 26 to 45 from low pop to high pop servers. Yes, Legion leveling was easy but I did every quest in the 1-20 zones. And Legion was my cough 1st WoW game cough so I didn’t have heirlooms. If I rerolled once, then I can reroll again.
I know other people will call me weak, or a carebear, or scared. Who cares. It’s those other players who don’t PVP fair that chased off the REAL PVP Players. And I have plenty of other PVP games I can challenge them in if they think I’m so carebear.
Edit:
Now excuse me while I don’t reply any more in this thread because I’m too busy playing either WoW or LoL instead of reading the forums (plus it’s over 100 posts and not reading every single post).
They think they’re better than PvE players for playing “hard mode.”
Personally, I don’t care what they think. I just want to do my things or have fun my way. I’ve had bad history with PvP in past (EverQuest left several bad marks in my childhood), that and I get stress out too easily so I’d rather to avoid open PvP entirely.
I will PvP when I want to, otherwise I just want to play in peace.
If you want to play a game with no worries of PvP or anything, go play a single player game?
I play to relax. I love PVE because I control what happens and can do things like sit up on a hill while I’m getting a snack and not worry about anyone killing me. I can see how PVP could be fun if you were looking for a more intense session, but that’s not what I’m here for. It’s dopey to insult others for not playing the way you prefer.
Sadly some people play games for the sole purpose of rubbing their BS in someone elses face.
If you want to play a game with an extreme emphasis on PvP, go play such a game? WoW’s PvP is a 4 out of 10, relative to anything else on the market.
That’s your opinion AND you’re alliance. makes sense why you would cry about it. I’d say the same thing if I always lost.
Why am I not surprised that you ignored the underlying point.
Woah now, not all us Alliance are the same
